Support vector machine(SVM)has a good application prospect for speech recognition problems;still optimum parameter selection is a vital issue for *** improve the learning ability of SVM,a method for searching the optimal parameters based on integration of predator prey optimization(PPO)and Hooke-Jeeves method has been *** PPO technique,population consists of prey and predator *** prey particles search the optimum solution and predator always attacks the global best prey *** solution obtained by PPO is further improved by applying Hooke-Jeeves *** method is applied to recognize isolated words in a Hindi speech database and also to recognize words in a benchmark database TI-20 in clean and noisy environment.A recognition rate of 81.5%for Hindi database and 92.2%for TI-20 database has been achieved using proposed technique.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the mean size formula of wavelet packets （wavelet subdivision tree） on Heisenberg group. The formula is given in terms of the p-norm joint spectral radius. The vector refinement equations on Heisenberg group and the subdivision tree on the Heisenberg group are discussed. The mean size formula of wavelet packets can be used to describe the asymptotic behavior of norm of the subdivision tree.

Because of the correlation of images,the efficiency of the standard ICA is not satisfied in the blind source separation (BSS) of ***,a new method of sub-band ICA with selection criterion is proposed for this ***,the sub-bands of the new method are made up of the wavelet packets (WP) ***,the selection criterion of the new method is a combination of the mutual information (MI),kurtosis and *** sub-band or a sub-bands group obtained from the new method are more suitable as the inputs parameters of the algorithm of ICA than mixed *** new method has been applied into the BSS of partially dependent images and highly dependent images *** to the separation experiments,it is shown that the separation efficacy of the new method is more accurate and robust.

This paper advances a new approach based on wavelet and wavelet packet transforms in tandem with a fuzzy cluster neural network,abbreviated *** and wavelet packets decompose a vibration signal into different bands at different levels and provides multiresolution or multiscale views of a signal which is stationary or nonstationary. Fuzzy mathematics processes uncertain problems in engineering and converts the attributes extracted by wavelet packets to fuzzy membership *** achieve self-organizing classification,the MAXNET neural network is *** integrates the advantages of wavelet packets and fuzzy cluster with *** approach is adopted to process and classify vibration signal of a NH_3 compressor in a petrochemical *** results indicate that it is a useful and effective intelligence classification in the field of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.

In this paper,a wavelet packet based adaptive filter-bank construction method is proposed,with additive Fisher ratio used as wavelet packet tree pruning criterion.A novel acoustic feature named discriminative band wavelet packet power coefficients(db-WPPC) is proposed and on this basis,a speech emotion recognition system is *** results show that the proposed feature improves emotion recognition performance over the conventional MFCC feature.
