Extracellular vesicles(EVs)are nano-size vesicles secreted naturally by all cells into the extracellular space and have been recognized as important cell-cell mediators in multicel-lular *** contain nucleic acids,proteins,lipids,and other cellular components,regulating many basic biological processes and playing an important role in regenerative med-icine and *** can be traced to their cells of origin and exhibit a similar ***,EVs demonstrate low immunogenicity,good biocompatibility,and fewer side ef-fects,compared to their parent *** stem cells(MsCs)are one of the most important resource cells for EVs,with a great capacity for self-renewal and multipotent differ-entiation,and play an essential role in stem cell *** mechanism of MsC therapy was thought to be attributed to the differentiation of MsCs after targeted migration,as previously ***,emerging evidence shows the previously unknown role of MsC-derived para-crine factors in stem cell *** EVs derived from oral tissue MSCs(OMSC-EVs),show more advantages than those of all other MsCs in tissue repair and regeneration,due to their lower invasiveness and easier accessibility for sample ***,we systematically review the biogenesis and biological characteristics of OMSC-EVs,as well as the role of OMsC-EVs in intercellular ***,we discuss the potential therapeutic roles of OMSC-EVs in oral and systemic *** highlight the current challenges and future directions of OMSC-EVs to focus more attention on clinical *** aim to provide valuable insights for the explorative clinical application of OMSC-EVs.

Circular RNA(circ RNA),classified as a type of non-coding RNA,has gained significant attention in the field of biology due to its distinctive ring structure and functional *** research has provided evidence that specific circ RNAs have the ability to modulate disease progression through diverse mechanisms,one of which is by regulating cellular *** is a form of regulated cell death that is driven by iron dependency and lipid peroxidation,and extensive investigations have revealed a relationship between ferroptosis and disease *** addition to evidence that both circ RNAs and ferroptosis exert critical roles in disease progression,circ RNAs have also been shown to actively mediate the process of *** relationship between circ RNAs and ferroptosis therefore influences disease progression and offers novel targets for disease *** directly or indirectly modulating the expression of circ RNAs that regulate the expression of ferroptosisrelated proteins,it may be possible to impact disease progression by promoting or inhibiting *** research indicates such approaches may hold significant value in a wide variety of common diseases across physiological *** review comprehensively summarizes the findings of recent studies investigating the roles of circ RNAs in the regulation of ferroptosis in various diseases.

Viral nervous necrosis(VNN)disease,caused by the nervous necrosis virus(NNV),is a devastating disease,leading to high mortality rate and huge economical loss in *** the past 30 years,many studies on the virus,host responses to the virus infection and diagnostics have yielded a lot of knowledge on developing measures to prevent the VNN *** genetic improvement of disease resistance through breeding is inheritable and has long-lasting positive effect on aquaculture,it is a very challenging task in conventional selective breeding for improving disease *** the advances in mapping quantitative trait loci(QTL)and genome wide association studies(GWAS)for NNV resistance in aquaculture species,DNA markers and genes associated with NNV resistance have been identified,making the application of marker-assisted selection(MAS)and genomic selection(GS)for NNV resistance possible.A few genes for NNV resistance are identified and are being used for genome editing to rapidly improve NNV *** this review,we present the current knowledge on the NNV,host responses to NNV infection,diagnostic methods and vaccines available for NNV *** addition,we summarize the current status of conventional and molecular breeding for NNV resistance and highlight future directions,including genome editing for improving NNV resistance in aquaculture.

Several monocentric studies have noted alterations in spontaneous brain activity in Alzheimer's disease (AD), although there is no consensus on the altered amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations in AD patients. The main aim of the present study was to identify a reliable and reproducible abnormal brain activity pattern in AD. The amplitude of local brain activity (AM), which can provide fast mapping of spontaneous brain activity across the whole brain, was evaluated based on multisite rs-fMRI data for 688 subjects (215 normal controls (NCs), 221 amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) 252 AD). Two-sample t-tests were used to detect group differences between AD patients and NCs from the same site. Differences in the AM maps were statistically analyzed via the Stouffer's meta-analysis. Consistent regions of lower spontaneous brain activity in the default mode network and increased activity in the bilateral hippocampus/parahippocampus, thalamus, caudate nucleus, orbital part of the middle frontal gyrus and left fusiform were observed in the AD patients compared with those in NCs. disease progression in chronic hepatitis C patients with normal alanine aminotransferase levels

AIM:To investigate whether the disease progression of chronic hepatitis C patients with normal alanine aminotransferase(ALT) levels differs by ALT ***:A total of 232 chronic hepatitis C patients with normal ALT(disease progression for each *** incidence of disease progression,as defined by the occurrence of an increase of ≥ 2 points in the Child-Pugh score,spontaneous bacterial peritonitis,bleeding gastric or esophageal varices,hepatic encephalopathy,the development of hepatocellular carcinoma,or death related to liver disease,were compared between the two ***:Baseline serum ALT levels were associatedwith disease progression for both *** best predictive cutoff baseline serum ALT level for disease progression was 26 IU/L in males and 23 IU/L in *** mean annual disease progression rate was 1.2% and 3.9% for male patients with baseline ALT levels ≤ 25 IU/L(low-normal) and > 26 IU/L(highnormal),respectively(P = 0.043),and it was 1.4% and 4.8% for female patients with baseline ALT levels ≤ 22 IU/L(low-normal) and > 23 IU/L(high-normal),respectively(P = 0.023).ALT levels fluctuated during the follow-up *** the follow-up,more patients with "high-normal" ALT levels at baseline experienced ALT elevation(> 41 IU/L) than did patients with "lownormal" ALT levels at baseline(47.7% vs 27.9%,P = 0.002).The 5 year cumulative incidence of disease progression was significantly lower in patients with persistently "low-normal" ALT levels than "high-normal" ALT levels or those who exhibited an ALT elevation > 41 U/L during the follow-up period(0%,8.3% and 34.3%,P disease progression,suggesting that the currently accepted normal threshold of serum ALT should be lowered.

In recent years,there has been a critical change in treatment paradigms in inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)triggered by the arrival of new effective treatments aiming to prevent disease progression,bowel damage and *** insufficiency of symptomatic disease control and the well-known discordance between symptoms and objective measures of disease activity lead to the need of reviewing conventional treatment algorithms and developing new concepts of optimal therapeutic *** treat-to-target strategies,defined by the selecting therapeutic targets in inflammatory bowel disease consensus recommendation,move away from only symptomatic disease control and support targeting composite therapeutic endpoints(clinical and endoscopical remission)and timely *** data suggest that early therapy using a treat-to-target approach and an algorithmic therapy escalation using regular disease monitoring by clinical and biochemical markers(fecal calprotectin and C-reactive protein)leads to improved *** review aims to present the emerging strategies and supporting evidence in the current therapeutic paradigm of IBD including the concepts of“early intervention”,“treat-to-target”and“tight control”*** also discuss the real-word experience and applicability of these new strategies and give an overview on the future perspectives and areas in need of further research and potential improvement regarding treatment targets and(“tight”)disease monitoring strategies.
