Determining the role that social learning plays in construction behaviors,such as nest building or tool manufacture,could be improved if more experimental control could be gained over the exact public information that is provided by the demonstrator,to the observing *** video playback allows the experimenter to choose what information is provided but will only be useful in determining the role of social learning if observers attend to,and learn from,videos in a manner that is similar to live *** goal of the current experiment was to test whether live-streamed video presentations of nest building by zebra finches Taeniopygia guttata would lead observers to copy the material choice demonstrated to ***,males that had not previously built a nest were given an initial preference test between materials of 2 *** observers then watched live-stream footage of a familiar demonstrator building a nest with material of the color that the observer did not *** this experience,observers were given the chance to build a nest with materials of the 2 *** two-thirds of the observer males preferred material of the demonstrated color after viewing the demonstrator build a nest with material of that color more than they had previously,their preference for the demonstrated material was not as strong as that of observers that had viewed live demonstrator builders in a previous *** results suggest researchers should proceed with caution before using video demonstration in tests of social learning.

How can we foster and grow artificial societies so as to cause social properties to emerge that are logical, consistent with real societies, and are expected by design- ers？ We propose a framework for fostering artificial soci- eties using social learning mechanisms and social control ap- proaches. We present the application of fostering artificial so- cieties in parallel emergency management systems. Then we discuss social learning mechanisms in artificial societies, in- cluding observational learning, reinforcement learning, imi- tation learning, and advice-based learning. Furthermore, we discuss social control approaches, including social norms, social policies, social reputations, social commitments, and sanctions.

This paper reviews empirical work on cognitive and social learning contributions to the etiology and treatment of illness behavior associated with functional abdominal pain and inflammatory bowel disease. A particular emphasis is placed on randomized controlled trials, the majority of which are multi-modal in orientation, incorporating elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, social learning, and relaxation. Based on this review, we offer methodological and clinical suggestions: (1) Research investigations should include adequate sample sizes, long-term follow-up assessments, and a credible, active control group. (2) Standard gastrointestinal practice should include, when appropriate, learning opportunities for patients and family members, for example, instruction regarding the encouragement of wellness behavior.

＜正＞social learning focuses on the opinion dynamics in the society,which has attracted more and more researchers recently. Different from the existing results on the consensus of social learning in complex networks with one true state,in this paper we study the social learning in the network society with multi-true-states.A new network social learning model is constructed,where agents from different groups receive different signal sequences generated by different true *** agent updates his belief by combining a Bayesian rule on the external signal and a non-Bayesian rule related with his neighboring *** analyze the dynamical process,and find that the beliefs of all agents are oscillating all the time and can not access to their corresponding true states,which is totally different from the consensus on social learning with ***,by calculating the largest Lyapunov exponents,chaos is found in the social learning with multi-true-sates.

＜正＞Almost all existing social learning models assume that each agent can perceive her private signal which is used in updating her *** this work,we assume that there are some uninformed agents in the network which cannot observe their private signals and update their beliefs just based on the beliefs of their *** prove that under mild assumptions,even one informed agent is enough to lead all agents in the network eventually learn the true state of the world almost ***,we show through simulation that in a heterogeneous undirected network,it is more efficient to have a few hub agents as the informed agents which can observe their signals,and the convergence speed is almost the same as that when all agents are informed agents.

There are mainly two different ways of learning for animals and humans： trying on yourself through interactions or imitating/copying others through communication/observation. How these two learning strategies differ and what roles they are playing in achieving coordination among individuals are two challenging problems for researchers from various disciplines. In multiagent systems, most existing work simply focuses on individual learning for achieving coordination among agents. The social learning perspective has been largely neglected. Against this background, this article contributes by proposing an integrated solution to decision making between social learning and individual learning in multiagent systems. Two integration modes have been proposed that enable agents to choose in between these two learning strategies, either in a t＇Lxed or in an adaptive manner. Experimental evaluations have shown that these two kinds of leaning strategies have different roles in maintaining efficient coordination among agents. These differences can reveal some significant insights into the manipulation and control of agent behaviors in multiagent systems, and also shed light on understanding the social factors in shaping coordinated behaviors in humans and animals.
