THE tremendous impact of large models represented by ChatGPT[1]-[3]makes it necessary to con-sider the practical applications of such models[4].However,for an artificial intelligence(AI)to truly evolve,it needs to possess a physical“body”to transition from the virtual world to the real world and evolve through interaction with the real environments.In this context,“embodied intelligence”has sparked a new wave of research and technology,leading AI beyond the digital realm into a new paradigm that can actively act and perceive in a physical environment through tangible entities such as robots and automated devices[5].

The land overrun by weeds and water studded with reeds,it's time for pufferfish to AI&taoXING swim upstream.This is a line from a poem by Su Shi,a famous writer,calligrapher,painter and gourmet of the Northern Song Dynasty(960-1127).In 1085,Huichong,a painter and monk,invited Su to write a poem to accompany his painting River Scenes On a Spring Evening.Although there were no pufferfish in the artwork,Su's imagination of them into the scene has left him associated the delicacy to this day.

The proliferation and differentiation of adult stem cells must be tightly controlled in order to maintain resident tissue homeostasis. Dysfunction of stem cells is implicated in many human diseases, including cancer. However, the regulation of stem cell proliferation and differentiation is not fully understood. Here we show that the sterile-like 20 kinase, tao, controls tissue homeostasis by regulating the Hippo pathway in the Drosophila adult midgut. Depletion of tao in the progenitors leads to rapid intestinal stem cell （ISC） proliferation and midgut homeostasis loss. Meanwhile, we find that the Janus kinase （JAK）/signal transducer and activator of transcription （STAT） signaling activity and cytokine production are significantly increased, resulting in stimulated ISC proliferation. Furthermore, expression of the Hippo pathway downstream targets, Diapl and bantam, is dramatically increased in tao knockdown intestines. Consistently, we show that the Yorkie （Yki） acts downstream of tao to regulate ISC proliferation. Together, our results provide insights into our understanding of the mechanisms of stem cell proliferation and tissue homeostasis control.

Professor Weisun tao is a distinguished educator, a pioneering scientist of biochemical researches and one of the founders of the protein chemistry research in China (Fig. 1). She is a main founder of the Department of Chemistry at Utopia University, the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Biology at Jilin University. She was appointed as a professor in Utopia University, Northeast Institute of Technology, Jilin University, and the honorary director of the Chinese Biochemical Society. She also established the disciplines of organic chemistry and bio chemistry at Jilin University.

Psychopathological outcomes and defence mechanisms in clinically healed adults with a paediatric cancer history: an exploratory study

Background The incidence of paediatric cancers has increased in recent years;however,with advances in the treatment of paediatric cancer,almost 80%of children and adolescents who receive a diagnosis of cancer become long-term survivors.Given the high stress levels associated with cancer,it becomes important to ascertain the risk and likelihood of psychiatric disorders in adult paediatric cancer survivors.Aims This study aims to investigate the relationship between defence styles and predisposition to psychiatric diseases in adults with a history of paediatric cancer.Methods We performed an explorative study on a sample of 66 clinically healed adults with a history of paediatric cancer(survivors)during follow-up visits at the University Hospital‘Policlinico G Rodolico’of Catania(Italy)and 98 healthy controls among medicine students.We administered the Defence Mechanism Inventory(DMI)to assess defence styles.The Symptom Checklist-90-Revised(SCL-90-R)and the Davidson Trauma Scale(DTS)were administered to assess psychopathological indices.We conducted comprehensive statistical analysis based on correlation analysis and mediation analysis to investigate the relationship between defence styles and psychopathological outcomes in survivors compared with controls.Results The survivors obtained statistically significant lower values in tao,PRO and TAS defence styles and a higher value in REV.Both groups showed non-pathlogical mean scores in DTS and SCL-90-R(with an exception of the obsessive-compulsive subscale),with lower mean values among survivors.The results of mediation analysis showed that TAS had mediation effects on interpersonal sensitivity,anxiety,PSDI,GSI and avoidance,while tao had mediation effects on DTS total score and intrusivity.Thus,for these psychopathological indices,the effect of the oncological pathology was indirect and mediated by tao or TAS.Our analysis exlcluded mediation effects between the remaining variables and defence styles.Conclusion Integrating data from mediation and correlation analysis,

从早期使用数学工具探索神经活动机理,到采用人工神经网络模型模拟人类智能,再到基于深度网络解决特定问题,人工智能历经80年发展,当前已进入大模型时代,其特点是立足基础大模型、服务广大社会群体。基础大模型的发展面临一系列挑战:一是大模型训练所必需的数据,质与量有待提高;二是高端算力设备受限制,模型训练高电耗、高碳排放带来环境问题;三是大模型的社会化带来歧视与偏见、虚假信息传播、隐私侵犯、影响就业等社会发展问题。在当今去全球化的国际形势下,为克服以上挑战,健全包含联邦数据、联邦控制、联邦管理和联邦服务的联邦生态系统,构建基于区块链保真(trustable+reliable+usable+effective/efficient,TRUE)和去中心化自治组织和分布式自治运营(DAO)的智能系统联邦,发展基于tao(TRUE DAO)的基础智能(foundation intelligence,FI),为大模型时代人工智能的发展提供必要和有力的支撑。

In the evolution of modern railway thought,it includes not only the discussion of railway planning,sovereignty,debt,and construction,but also the discussion of spiritual guiding ideology such as“tao,body and utility”and“material and spirit”.From the perspective of the relationship between road and equipment,the development of modern railway thought in China has experienced three stages.During the Westernization Movement,Li Hongzhang and other people expounded the benefits brought by railway construction from the angle of“utility”,and believed that there was still a unity of“tao and style”.After the Sino-Japanese Naval Battle,with the emergence of the theory of railway sovereignty and the theory of dividing China,Kang Youwei and others questioned the thought of Westernization school.The unified tao body was divided into two parts:China and the West.After the May Fourth Movement,railway,as a product of western material civilization,was compared with Eastern spiritual civilization by Liang Shuming,Li Dazhao,and others.The conflict between material and spirit made the Western“tao style”evolve into the Europe-American way of pursuing“scientific spirit”and the Soviet-Russian way of exploring the ideas of revolution and transformation.The railway has thus become an important carrier of the“scientific spirit”and socialism.
