Model Set Adaptation(MSA)plays a key role in the variable structure Multi-Model tracking approach(VSMM).In this paper,the Error-Ambiguity Decomposition(EAD)principle is adopted to derive the EAD-MSA criterion that is optimal in the sense of minimizing the square error between the estimate and the ***,the EAD variable structure first-order General Pseudo Bayesian(EAD-VSGPB1)algorithm and the EAD variable structure Interacting Multiple Model(EAD-VSIMM)algorithm are *** proposed algorithms are tested in two groups of maneuvering target tracking scenarios under different modes and observation error *** simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the EAD-VSMM approach and show that,compared to some existing multi-model algorithms,the proposed EAD-VSMM algorithms achieve more robust and accurate tracking results.

Photostrictive actuators can produce photodeformation strains under illumination of ultraviolet lights. They can realize non-contact micro-actuation and vibration control for elastic plate structures. Considering the switching actuation and nonlinear dynamic characteristics of photostrictive actuators, a variable structure fuzzy active control scheme is presented to control the light intensity applied to the actuators. Firstly, independent modal vibration control equations of photoelectric laminated plates are established based on modal analysis techniques. Then, the optimal light switching function is derived to increase the range of sliding modal area, and the light intensity self-adjusting fuzzy active controller is designed. Meanwhile, a continuous function is applied to replace a sign function to reduce the variable structure control （VSC） chattering. Finally, numerical simulation is carried out, and simulation results indicate that the proposed control strategy provides better performance and control effect to plate actuation and control than velocity feedback control, and suppresses vibration effectively.

The trajectory of a shipbome radar target has a certain complexity, randomness, and diversity. Tracking a strong maneuvering target timely, accurately, and effectively is a key technology for a shipbome radar tracking system. Combining a variable structure interacting multiple model with an adaptive grid algorithm, we present a variable structure adaptive grid inter- acting multiple model maneuvering target tracking method. Tracking experiments are performed using the proposed method for five maneuvering targets, including a uniform motion - uniform acceleration motion target, a uniform acceleration motion - uni- form motion target, a serpentine locomotion target, and two variable acceleration motion targets. Experimental results show that the target position, velocity, and acceleration tracking errors for the five typical target trajectories are small. The method has high tracking precision, good stability, and flexible adaptability.

An H-infinifty variable structure control is presented for singular Markov switched systems with mismatched norm-bounded uncertainties and mismatched norm-bounded external disturbances. It is shown that the sliding mode dynamics on the given switching surface is regular, impulse-free, and stochastically stable and satisfies H-infinity performance. A variable structure controller is designed to guarantee that the system trajectory converges to the linear switching surface in some finite time. Finally, a numerical example is solved to show the effectiveness and validness of the theoretical results.

The trajectory-tracking problem for mobile robot is considered. A compound finite-time tracking control linearization algorithm base on feedback linearization and variable structure is proposed, and the reaching-control law is used to drive the steering angle trajectory with large inertial error exponentially toward the given switching surface neighborhood. When the steering angle trajectory is inside the neighborhood, the chattering-free control law based on continuous state-feedback drives the trajectory to the switching surface precisely while converting the original nonlinear system into a reduced system;state-feedback control law for the reduced system is then designed to stabilize the position error in finite time. Numerical simulations show the desired trajectory is attained fully in finite-time without chattering.

Because the state of a free-floating space robot model is uncertain and sudden changes in the model parameters might undermine the stability of the system,this paper proposes a control strategy based on a variable structure neural integrated *** scheme does not need a precise space robot model,making use of the radial basis function neural network ability approach to learn about an uncertain *** network weights are adjusted online in *** the early period of the control phase and parameter changes,the variable structure controller compensates for the uncertain model which the neural network could not learn *** also creates global asymptotic stability for the whole closed-loop *** results show that the controller can handle bad changeable conditions and has important application value for defense,aerospace and other major security fields.
