comprehensiveness and Locality: Website Marketing of World City Governments in the Era of Globalisation

In the era of the Internet and globalisation, more and more international academics focus their attention on how city governments compete for talent, capital, and technology through website marketing to promote their economy and global status. However, 1) present research generally overlooks the importance of different types of elements in different marketing themes, 2) the combinations of marketing themes are still unknown, and 3) the presumption that the emphasised elements and specific combination of marketing themes on official websites differentiates cities requires more cases to be understood. In light of this background, this study collects homepage elements of 49 Alpha world cities' official websites and quantitatively analyses the frequency of different types of elements, the marketing content themes, and the dissimilarity of content of Chinese Alpha world cities. The results indicate that comprehensiveness and locality appear in the process of city marketing throughout official city websites. Overall, we make the following conclusions. 1) The importance of different kinds of elements significantly differs between 49 Alpha world cities. 2) Based on various combinations of elements, the marketing contents of Alpha world cities through official websites can be categorised into six themes of history and culture, government and information, construction and environment, government and living, construction and living, and general compound. 3) The marketing elements of five Chinese Alpha world cities, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Guangzhou, are different than the other 44 Alpha world cities, and Chinese cities prefer to advertise their history and culture but rarely market citizens' activities. Moreover, Chinese cities' marketing mostly targets natives while the other 44 Alpha cities target external groups, and the locality of world cities' website marketing is reinforced especially on a native language edition website. Blood-based biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease:Standardization and comprehensiveness

The Scientometric Measurement of Interdisciplinarity and Diversity in the Research Portfolios of Chinese Universities

Purpose:Interdisciplinarity is a hot topic in science and technology ***,the concept of interdisciplinarity is both abstract and complex,and therefore difficult to measure using a single indicator.A variety of metrics for measuring the diversity and interdisciplinarity of articles,journals,and fields have been proposed in the *** this article,we ask whether institutions can be ranked in terms of their(inter-)disciplinary ***/methodology/approach:We developed a software application(interd_***)that outputs the values of relevant diversity indicators for any document set or network *** software is made available,free to the public,*** indicators it considers include the advanced diversity indicators Rao-Stirling(RS)diversity and DIV*,as well as standard measures of diversity,such as the Gini coefficient,Shannon entropy,and the Simpson *** an empirical demonstration of how the application works,we compared the research portfolios of 42“Double First-Class”Chinese universities across Web of Science Subject Categories(WCs).Findings:The empirical results suggest that DIV*provides results that are more in line with one’s intuitive impressions than RS,particularly when the results are based on sampledependent disparity ***,the scores for diversity are more consistent when based on a global disparity matrix than on a local *** limitations:“Interdisciplinarity”can be operationalized as bibliographic coupling among(sets of)documents with references to *** the institutional level,however,diversity may also indicate *** impact(***),diversity and interdisciplinarity are context-specific and therefore provide a second dimension to the *** or practical implications:Operationalization and quantification make it necessary for analysts to make their choices and options *** the equations used to calculate diversity are often mathematically

From Teacher-Education University to Comprehensive University:Case Studies of East China Normal University,Southwest University and Yanbian University

Three different“logics”—that of the internal strategies of the institutions,the economic pressures of the socialist market economy and the political policies of the state drive the development of a *** dynamic interaction and coexistence of the three logics has determined the transformation models of teacher-education or normal universities in *** paper aims at describing and analyzing both the process and the forces that led to these transformations by taking East China Normal University(ECNU),Southwest University(SWU)and Yanbian University(YBU)as *** on government and market resources has put these universities into a dilemma:On the one hand,they wanted to retain their original features so as to preserve their leading position in the“teacher education”market,and on the other,they needed to merge,expand,restructure and enhance their quality as they pursued overall *** case analyses show that the teacher-education university’s need for self-development,which is the internal determinant,plays a critical role in its *** the same time,the socioeconomic environment and national policies influence the institution while it displays considerable capacity for self-adjustment.

随着科学技术的发展，智慧警务成为警察权行使的新模式。电子监控、大数据等新型技术设备不间断捕捉违法行为，将瞬时记录的数据信号加工成影像资料等证据形式，使得公安机关发现和查明违法的能力大幅提高。但技术设备赋予执法者的不只是自动化、快节奏的处理流程，还有全新的调查义务。公安机关需要回答更多有关技术设备本身、违法事实固定以及后续处理流程等方面的问题，同时厘清数字技术引入给全面调查义务带来哪些新的变化：哪些义务由机器代劳，哪些义务因机器产生。面对智慧警务带来的全新挑战，首先应当通过技术的改进优化调查手段，克服技术能力分布的差异性，增强行政调查过程的合法性论证；对于当前技术难以解决的，通过规范构建和政策调整形成统一的制度选择，为执法实践提供类型化指引。

基于货物结构的中国沿海港口运输职能判别

采用2013年中国沿海各港口的分类货物吞吐量数据，从综合性/专业化、职能规模、职能地位等视角判别其运输职能类型，并探究综合性/专业化与港口规模的关系，既考虑港口自身的货物结构，又兼顾各类货物在全国沿海港口体系中的地位。研究发现：港口的综合性/专业化与港口规模存在较弱的相关性，规模越大，综合性特征越显著，反之，专业化特征越突出；煤炭、金属矿石、石油、矿建材料等大宗货物是沿海港口的主要运输职能，尤其是煤炭运输在绝大多数沿海港口中占有重要地位，是港口形成专业化职能的核心要素；各类货物作为主要货种和优势货种的空间分布不尽相同；根据是否具有突出职能及综合性/专业化判别，沿海港口可以划分为六种运输职能类型。
