Top-K Query framework.in Wireless Sensor Networks for Smart Grid

The smart grid has caught great attentions in recent years, which is poised to transform a centralized, producer-controlled network to a decentralized, consumer- interactive network that＇s supported by fine-grained monitoring. Large-scale WSNs （Wireless Sensor Networks） have been considered one of the very promising technologies to support the implementation of smart grid. WSNs are applied in almost every aspect of smart grid, including power generation, power transmission, power distribution, power utilization and power dispatch, and the data query processing of ＇WSNs in power grid＇ become an hotspot issue due to the amount of data of power grid is very large and the requirement of response time is very high. To meet the demands, top-k query processing is a good choice, which performs the cooperative query by aggregating the database objects＇ degree of match for each different query predicate and returning the best k matching objects. In this paper, a framework.that can effectively apply top-k query to wireless sensor network in smart grid is proposed, which is based on the cluster-topology sensor network. In the new method, local indices are used to optimize the necessary query routing and process intermediate results inside the cluster to cut down the data traffic, and the hierarchical join query is executed based on the local ***, top-k query results are verified by the clean-up process, and two schemes are taken to deal with the problem of node＇s dynamicity, which further reduce communication cost. Case studies and experimental results show that our algorithm has outperformed the current existing one with higher quality results and better efficiently.

Tectonic framework.of China and its relation with mineral resources——Cognition from geophysical data

TECTONIC and its evolution are theoretical basis of geology and summation in geosciences from investigation of the earth’s structure, composition, motion and history. Therefore, they are of great importance to the industrial activities. Various geological maps have been compiled in different scales after long-time observation of rock outcrops in mountains and torrents. These tectonic maps, which are obtained based upon the cognition and judgment of tectonic movements in different ages, are summarization regarding the regularity of geological phenomenon in terms of theory, and provide service of exploration and references for environmental protection and prevention and control of disaster.

Dynamical framework.with blocking topography coordinates for atmospheric GCM and its validation

The dynamical framework.with Blocking To-pography Coordinates (hereafter, BTC), which is suited tohandle the steep topography for the atmospheric generalcirculation models, is presented in this paper, together withits validation results. The integral properties of both the dif-ferential and finite-difference equations for the BTC dy-namical core are: gross mass conservation, quadratic con-servation for advection terms, Coriolis force does not changethe kinetic energy, conservation of total available energy. Theimproved nonlinear iteration scheme is utilized for thetime-integration. The energy conservation for BTC dynami-cal core is validated by using the integration results from9-layer and 21-layer version respectively. Comparison resultsshow that, the changes of the kinetic energy and total avail-able potential energy during the integration are quite closefor both the BTC dynamical framework.and the dynamicalframework.of IAP 9-level and IAP 21-level AGCM, and thismay suggest that the BTC dynamical core can be used forlong-term integration with good computational ***, the BTC dynamical core has the advantageover the terrain following (sigma) coordinates in its betterrepresentation of the influence of the large-scale topographyon the atmospheric general circulation. Finally, the correct-ness and reasonableness of the BTC dynamical core has beenfurther proved by the numerical simulation of the topogra-phy influence on the quasi-stationary planetary wave with21-layer version of BTC dynamical framework.

Construction Project Delivery System Selection framework. Professional Service Firms＇ Perspective

There is a variety of PDSs （project delivery systems） in today＇s construction industry. This leads to confusion when it comes to selecting the most suitable PDS for a specific project. The wrong selection decision might lead eventually to reduced profit margins or perhaps financial losses to PSFs （professional service firms）. This research proposes a conceptual framework.that helps PSFs in the selection of one or more suitable PDSs for their construction operations. The framework.uses SWOT （strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats） analysis as a tool for assessing each PDS considered in this research. The PDSs included in the framework.are design-bid-build, design-build, construction management agency, public-private partnerships and integrated project delivery. The main aim of this research framework.is to enhance decision-making efficiency in PDS selection for PSF operations.

This work presents the authors＇ experience in the field of mobile technologies, from which several initiatives have emerged. As result of this, a games-based framework.for learning has been developed in these last years. This framework.is composed by a competition called Mobigame, which has as main aim to stimulate the participation of the students. By participating in this competition participants learn to develop for mobile devices. A game to practice Japanese is also presented in this article, which was presented in the above mentioned competition. This game has been developed for mobile phones or PDAs （Personal Digital Assistants） based on the JME （Java Mobile Edition） technology. Finally, another initiative is also presented： A free download platform of digital contents for mobile devices based on info-educational games.
