Hyperbranched polymer structures represent a class of high-functionality building blocks with excellent three-dimensional topology for the construction of highly substituted conjugated polymers.In this contribution,an efficient microwave synthesis protocol toward the synthesis of conjugated hyperbranched polymers is presented.A novel series of soluble hyperbranched polyfluorenes (PTF1-PTF3) incorporating triazatruxene moiety as the branch units with various branching degrees have thus been successfully constructed with good yields and high molecular weight via a facile "A2+B2+C3" approach.The structures of the hyperbranched polymers were confirmed by NMR and GPC.Their thermal,optical,and electrochemical properties of the hyperbranched polymers were also investigated.The results showed that introduction of triazatruxene units into the hyperbranched structure endowed the polymer with good thermal stability and highly amorphous properties.Photophysical investigation of PTFx revealed strong blue emission in both solution and solid states.Hyperbranched polymers with higher degree of branching and proper content of linear fluorene units exhibited better photophysical properties in terms of narrow emission spectra and relatively high quantum efficiency as well as improved thermal spectral stability.The triazatruxene branching unit also played a role in raising the HOMO energy levels relative to those of polyfluorenes that would help to improve the charge injection and transport properties.The incorporation of triazatruxene unit into hyperbranched polymers has thus explored an effective avenue for constructing optoelectronic polymers with improved functional characteristics.

Understanding the influence of environmental variables on the spatial distribution of ecological communities is essential to predict the response of vegetation to various environmental drivers.Ecological theory suggests that multiple environmental factors shape local species assemblages and should influence the various components of community structure and composition in different ways.This study aimed to classify Pinus wallichiana dominated forests in the Swat Hindukush range mountains to understand the relative influence of multiple environmental filters on its composition and structure.These forests represent the most typical of the species distribution in northern Pakistan and were not subjected to any phytosociological study.For this purpose,thirty forest stands,spanning a wide range of physical habitats were sampled using 10910 m plots and the importance value index was calculated.The floristic and environmental data were subjected to Ward’s agglomerative cluster analysis for objective classification and ordinated with NMS ordination for pattern description and testing the vegetation–environmental relationships.Three floristically and ecologically distinct communities were recognized along the topographic gradient(elevation,r=0.377;slope,r=0.5548)coupled with soil physical(clay,r=0.2782;silt,r=0.3225)and chemical properties(pH,r=0.4975;lime,r=3982).An elevation gradient of 100 m separated the low(Pinus wallichiana–Quercus dilatata community)and middle elevations forest stands(P.wallichiana pure population)from the highland population type(Pinus wallichiana–Cedrus deodara community).The floristics and structure of these forest types respond directly or indirectly to topographic and soil variables which were evidenced from the floristic composition,species richness,and community physiognomy.These characteristics of the communities changed from heterogenous,dense stands to sparsely dispersed conifers,broadleaved-evergreen,and deciduous vegetation types along the environmental gradients.We concluded that severa

Background:Observing interstitial fluid(ISF)is very difficult because interstitial structure collapses and ISF disappears after tissue fixation.Additionally,ISF is colorless,and interstitial flow is weak in vivo.In order to view the interstitial flow,special dye and animal model was chosen to explore the movement characteristic of interstitial flow and related structure.Methods:The Gephyrocharax Melanocheir(GM)fish,a special animal with translucent body,were placed into 0.03 g/L tricain solution for anesthesia.20-25μL Alcian blue(AB)solution which can stain acid mucopolysaccharide immobilized by the collagen net in connective tissue was injected into each fish at a single point with a rate of 2 μL/min via a micro-injection pump.The process of infusion and the movement of the AB in fish were record by a digital camera.The(fresh)frozen sections of AB tracks tissue were performed to observe the morphological feature.Results:Several blue tracks were observed which were formed by longitudinal directional movements of AB solution.For back lateral track,the velocity and length of the movements were significantly fast and longer on the direction toward head than that toward tail(Pblue septa formed various shapes as interstitial space for ISF flow and connected with one another like a net.The finding can help us to understand the essence of meridian in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Conclusions:The dynamic asymmetry of the AB tracks revealed interstitial flow in the GM fish body.It implied an inherent interstitial flow along particular pathway formed by septa which may be a key to understand the nature and value of meridians and collaterals in health care.

An evaluation of OSOM BV blue test in the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis

Objective:To determine the prevalence of bacterial vaginosis(BV) in patients with vaginal discharge and evaluate the efficacy of OSOM BV blue test in diagnosis.Methods:OSOM BV blue test,a rapid diagnostic test based on the principle of detection of bacterial sialidase activity in vaginal fluid specimens was conducted.A total of 405 patients in the reproductive age group(15- 45 years) having vaginal discharge were included in the study along with 10 healthy age-matched controls.Two high vaginal swabs were collected aseptically from each patient.One swab was used to make smear for gram staining,and the other was for OSOM BV blue test.Amine test and vaginal pH test were taken as well.Results:The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was 60.7%. OSOM BV blue test showed good efficacy,as compared with gram staining in diagnosing BV.The sensitivity and specificity of OSOM BV blue test were 97.6%and 97.5%respectively.Amsel’s criteria diagnosed 180(44.4%) cases of BV and had sensitivity and specificity of 67.1%and 90.6%respectively.Thus the performance of OSOM BV blue was better than the methods based on Amsel’s criteria.Conclusions:OSOM BV blue test is an efficacious bed side test,helpful in rapidly making an accurate diagnosis of BV in setups lacking laboratory facilities or expert microbiologists.

Incorporation of guest ions into porous frameworks changed magnetism of the host materials significantly. However, in most cases, the guest ions were monovalent due to lack of reliable method to insert divalent and trivalent guest ions. In this work, we demonstrated that divalent and trivalent metal ions could be inserted into frameworks of a coordinate polymer, Cu3[Fe(CN)6]2, through electrochemical intercalation. The magnetism of the host frameworks was changed among paramagnetic, superparamagnetic, and ferromagnetic as demonstrated by physical property measurement system (PPMS). Furthermore, the magnetization of the frameworks under low temperatures correlated to the guest ions significantly. The ionic radius and net charge of the guest ions influenced the intercalation amount of the guest ions, therefore affected the valence change of Fe3+ ions in the host frameworks, finally leading to variation of the magnetism of the host materials.

A study was conducted from 2010 to 2017 to determine the water footprint for producing blueberries in the Entre Ríos province of Argentina. Three cultivars of southern highbush blueberry (hybrid cross of Vaccinium sp.) were evaluated in the study, including “Star”, “Emerald”, and “Snowchaser”. In each case, the plants were irrigated by drip and protected from frost using overhead sprinklers. Water requirements for irrigation and frost protection varied among the cultivars due to differences in the timing of flowering and fruit development. The annual water footprint for fruit production in each cultivar is expressed in units of cubic meters of water used to produce one ton of fresh fruit and ranged from 212 - 578 m3∙t−1 for “Star”, 296 - 985 m3∙t−1 for “Emerald”, and 536 - 4066 m3∙t−1 for “Snowchaser”. “Snowchaser” flowered earlier than the other cultivars and, therefore, needed more water for frost protection. “Star”, on the other hand, ripened the latest among the cultivars and required little to no water for frost protection. Frost protection required a minimum of 30 m3∙h−1 of water per hectare and in addition to drip irrigation was a major component of the water footprint.
