OBJECTIVE: To establish a standardized framework encompassing the precise locations, manipulations,functions and indications of specific acupoints in the field of paediatric tuina. METHODS: The development of consensus involved three distinct stages. Initially, a list of paediatric tuina specific acupoints was compiled based on an extensive literature review, which was subsequently supplemented through expert interviews. In the second stage, the Delphi method was employed to assess the significance of acupoint locations, manipulations, functions, and indications. In situations where the questionnaire survey failed to yield agreement or when the experts held reservations, the nominal group approach was utilized during the expert consensus meeting. The final version of the technical standardized material was ultimately determined during an expert consensus conference. After undergoing external peer review and evaluation, the completed draft was prepared for public dissemination RESULTS: The comprehensive list identified a total of 66 specific acupoints. The location and manipulation questionnaire consisted of 156 items based on the literature database, while the function and indication questionnaire contained 116 items. Two rounds of Delphi surveys were conducted for the location and manipulation category, and another two rounds of Delphi surveys were conducted for the function and indication category. During the experts consensus meeting The panel of experts conducted in-depth discussions on 61 questions, resulting in the formulation of technical guidelines for the locations, manipulations, functions, and indications of 64 paediatric tuina acupoints. Subsequently, the research team compiled and edited the draft of the technical guidelines for acupoints of paediatric tuina, which was finalized after external review and feedback. OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the analgesic effect of tuina mainly from mechanically sensitive ion channels in peripheral myelinated nerve ***: A total of 40 healthy and pathogen-free adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were used in the study [weight:(220.0 ± 1.4) g, Shanghai Slac Laboratory Animal Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China; license No. Shanghai ICP 05033115]. The rats were housed in cages with free access to water and food in a temperature-controlled room [(22 ± 1) ℃] and12-h/12-h light-dark cycle. Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into five groups: naive, sham, chronic compression of dorsal root ganglion(CCD), tuina(7 d) and tuina(21 d). CCD rat model was established via unilateral DRG compression by"L"liked steel bar. Chinese tuina treatment was accepted once per day. Behavior monitoring of paw withdrawal threshold(PWT) and paw withdrawal latency(PWL) were tested. The expression of Piezo1 and Piezo2 in myelinated nerve fiber were analyzed by immunohistochemistry and ***: There was a high expression of Piezo2 and a low expression of Piezo1 in the naive and CCD groups. In contrast, the expression of Piezo2 was down regulated and Piezo1 was increased after a period of tuina. There was significant difference(P ≤ 0.05) between the ***: Our findings suggest that tuina therapy can increase the expression of Piezo2 and decrease the expression of Piezo1 in the test *** different changes in the expressions of Piezo1 and Piezo2 may play an important role in alleviating CCD-induced allodynia and hyperalgesia.

Clinical observation of tuina plus electroacupuncture for migraine due to liver-Yang hyperactivity

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage) plus electroacupuncture in treating migraine due to liver-Yang hyperactivity and the effects on the serum levels of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and prostaglandin (PG) E_(2). Methods: A total of 122 patients with migraine due to liver-Yang hyperactivity were recruited and randomized into a control group and an observation group, each consisting of 61 cases. The control group was given Tong Nao Huo Luo acupuncture (acupuncture treatment for unblocking brain collaterals), and the observation group was tuina treatment focusing on cervical Ashi points in addition to the intervention received by the control group. Both groups were treated once daily for 21 consecutive days. When the intervention finished, the two groups were observed for changes in the headache score, symptom and sign scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the severity of impact on life, and serum CGRP and PGE_(2) levels. The clinical efficacy was compared after 21 d of treatment. Results: The observation group had a higher total effective rate than the control group, 90.2% versus 73.8% (Ptuina at Ashi points, better alleviating the headache, improving TCM symptoms and body signs, and reducing the impact of headache on life. The mechanism may be associated with inhibiting the expression of serum pain factors CGRP and PGE_(2).
