Natural fibre reinforced polymer composite(NFRPC)materials are gaining popularity in the modern world due to their eco-friendliness,lightweight nature,life-cycle superiority,biodegradability,low cost,and noble mechanical *** to the wide variety of materials available that have comparable attributes and satisfy the requirements of the product design specification,material selection has become a crucial component of design for *** paper discusses the study’s findings in choosing the suitable thermoplastic matrices of Natural Fibre Composites for Cyclist Helmet utilising the DMAIC,and GRA *** results are based on integrating two decision methods implemented utilising two distinct decision-making approaches:qualitative and *** study suggested thermoplastic polyethylene as a particularly ideal matrix in composite cyclist helmets during the selection process for the best thermoplastic matrices material using the 6σtechnique,with the decision based on the highest performance,the lightest weight,and the most environmentally friendly *** DMAIC and GRA approach significantly influenced the material selection process by offering different tools for each *** the future study,selection technique may have been more exhaustive if more information from other factors had been added.

Using Response Surface Methodology (RSM), an optimizing model of concurrent parameter and tolerance design is proposed where response mean equals its target in the target being best. The optimizing function of the model is the sum of quality loss and tolerance cost subjecting to the variance confidence region of which six sigma capability can be assured. An example is illustrated in order to compare the differences between the developed model and the parameter design with minimum variance. The results show that the proposed method not only achieves robustness, but also greatly reduces cost. The objectives of high quality and low cost of product and process can be achieved simultaneously by the application of six sigma concurrent parameter and tolerance design.

Whilst there are a number of qualified methodologies, the researchers have opted to utilise the tools available through six sigma to prove that six sigma can be used to save resources and improve quality and process. Five industry sectors were identified as the ones to be surveyed using quantitative and qualitative methods and finally piloting the results on five different SMEs. Since this is a relative new methodology to the Cypriot entrepreneur and regrettably at the time of carrying out the study an international financial crisis caused a lot of financial problems to many respondents and as such could not see the immediate effects or benefits of six sigma and were reluctant to co-operate or participate. The six sigma methodology can be customized to industrial sectors and a tailored version of the methodology can be developed for a particular process or problem. The paper illustrates the problem areas identified from both the qualitative and quantitative research per industry. This is the first study carried out on six sigma in a small economy like Cyprus and tested on five industry sectors using both qualitative and quantitative methods

This paper shows how a public eye and research hospital in Turkey initiated six sigma principles to reduce the number of complications occurring after penetrating keratoplasty surgeries. Data were collected for nine years. To analyse the complications among 55 patients (59 eyes) underwent penetrative keratoplasty, main tools of six sigma’s Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) improvement cycle such as SIPOC table and Failure, Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) were implemented. Sources and root causes of eleven types of complications were identified and reported. For a successful penetrating keratoplasty surgery patient’s anatomy, suitability of donor cornea, experience of ophthalmic surgeon, sterilization and hygiene, and performance of the equipment were determined to be the “critical-to-quality” factors. The complication with the highest hazard score was found to be the glaucoma. The process sigma level of the process was measured to be 3.1418. The surgical team concluded that all types of post-operative complications should be significantly reduced by taking the necessary preventive measures.

Today, the demand for security software is six sigma quality, i.e. practically zero-defects. A practical and stochastic method is proposed for a six sigma security software quality management. Monte Carlo Simulation is used in a six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach to security software testing. This elaboration used a published real project’s data from the final product testing lasted for 15 weeks, after which the product was delivered. The experiment utilised the first 12 weeks’ data to allow the results verification on the actual data from the last three weeks. A hypothetical testing project was applied, supposed to be completed in 15 weeks. The product due-date was Week 16 with zero-defects quality assurance aim. The testing project was analysed at the end of the 12th week with three weeks of testing remaining. Running a Monte Carlo Simulation with data from the first 12 weeks produced results which indicated that the product would not be able to meet its due-date with the desired zero-defects quality. To quantify an improvement, another simulation was run to find when zero-defects would be achieved. Simulation predicted that zero-defects would be achieved in week 35 with 56% probability, and there would be 82 defects from Weeks 16 - 35. Therefore, to meet the quality goals, either more resources should be allocated to the project, or the deadline for the project should be moved to Week 36. The paper concluded that utilising Monte Carlo Simulations in a six sigma DMAIC structured framework is better than conventional approaches using static analysis methods. When the simulation results were compared to the actual data, it was found to be accurate within ﹣3.5% to +1.3%. This approach helps to improve software quality and achieve the zero-defects quality assurance goal, while assigning quality confidence levels to scheduled product releases.

In this paper,the six Aigma DMAIC method was used to systematically analyze and study the process affecting the good rate of blank value of cytological method for dairy *** data collection,analysis and verification in each link,the room for improvement in the experimental process was identified.C&E matrix and FMEA were used to analyze the factors affecting the good rate of blank *** the DOE experiment design method and risk analysis,the main influencing factors were optimized and *** optimized experimental conditions were:silica gel activation temperature(500±50)℃,activation time(23±1)h,cells adherent rate(95±1)%,and single-use of 1.5 mL conical *** the above conditions,the good rate of blank value of cytological method was improved from 52.8%to 100%.The improvement of these conditions is of great significance to ensure the accuracy of results,save the testing cost and improve the testing efficiency.

Product ＂Tahu＂ is a traditional food of Sumedang city in Indonesia, and becomes an icon of the city. This study aims to see how consistent the quality of the products developed by small and medium-sized enterprises （SMEs） in the prosess six sigma program compliance effect on customer loyalty. The method used in this paper is descriptive exploratory. Based on a sample of 30 SMEs and 143 end-consumers, it showed that inconsistency in the quality common among SMEs with small production capacity size that gives discomfort to the consumer. Inconsistency in the quality values at each of SMEs which are distinguished by the production capacity is 3.301 or unclassified often inconsistent on a small scale SMEs, 3.460 or unclassified SMEs are often inconsistent in size and capacity being 4.227 or inconsistent unclassified rare or likely to be consistent on SMEs the size of the production capacity. Based on calculations using simple regression, suggest that the effect of dimensional consistency of product quality to customer loyalty is at 34%, while the balance of 66% is influenced by other variables such as promotion, competition level, location of the company etc.. It is recommended for further research is to be able to analyze the causes of the high product quality inconsistencies SMEs.
