The electromagnetic scattering of chiral metamaterials is simulated with the Mie series *** on the spherical harmonics vector function in chiral metamaterials,the electromagnetic fields inside and outside of chiral metamaterials sphere are *** applying the continuous boundary condition between the chiral metamaterials and surrounding medium,and the transformation from linearly to circularly polarized electric field components,the co-polarized and cross-polarized bistatic radar cross scattering（RCS） of chiral metamaterials sphere are *** to overcome the instability of chiral metamaterials sphere of Mie series formula is *** electromagnetic scattering of chiral metamaterials,normal media and metamaterials are *** numerical results show that the existence of chirality.ξ of chiral metamaterials can decrease the bistatic RCS compared with the same size as normal media sphere.

Wave Polarization Scattering and Transmission Property in Randomly Distributed Chiral Spheroids

In this paper, the scattering amplitude functions of a spatially-oriented chiral spheroid are derived. Polarization scattering from a layer of randomly distributed chiral spheroids in the Mueller matrix solution is obtained. Co-polarized and de-polarized backscattering and polarization degree for any polarized incidence are numerically calculated. Transmissions of coherent waves with four Stokes parameters through the layer are also discussed. Comparisons of polarization scattering from the chiral and achiral particulate media demonstrate the chirality.effect on wave scattering and transmission.

Anisotropic Thermally-Accessible Lattice Distortion of a Cu（ll）-Cr（VI） Complex Bimetallic Oxide by Adsorbing a Chiral One-Dimensional Cu（ll）-Cr（VI） Coordination Polymer

The authors have prepared and characterized a chiral one-dimensional Cu（II）-Cr（VI） coordination polymer, [CuL2][Cr207] （L = （IR, 2R）-diaminocyclohexane）, which exhibited intense d-d bands as well as charge transfer bands in the solid state electronic and CD spectra. Thermally-accessible lattice distortion was observed along the crystallographic a axis, which corresponded to Jahn-Teller distortion of Cu（II） chromophores. After firing [CuL2][Cr207], they could obtain a Cu（II）-Cr（VI） complex bimetallic oxide showing ferromagnetism and isotropic thermally-accessible lattice distortion. Preparation of composite materials of the coordination polymers and a complex bimetallic oxide could be confirmed by IR spectra and magnetic properties. It should be noted that the complex bimetallic oxide as the composite exhibited anisotropic thermally-accessible lattice distortion by adsorption of the chiral one-dimensional coordination polymer.

Novel Thermally-Accessible Structural Changes of Chiral and Some Related Cu（ll） Complexes

A mononuclear chiral copper（ll） complex, [Cu（RRchxn）2（C（CN）3）2]＇H20 （RRchxn = （1R, 2R）-diaminocyclohexane）（RRchxnH）, and its deuterated compound, [Cu（RRchxn）2（C（CN）3）z].D20 （RRchxnD）, and their isomers, [Cu（trchxn）2（C（CN）3）2]＇H20 （trchxn = trans-l,2-diaminocyclohexane）（trchxnH） and [Cu（trchxn）2（C（CN）3）2]＇D20 （trchxnD） have been prepared and characterized by means of 1R （infrared）, electronic, and CD （circular dichroism） spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and variable-temperature X-ray crystallography as single crystals or powder. Interestingly, depending on grain size of samples, RRchxnH exhibits the monoclinic form and the orthorhombic form, which are distinguished by systematic absence and powder XRD （X-ray diffraction） patterns clearly. Although single crystals did not exhibit phase transition, powder XRD patterns of RRchxnH and weakly hydrogen bonded RRchxnD emerged low-temperature phase of monoclinic in the orthorhombic patterns only around 200-220 K. However, as a control, powder XRD patterns of both trchxnH and trchxnD did not exhibit such phase transition clearly.

Observation of Reciprocal Induced CD between Colloidal Gold Nanoparticles and Chiral Schiff Base Zn （11） Complexes with Parallel Dipole Moments

The authors have prepared suprameolecular systems of chiral Schiffbase ZnAZSB （Zn（II） complexes with azo-groups） or without ZnSB （azo-groups） and colloidal AuNP （gold nanoparticles） of 10, 40 and 80 nm diameters. They exhibited gradual shifts of surface plasmon bands as well as fluorescence bands. The authors observed and discussed induced CD bands on gold nanoparticles from chiral ZnAZSB or ZnSB. Absence of cis-trans photoisomerization of ZnAZSB with AuNP also supported direct contact near the surface of AuNP. Quenching and splitting of fluorescence bands of ZnSB （λex = 550 nm and λem = 400 nm） depending on concentration of ZnSB and size of AuNP also suggested intermolecular （electric） interaction on the surface of AuNE Decrease of the intensity of the CD band around 380 nm resulted from reciprocal induced CD effect due to parallel arrangement of electric transition moments of ZnAZSB or ZnSB and surface of AuNP.
