Spin–orbit coupling(SOC)combined with electronic correlation can induce topological phase transition,producing novel electronic states.Here,we investigate the impact of SOC combined with correlation effects on physical properties of monolayer OsBr_(2),based on first-principles calculations with generalized gradient approximation plus U(GGA+U)approach.With intrinsic out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy,OsBr_(2)undergoes threefold topological phase transition with increasing U,and valleypolarized quantum anomalous Hall insulator(VQAHI)to half-valley-metal dxy dx2−y2 dz2¯6m2(HVM)to ferrovalley insulator(FVI)to HVM to VQAHI to HVM to FVI transitions can be induced.These topological phase transitions are connected with sign-reversible Berry curvature and band inversion between/and orbitals.Due to symmetry,piezoelectric polarization of OsBr_(2)is confined along the in-plane armchair direction,and only one d11 is independent.For a given material,the correlation strength should be fixed,and OsBr_(2)may be a piezoelectric VQAHI(PVQAHI),piezoelectric HVM(PHVM)or piezoelectric FVI(PFVI).The valley polarization can be flipped by reversing the magnetization of Os atoms,and the ferrovalley(FV)and nontrivial topological properties will be suppressed by manipulating out-of-plane magnetization to in-plane one.In considered reasonable U range,the estimated Curie temperatures all are higher than room temperature.Our findings provide a comprehensive understanding on possible electronic states of OsBr_(2),and confirm that strong SOC combined with electronic correlation can induce multiple quantum phase transition.

Objective:Mumps is a seasonal infectious disease,always occurring in winter and spring.In this study,we aim to analyze its epidemiological characteristics,transmissibility,and its correlation with meteorological variables.Method:A seasonal Susceptiblee Exposede Infectious/Asymptomatice Recovered model and a next-generation matrix method were applied to estimate the time-dependent reproduction number(Rt).Results:The seasonal double peak of annual incidence was mainly in May to July and November to December.There was high transmission at the median of Rt¼1.091(ranged:0 to 4.393).Rt was seasonally distributed mainly from February to April and from September to November.correlations were found between temperature(Pearson correlation coefficient[r]ranged:from 0.101 to 0.115),average relative humidity(r¼0.070),average local pressure(r¼-0.066),and the number of new cases.In addition,average local pressure(r¼0.188),average wind speed(r¼0.111),air temperature(r ranged:-0.128 to-0.150),average relative humidity(r¼-0.203)and sunshine duration(r¼-0.075)were all correlated with Rt.Conclusion:A relatively high level of transmissibility has been found in Xiamen City,leading to a continuous epidemic of mumps.Meteorological factors,especially air temperature and relative humidity,may be more closely associated with mumps than other factors.

AIM:To explore the correlation between diabetic retinopathy(DR)and Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection,based on data from a physical examination population.METHODS:This cross-sectional retrospective analysis included data of 73824 health examination participants from December 2018 to December 2019.Participants were divided into the diabetic group and non-diabetic group,nondiabetic retinopathy(NDR)group,non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR)group,proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR)group,and Hp infection group.Gender,age,body mass index(BMI),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),and Hp data were recorded to compare the degree of DR lesions and Hp infection.Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the correlation between DR and Hp infection.RESULTS:There was a statistically significant difference between the diabetic and non-diabetic group(χ2=94.17,Pcorrelation between the degree of DR lesions and Hp infection(ρ=-0.00339,P=0.7753).Age[odds ratio(OR)=1.035,95%CI:1.024,1.046,Pcorrelation between DR and Hp infection in the physical examination population.Hp infection is a risk factor for DR,and there is no significant difference between Hp infection and DR of different pathological degrees.Actively eradicating Hp may be of help to prevent DR.

Moirésuperlattices created by stacking different pieces of two-dimensional layered materials with a slight lattice mismatch have recently emerged as an exceptional platform for exploring emergent quantum phenomena.In stark contrast to the“parent”materials,the electronic band structures are significantly modified from moiréengineering due to the large-scale periodic moirépotential and interlayer hybridization.In this paper,we mainly focus on the recent progresses achieved in graphene-based moirésystems which have been a condensed-matter playground showing unprecedented abundance of quantum states such as strongly correlated states,superconductivity and novel band topologies.

Influenced by the fact that vorticity represents rotation for rigid body,people believe this idea also works for fluid flow.However,the vortex predictions by vorticity do not match experimental results,which drove scientists to look for more appropriate methods to identify vortex.All vortex identification methods can be categorized into three generations.The vorticity-based method is classified as the first generation.Methods relying on eigenvalues of velocity gradient tensor are considered as the second generation.People still believe vorticity is vortex since vorticity theory looks correct in mathematics,but all other methods are only scalars and unable to indicate the swirl direction.Recently,a new vortex identification method called Liutex is innovated.It is regarded as the third-generation method,not only overcoming all previous methods’drawbacks but also having a clear physical meaning.The direction of Liutex represents the swirl axis of rotation,and its strength is equal to twice the angular speed.In this paper,we did a correlation analysis between vorticity,Q,λ_(ci),λ_(2)methods and Liutex based on a direct numerical simulation(DNS)case of boundary layer transition.The results show that the correlation between vorticity and Liutex is very small or even negative in strong shear regions,which demonstrates that using vorticity to detect vortex lacks scientific foundation and vorticity is not appropriate to represent vortex.The correlation analysis also shows that the second generation is contaminated too by shear and thus is not accurate to identify the vortex structure.

The multiple regression formulas and correlation of ocular components with refractive errors are presented by Gaussian optics. The refractive error changing rate for the cornea and lens power, the axial length, anterior chamber depth(ACD) and vitreous chamber depth(VCD) are calculated, including nonlinear terms for more accurate rate functions than the linear theory. Our theory, consistent with the empirical data, shows that the Pearson correlation coefficients for spherical equivalent(SE) and ocular components are highest for SE with axial length, ACD and VCD and weakest for corneal power, lens power and lens thickness. Moreover, our regression formulas show the asymmetric feature of the correlation that the axial length, ACD and VCD are more strongly correlated(with higher negative regression constants) with refractive errors in eyes with hyperopia than in eyes with myopia, particularly for severe hyperopia.

Purpose:During fracture fixation,the size of tibial nail is a vital factor affecting the outcomes and thus preoperative estimation of tibial nail length is very important.This study aims to find out whether"olecranon to 5th metacarpal head"(O-MH)measurement can be used to reliably predict the tibial nail length.Methods:This was a cross sectional study involving 100 volunteers.Measurements were done and recorded by two observers on two separate occasions.Tibial nail length estimation measurement was done from highest point of tibial tuberosity to the tip of the medial malleolus(TT-MM).O-MH measurement was taken from tip of olecranon to the tip of 5th metacarpal head with wrist in neutral position and hand clenched.Statistical analysis was done to find out correlation between two measurements and influence of age,gender and body mass index on them.Results:Paired t-test showed no systematic error between the readings.Intraclass correlation coefficient showed strong agreement in inter and intra observer settings.Strong correlation was found between the TT-MM&O-MH measurements using Pearson's correlation coefficient test(r=0.966).Hierarchical regression analysis showed age,gender and BMI have no statistically significant bearings on these measurements and their correlations.Conclusion:O-MH measurement is a useful and accurate means of estimating tibial nail length preoperatively.

Lidar ratios and AngstrOm exponents of continental,maritime,and desert aerosols were calculated to evaluate the effects of aerosol composition on these parameters.Their correlation was assessed using correlation analysis and curve fitting.The Pearson correlation coefficient between the lidar ratio and the AngstrOm exponent was larger than 0.95 in all cases.We verified the reliability of the Pearson correlation coefficient using the significance test.The relationship between the lidar ratio and the Angstrom expo- nent of continental aerosol can be described by a cubic polynomial model;thus,the function relation between the change in lidar ratios at different laser wavelengths depends on the fitting coefficients and the AngstrOm exponent.The relationship between the lidar ratio and the AngstrOm exponent of both maritime and desert aerosols can be described by a linear model.In these aerosols,the linear change in lidar ratios at different laser wavelengths remains unaffected by the AngstrOm exponent.The changes in the lidar ratio in maritime aerosol at 355nm and 532nm are -0.7times and -0.18times that at 1064nm, respectively.For desert aerosol,the changes in the lidar ratio at 355nm and 532nm are 0.37 times and 1.88times that at 1064nm,respectively.

Background Risperidone (RSP) has a rapid onset in vivo, low dosage and high plasma protein binding rate, therefore therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is needed to ensure safety in clinical treatment. However, compared with blood, hair is non-invasive, safe, non-infectious and easy to transport and store. Aims This study aims to investigate the correlations among the drug concentrations of RSP in hair and serum, which provides an experimental basis to explore hair as a novel biomaterial to meet the needs of clinical detection. Methods 34 patients with schizophrenia treated with RSP for more than 3 months were enrolled in this study. About 1 cm section of hair near the scalp was taken from the subjects, pretreated and detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. A correlation analysis was conducted among the drug concentrations in hair, the serum concentrations and the daily dosage. The data were analysed usi叩 SPSS 20.0 software. Results There was significant correlation between the hair concentration of RSP (two-tailed test, r=0.440, p=0.009) with the serum concentration of RSP, and the hair concentration of 9-hydroxyrisperidone (9-HR) with the serum concentration of 9-HR had no significant correlation (two-tailed test, r=-0.217, p=0.217);the total concentration of the RSP and 9-HR had no significant correlation between hair and serum (r=0.227, p=0.196). The dosage had no statistically significant correlation with the concentration of RSP in hair (r=0.207, p=0.241), 9-HR in hair (r=-0.194, p=0.271) and the total concentration of RSP and 9-HR in hair (r=0.188, p=0.288). There was no statistical correlation between the dosage and the concentration of RSP in serum (r=-0.059, p=0.741), but significant correlation between the dosage and 9-HR in serum (r=0.581 pcorrelation between the dosage and the total concentration of the two drugs RSP and 9-HR in serum was also significant (r=0.437, p=0.01).
