To speed up the generation process of thiessen polygons from mass 2-D points, a parallel generator is designed and implemented. The generator efficiently parallelizes the Thiesen polygon generation procedure and achieves the same results as the non-parallel version does. Experimental results indicate the generator is able to speed up the generation procedure significantly. The generator could be applied to large- scale problems or problems with real time requirements.

CREATING BALANCED AND CONNECTED CLUSTERS TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY ROUTES IN LOGISTICS PLANNING

A challenging problem in real world logistics applications consists in planning service territories for customer deliveries, in contexts where customers must be clustered into groups that satisfy various conditions such as balance and connectivity. In this paper we propose new algorithms for producing such clusters based upon special procedures for exploiting thiessen polygons. Our methods are able to handle multiple criteria for balancing the clusters, such as the number of customers in each cluster, the service revenue in each cluster, or the delivery/pickup quantity in each cluster. Computational results demonstrate the efficacy of our new procedures, which are able to assist users to plan service personal service territories and vehicle routes more efficiently.

Distribution patterns and industry planning of commonly used traditional Chinese medicinal plants in China

Simulation of Heat and Mass Transfer in a Grain Pile on the Basis of a 2D Irregular Pore Network

The so-called pore network model has great advantages in describing the process of heat and mass transfer in porous *** order to construct a random two-dimensional(2D)irregular pore network model for an unconsolidated material,image processing technology was used to extract the required topological and geometric information from a 2D sample of soybean particles,and a dedicated algorithm was elaborated to merge some adjacent small *** on the extracted information,a 2D pore network model including particle information was reconstructed and verified to reflect the pore structure of discrete *** method was used to reconstruct a random 2D irregular pore network model of ***,a multi-scale heat and mass transfer model was implemented to simulate the drying of *** simulation results were consistent with the experimental results,which indicates that the reconstructed irregular pore network model can effectively simulate the real pore structure inside unconsolidated porous *** present approach may be regarded as the foundation for establishing in the future a three-dimensional pore network model and studying the heat and mass transfer process in a grain pile.

Extraction and Application of Small and Middle River Basins in Jiangxi Province

[Objective] The study aimed to develop the forecasting and early waming system of floods in small and middle river basins. [Methed] Taking small and middle rivers in Jiangxi Province as the research object, using the Hydro ArcTools module of arcgisl0, the digital drainage network and basin boundaries of Jiangxi Province were extracted from the 1：50 000 digital elevation model （ DEM） of Jiangxi Province. Afterwards, the geo- graphic information database of small and middle rivers were established, and areal precipitation in Chongyi region was calculated using thiessen polygon method based on precipitation data during June 20 -22, 2012. [Resttlt] When the threshold was 78 65,5, the extracted river systems and basin boundaries could meet the demand of actual application and could be used as the basic parameters of areal precipitation prediction model. The areal precipitation in Chongyi region was higher than 7 mm, and it was higher in the east compared with the west. [ Conclusion] The research could provide scientific references for the control and prevention of flood in future.

The spatial variation of crop yield was mainly caused by the complicated factors,such as soil and land *** on sound theoretical reasoning,the paper performed an exploratory investigation of the relationship between the spatial distribution of yield measurement about 849 samplings on thiessen *** sample size or sampling density is an assurance of yield estimation *** investigate the spatial structure of Ji wheat 22yield,we developed the comparison analysis of surface interpolation precision by stochastic samplings of 568,425,212 and 144 from a total of 849 samplings in zoning area,the other emphasis of the study was explored the influence of the distribution change of yield with the threshold of samplings numbers for the higher estimation *** first detected the presence of global spatial autocorrelation characteristics about the distribution of the thiessen polygon region generated yield measurement samplings,then with the support of IDW interpolation,the higher precision surface was analyzed and obtained by the comparison of 5 samplings *** yield thiessen polygon region of Ji wheat 22 tended to be clustered close to the high yield polygon region,the low yield thiessen polygon region tended to be clustered close to the low yield polygon *** is important to estimate the yield distribution for sampling density,samplings method,interpolation methods and sample size,we suggested that a suitable sample size of about 200 samplings should be used for Ji wheat22 yield developed from the sampling zoning to acquire the higher surface estimation precision,beyond or the samplings number,the estimation precision presented the fluctuation characteristics.
