Achieving high fouling resistance and permeability using membrane separation technology in water treatment processes remains a *** this work,a novel mixed-matrix membrane(MMM)(poly(arylene ether ketone)[PAEK]-containing carboxyl groups[PAEK-COOH]/UiO-66-NH_(2)@graphene oxide[GO])with superb fouling resistance and high permeability was prepared by the nonsolvent-induced phase separation method,by in-situ growth of UiO-66-NH_(2) on the GO layer,and by preparing hydrophilic *** the basis of the structure and performance analysis of the MMM,the maximum water flux reached 591.25 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1) for PAEK-COOH/UiO-66-NH_(2)@GO,whereas the retention rate for bovine serum albumin increased from 85.40%to 94.87%.As the loading gradually increased,the hydrophilicity of the MMMs increased,significantly enhancing their fouling *** strongest anti-fouling ability observed was 94.74%,which was 2.02 times greater than that of the pure *** the same time,the MMMs contained internal amide and hydrogen bonds during the preparation process,forming a cross-linked structure,which further enhanced the mechanical strength and chemical *** summary,the MMMs with high retention rate,strong permeability,and anti-fouling ability were successfully prepared.

First-principles characterization of formate and carboxyl adsorption on stoichiometric CeO_2(111)and CeO_2(110) surfaces

Molecular adsorption of formate and carboxyl on stoichiometric CeO2（111） and CeO2（110） surfaces was studied using periodic density functional theory （DFT＋U） calculations. Two distinguishable adsorption modes （strong and weak） of formate are identified. The bidentate configuration is more stable than the monodentate adsorption configuration. Both formate and carboxyl bind at the more open CeO2（110） surface are stronger. The calculated vibrational frequencies of two adsorbed species are consistent with the experimental measurements. Fi- nally, the effects of U parameters on the adsorption of formate and carboxyl over both CeO2 surfaces were investigated. We found that the geometrical configurations of two adsorbed species are not affected by different U parameters （U = 0, 5, and 7）. However, the calculated ad- sorption energy of carboxyl pronouncedly increases with the U value while the adsorption energy of formate only slightly changes （〈0.2 eV）. The Bader charge analysis shows the opposite charge transfer occurs for formate and carboxyl adsorption where the adsorbed formate is neg- atively charge while the adsorbed carboxyl is positively charged. Interestingly, with the increasing U parameter, the amount of charge is also increased.

Preparation and Characterization of carboxyl Functionalized Fluorescent Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles Containing 8-Hydroxyquinolinate Zinc Complexes

Fluorescent mesoporous silica nanoparticles functionalized with carboxyl group(Znq-CMSCOOH) were successfully synthesized by in situ formation route of 8-hydroxyquinolinate zinc complexes in channels of mesoporous silica nanoparticles and post-grafting of carboxyl group on the surface. Moreover,the particle size and structural properties of Znq-CMS-COOH were characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),dynamic light scattering(DLS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),UV-vis spectrometer, fluorescence spectrometer and nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements. The obtained results suggest that the Znq-CMS-COOH presents the uniform spherical shape with the mean diameter of about 85 nm and the obvious wormhole arrangement mesoporous. In addition, the Znq-CMS-COOH possesses green fluorescence with the emission peaks at 495 nm. So the Znq-CMS-COOH, which is beneficial to further modification and tracing, might be a great potential carrier for applying in drug delivery system in the future.

Ultra-microporous Metal-organic Framework with High Concentration of Free carboxyl Groups and Lewis Basic Sites for CO_2 Capture at Ambient Conditions

How to rationally design effective and practical CO_2 adsorbent is a great challenge. Herein, an ultra-microporous metal-organic framework(FJI-H19) with high concentration of free carboxyl groups and uncoordinated Lewis basic sites has been synthesized from a multi-dental ligand with a high proportion of polar CO_2-philic atoms. FJI-H19 displays a relatively high CO_2 volumetric uptake(120 cm^3?cm^(–3)) with high selectivity under practical atmosphere(298 K and 1 bar). Further researches demonstrate that such high adsorption results from an unusual synergistic effect from free carboxyl group and uncoordinated N atoms. This result will provide a potential strategy for developing more effective and pratical CO_2 adsorbent based on MOFs.

Preparation of large colored microspheres with carboxyl groups for cell surface labelling

The purpose of this experiment is to prepare a kind of large colored microspheres which can be observed under optical microscope and used for cell labelling. In the presence of organic solvent, electrolyte and dye, microspheres [styrene/acrylamide/dye (St AAm-Dye ) copolymerJ were synthesized from styrene and acrylamide by means of emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization. The carboxyl groups on the surface were derived from acrylarnide by hydrazinolysis and carboxylate reaction. The diameters of microspheres and the content of carboxyl groups on the surface were measured. The effect of the polymerization condition on microsphere size was discussed. The diam6ter of the colored microsphere was 3±0. 05μm; the content of carboxyl groups on the surface was 190. 5μmol/g (dry solids). The results indicate that it would be possible to obtain monodisperse and colored large polymer microspheres by this reported method.

Study on the Effect of carboxyl Terminated Butadiene Acrylonitrile (CTBN) Copolymer Concentration on the Decomposition Kinetics Parameters of Blends of Glycidyl Epoxy and Non-Glycidyl Epoxy Resin

The degradation of the epoxy system was studied for the prepared six blend samples with the incorporation of 0 wt% - 25 wt% carboxyl terminated butadiene acrylonitrile (CTBN) copolymer, on a dynamic basis using Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) technique under a nitrogen atmosphere. The blends were prepared by physical mixing and were cured with diamine. The degradation of each sample followed second-order degradation kinetics, which was calculated by Coats-Redfern equation using best-fit analysis. This was further confirmed by linear regression analysis. The validity of data was checked by t-test statistical analysis. From this value of reaction order, activation energy (E), and pre-exponential factor (Z) were calculated. It was found that the activation energy increased with the addition of liquid elastomer.

THE CRYSTAL AND MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF DIPOTASSIUM TRIS(HYDROXYACETATO) VANADYL(ⅠⅩ) MONOHYDRATE

The title compound has been prepared by reaction of VOSO4 with hydroxyacetic acid in aqueous solution, adding KOH to a suitable pH value. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/b with cell parameters: α=10.075（2）, b=9.857（3）, c=14.314（3）, γ=115.29（2）°, Z=4. Intensities of 1714 independent reflexions having I≥3σ（I） were collected on a CAD4 diffractometer with MoKα radiation. The structure was solved by Patterson and direct methods and refined by full matrix least-squares method to R=0.060. In the complex the ratio of centric V atom to hydroxyacetate ligands is M:L=1:3, two hydroxyacetate ligands are chelated to V atom in a cis arrangement, the other is monodentate ligand with a carboxyl O atom to grasp the cation VO2+.

Presents a toughened epoxy risen based on diglycidylether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) cured with ethylene diamine (EDA) and modified with a carboxyl terminated acrylonitrile butadiene (CTBN), studies morphologies with different rubber content and analyses the influence of rubber phase morphology corresponding to different rubber contents on mechanical properties (elastic modulus, uniaxial compression yield stress, shearing strength, uneven tensile strength, critical stress intensity factor K ic  and strain energy release rate G ic ) of toughened epoxies.
