The assurance of corporate sustainability reporting has long been a controversial *** management and suppliers are routinely accused of violating principles ofsustainability, an important exercise in public accountability. This thesis responds to recent callsfor an analysis of the process by which the violation takes place. Integrating elements of neo-institutional theory and arena concept, the thesis provides a detailed study of the sustainablestrategy of H&M.This paper provides a thorough description of various threats to the sustainabledevelopment of H&M, such as their cotton frond problem, transport problem, employees training,customer dealings, etc. After that, the paper provides an account of H&M’s effort to seek asolution package to these threats, which together is represented as H&M’s sustainability *** the solution efforts are: they have their own sustainable strategy department, in thiswhich H&M tries to improve itself and resolve their sustainability problems;they are doing a lotof social work, like children education investment, employee training, thus making muchpositive contribute to the community in which it operates. This paper also provides informationon the result of H&M’s sustainability strategy, and draws some lessons from the overall case,which may prove meaningful to other similar clothing companies.

Research progress in assessment and strategies for sustainable food system within planetary boundaries

Meeting the increasing food demand in a manner that ensures both resources and environmental sustainability poses a global *** conceptual framework of planetary boundaries(PBs)has emerged as a crucial reference in the study of sustainable food system,with specific focuses on key dimensions such as land use change,freshwater use,nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)cycles,and greenhouse gas(GHG)*** this study,we summarized the threshold applications of PBs in sustainable food system research at both the global and national(China)*** on these thresholds,we evaluated the sustainability conditions of the food system,considering resources such as cropland,freshwater,N and P applications,as well as environmental impacts including N and P losses,and GHG *** addition,we explored the impacts of single or combined management strategies on sustainable food *** strategies included dietary changes,improvements in technologies and management,reductions in food loss and waste,and optimization in agricultural production ***,we outlined future research directions in sustainable food system,including enhancing research on the interaction mechanisms among PBs elements within food systems,conducting downscaling studies of PBs elements at national and regional levels,and ensuring the rationality of policy-making for sustainable food systems in *** study can provide a theoretical foundation and strategies guidance for sustainable food system and agricultural land use management in the future both globally and in China.

Bio-Economic strategy to Combat Non-Point Pollution in China

While non-point pollution from agriculture has become an increasingly serious problem in China, some progress has been made in studying the causal biophysical processes. However, few studies have assessed the economic consequences of non-point pollution in China or the policy options that could be employed to combat it. In this work a sustainable strategy to control non-point pollution from crop production, which involved taxing excessive inputs of irrigation water and fertilizer, was proposed. The approach taken to assess these measures combined biophysical and economic models,having a trade-off between economic returns and an improved environment. A proven and practical spatially referenced water and nutrient management model was used to determine the quantities of excessive irrigation water and fertilizer for specific soil and land use. Also, a set of indicators were proposed for evaluating the effects of agricultural economic output and agricultural practices on the environment.

Quality of the Built Environment from the Infrastructure of Social Interest Housing Developments

The structures in the built environment, particularly concerning morphology are reflected in different allotments, which rely heavily on a technical insight. They are constantly attributed in Brazil by architects, urban planners and geographers, among others, who plan the space and structure them for providing for the population needs. In this context, this research aims to analyze the morphological structure of two social interest housing developments, considering that the lack of efficiency in construction has generated infrastructure problems. Specifically, we analyzed the layout of the two housing developments of social interest, morphology recurrence, layout style adopted, relating their characteristics. Results have shown that the more regular is the topography, the more is the reduction of deployment costs execution of the infrastructure in the housing development. It is believed that this research can provide discussions on the subject and present subsidies to architectural projects.
