studies on communication strategies （CSs） have been carried out for nearly four decades and have contributed a lot to the development of such fields as applied linguistics and second language acquisition, but they are still inadequate and there remain controversies over certain issues. Thus, more systematic and rigorous studies are needed to check or confirm the findings of some studies and further CS research from newer and broader perspectives. This paper mainly reviews the existing empirical studies from different perspectives： CS classifications and research methods, factors affecting the choices of CSs, teachablity and teaching of CSs, and effectiveness of CSs. It is aimed to provide a clear picture of research on L2 CSs and offer some suggestions for further research.

The present paper reviews 25 studies conducted in the domain of L2 （second/foreign language） dynamic assessment （DA） in recent years. It begins with a survey of relevant research, then discusses some of the major findings and problems, and finishes with some suggestions for further research. The main findings of the review are as follows：（a） DA has the potential to promote L2 competence development; （b） both the interactionist approach and interventionist approach have attracted the interest of L2 researchers; （c） most studies have focused on small samples; （d） reading and grammatical knowledge have drawn the most attention; （e） group DA may be a potential method to advance L2 competence development in both the focused individual and the other members of the group; （f） computers might play a complementary role to humans acting as mediators; and （g） case study methodology has been the overwhelming choice for experimental design. Based on the available research, we suggest that additional studies are called for on the following issues：（a） L2 DA as an approach to measurement, （b） potential mediators, （c） validity issues of L2 DA, （d） the interface between DA and second language acquisition, and （e） the development of L2 classroom teachers.

The objective of this work is to understand how the process of co-creation occurs within the creative industry of video games. For this, concepts of the creative industry, co-creation, information and communication technologies (ICTs) and innovation were studied. Since this is an exploratory and qualitative research, a single case study was chosen as a method. The analysis was done in a Brazilian company that develops games for mobile devices. The results show that the consumer (gamer) participates in value creation in the company’s products, mainly in the initial production stages. In the later phases, after the launch and other steps of the life cycle, although there is a relationship with the users, the joint creation of value is little explored by the organization. Also, it was verified that the co-creation process is supported by different information and communication tools, which provide agility to the process.

An Historical Overview of the Role of L1 in SLA

The study deals with the effect of native tongue in SLA(second language acquisition). As is well-known, learning a second language is a complicated process, which is affected by a series of interrelated factors. Among these factors, the native or first language of a second language learner also plays an important role. Owning to this, the study of the role of L1(the first language) in SLA is inevitable. Many studies have been carried out in this field and the results are inconclusive. The study aims at making an overview of the various conclusions of the preceded studies and each previous assertion or conclusion is supported by its corresponding empirical studies. Equally speaking, the paper is going to solve the problem that what is the exact role of native language in SLA and the personal opinion of the researcher is provided as a conclusion of this study.

Bi-directional pedestrian flows are common at crosswalks, footpaths, and shopping areas. However, the properties of pedestrian movement may vary in urban areas according to the type of walking facility. In recent years,crowd movements at carnival events have attracted the attention of researchers. In contrast to pedestrian behavior in other walking facilities, pedestrians whose attention is attracted by carnival displays or activities may slow down and even stop walking. The Lunar New Year Market is a traditional carnival event in Hong Kong held annually one week before the Lunar New Year. During the said event,crowd movements can be easily identified, particularly in Victoria Park, where the largest Lunar New Year Market in Hong Kong is hosted. In this study, we conducted a videobased observational survey to collect pedestrian flow and speed data at the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Market on the eve of the Lunar New Year. Using the collected data, an extant mathematical model was calibrated to capture the relationships between the relevant macroscopic quantities,thereby providing insight into pedestrian behavior at the carnival event. Bayesian inference was employed to calibrate the model by using prior data obtained from a previous controlled experiment. Results obtained enhance our understanding of crowd behavior under different conditions at carnival events, thus facilitating the improvement of the safety and efficiency of similar events in the future.
