In view of the inaccuracy of the estimated symbols on the edge of the observation window, a decision-feedback subset aided multiple-symbol differential detection(MSDD) framework, dubbed DF-S-MSDD, is proposed in ultra-wideband impulse radio(UWB-IR) system with differential space-time block-code(DSTBC) modulation. Specifically, motivated by the decision-feedback aided MSDD(DF-MSDD), a subset of the decision-feedback symbols is selected, and the optimal symbols are preserved, and then all the remaining symbols are optimized. Furthermore, the simulations validate that the proposed DF-S-MSDD provides solid bit error-rate performance with a low complexity in UWB-IR system with DSTBC modulation.

In this paper we consider the problem of identifying a parsimonious subset multivariate ARCH model based on the AIC principle. The proposed approach can reduce the number of parameters in the final ARCH specification and allows for non-constant correlations between the components. Some simulation results illustrate the viability of the proposed procedure.

Redundant online reviews often have a negative impact on the efficiency of consumers' decisi on-making in their on line shopping.A feasible solution for business analytics is to select a review subset from the original review corpus for consumers,which is called review *** study aims to address the diversified review selection problem,and proposes an effective review selection approach called Simulated Annealing-Diversified Review Selection(SA-DRS)that considers the semantic relationship of review features and the con tent diversity of selected reviews ***-DRS first constructs a feature taxonomy by utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA)topic model and the Word2vec model to measure the topic relation and word context *** on the established feature taxonomy,the similarity between each pair of reviews is defined and the review quality is estimated as *** ally,diversified,high-quality reviews are selected heuristically by SA-DRS in the spirit of the simulated annealing method,forming the selected review *** experiments are conducted on real-world e-commerce platforms to demonstrate the effectiveness of SA-DRS compared to other extant review selection approaches.

Seismic Damage Estimation of an Actual Reinforced Concrete Structure Using subset MCMC

To estimate seismic damage of structures under strong motions is very important to know true safety of structures. However, we have to deal with very small failure probability issue to investigate quantitatively. If we use standard MCS (Monte Calro Simulation) to discuss failure probability, e.g., 1 × 10-6 order, since we have to execute nonlinear dynamic response analyses of approximate 107 times, it is not realistic. Recently, a subset simulation, which reduces the computation time by replacing small failure probability into the product of conditional failure probabilities, was proposed. In this study, the subset simulation is applied to estimate failure probability of an actual reinforced concrete building with 11 stories, and discuss the safety of the structure by checking with design criteria.

Many medical diagnosis applications are characterized by datasets that contain under-represented classes due to the fact that the disease is much rarer than the normal case. In such a situation classifiers such as decision trees and Na?ve Bayesian that generalize over the data are not the proper choice as classification methods. Case-based classifiers that can work on the samples seen so far are more appropriate for such a task. We propose to calculate the contingency table and class specific evaluation measures despite the overall accuracy for evaluation purposes of classifiers for these specific data characteristics. We evaluate the different options of our case-based classifier and compare the perform-ance to decision trees and Na?ve Bayesian. Finally, we give an outlook for further work.

Objective To study on the expression and clinical significance of T lymphocyte subset and NK cell activity （NKA） in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods Fifty-seven cancer patients and 33 healthy controls were enrolled in this study. T lymphocyte subset was measured by SAP technique and NKA by LDH release assay based on K562 cells, which served as target cells.
