The teaching abilities of bilingual teachers have emerged as one of the major bottlenecks hindering the further development of Chinese-foreign cooperative education projects.Implementing the JiTT(Just-in-Time Teaching)model in bilingual courses of Chinese-foreign cooperative education can effectively integrate information technology with traditional classroom teaching.This integration enhances teaching quality and effectiveness,encourages university instructors to improve their diverse and collective capabilities,promotes digital development,and contributes to the enhancement of students’learning abilities and overall improvement.

The goal of this paper was to examine promising effects of a bilingual family literacy program: to track the changes of families’ literacy activities through a bilingual family literacy intervention, and to examine the children literacy gains in both Chinese and English across socioeconomic sub-groups. The intervention was an eight-week, two hours per week, literacy program in three Chinese communities in Toronto. Parents, with their children, participated in the program. The extremely high attendance rate provided evidence that families enjoyed the family literacy intervention and felt that the sessions were worthwhile. For their families’ literacy activities, the three sites followed the same trend: reaching the peak of activity at week four, slightly dropping down at weeks five and six, and then increasing to a second peak at week seven or week eight. Results also showed that across the three groups, children of mothers with lower education levels made fewer gains in their English expressive vocabularies and their Chinese expressive vocabularies, than children whose mothers had a higher level of education.

Under the new situation of the deepening China’s reform, opening up and entering into WTO, education meets new challenges. bilingual teaching is the demands of entering WTO of our country and enhancing international competition, is the developing requests of information and Internet times, is a certain trend of developing diathesis education. It makes students capture knowledge in English, improving students’ applying English ability, meanwhile it makes English and special knowledge infiltrate each other. bilingual teaching is one of methods of bettering students and teachers’ English level.

As the development of technology and education,translation has become a special field with an increasing importance in the society.As a consequence,monolingual and bilingual dictionaries have more vital functions during the process of translating.Due to the limitation of this paper,the author will only discuss the process of translating.The view taken here,representing the thesis of this essay,is by analyzing the process of how the students of English major use bilingual dictionaries during their translating process from English to Chinese,to get data and way on their translating process and the elements that could contribute to suitable bilingual dictionaries for the students.

It is a known fact that monolingual children will take advantage of the principle of mutual exclusivity(ME)in the process of early word learning,i.e.,the names of two different objects are mutually exclusive(one label for one referent).With the help of ME,they can expand their vocabulary effectively with a rapid speed.However,for bilingual children,it seems this principle is not that friendly to them,since they are exposed to two languages at the same time,so there could be at least two labels for the same referent.Hence bilingual children may be confused and encounter difficulties in learning words,which will slower their word learning process.This paper tries to,based on earlier research,probe into the question that how bilingual children acquire words without the help of ME,and explore whether there are advantages of not using ME in word learning for bilingual children.

Speech helps us to communicate with our loved ones and significant others through construction of grammatically coherent sentences that are comprehensible to our communication partners. As such, impairment of this ability as a result of stroke can be debilitating and disabling to the patients as well as significant others. Agrammatism is deficit in the use and processing of grammatically coherent syntactic structures following damage to the Broca’s complex or region. Most studies have traditionally emphasized monolingual patients, with bilingualism now receiving increased attention. However, few studies have specifically investigated the effect of minor stroke on agrammatic bilingual individuals. This study examined an agrammatic Yoruba- English bilingual patient with minor stroke with a view to describing their sentence production (deficit). The findings strongly support the existence of distinct language-specific lexical-subsystem centres in the Broca’s complex for native and acquired languages (Yoruba-English) whereas both languages are likely connected to a single semantic system in the anterior temporal lobe and its surrounding regions. Furthermore, acquired language is more susceptible to brain damage than native language. This might imply that severity of deficit in speech production in both native and acquired language of bilingual aphasics may be determined by the size of lesion in the Broca’s complex or region.
