Portable hydrogel-based tri-channel fluorescence sensor array for visual detection of multiple explosives

The identification and detection of various types of explosives are essential for human health and environmental ***-based sensing approach offers significant advantages in detecting multi-analytes simultaneously,thereby holding great potential in identifying multiple ***,we report a tri-channel fluorescence array composed of three distinct fluorescence probes based on gold nanoclusters and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide with well-separated emission *** the specific interactions of explosives with different fluorescent probes and the yielded response patterns,seven explosives can be successfully distinguished with 100%*** particular,the sensor array exhibits excellent performance in the quantitative analysis of individual explosive and the differentiation of multiple explosive *** facilitate the field detection towards practical application,the tri-channel fluorescence array was further integrated with polymer *** fabricated portable hydrogel-based array sensors can not only visually identify seven different explosives by their distinct fluorescence color change,but also enable quantitative detection based on linear discriminant analysis(LDA)together with a *** study illustrates the great potential of hydrogel-based fluorescence sensor array as robust sensors for explosives,which also holds significant promise for the development of portable explosive devices towards practical application.

The discrimination of liquors plays a vital role in our daily life as a large amount of cheap alcoholic beverages and low-quality counterfeits greatly damage the health of ***-based optical sensors have been developed as a fast and effective tool to discriminate multi-analytes or complex mixtures with similar structures,such as acids,esters,aldehydes and *** the past decades,optical sensor arrays have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in fast and accurate detection of diverse types,qualities,and authentic *** identification strategy mainly focuses on the specific/non-specific interactions of flavor compounds in liquors with sensor *** cross-reactive optical signal readouts from the combination of sensor elements with liquors and multiple machine learning algorithms are essential to ensure the discriminatory capability of sensing *** this review,we discuss the advantages and recent advances in pattern recognition of liquors in terms of the design of various types of sensing materials and the construction strategies of sensor arrays.

Herein,a novel dual-emission fluorescence sensor array of carbonized polymer dots(CPDs)-Cu^(2+)has been proposed,in which CPDs were prepared by one-pot hydrothermal method and Cu^(2+)acting as a quencher was combined with CPDs by electrostatic *** negatively charged glycosaminoglycans(GAGs)bearing different hydrophilic groups showed variable binding affinities towards CPDs-Cu^(2+).Upon reacting with these GAGs,the different fluorescence response signals of CPDs-Cu^(2+)can be further differentiated by principal component analysis(PCA).The CPDs-Cu^(2+)sensor array,not only allows the identification of four similarly structured GAGs,but also realizes the discrimination of different concentrations of the same GAGs and their ***,the identification of GAGs in biological fluids can also be achieved using our proposed single-component sensor array,validating its application *** new strategy avoids multiple sensing probes,broadens the application of tongue-mimic sensor arrays and provides a viable idea for the development of single component sensing platforms.

Multi-functional stretchable and flexible sensor array to determine the location, shape, and pressure: Application in a smart robot

The rapid increase in the aging population prompts the development of wearable devices and sophisticated robots. With their ability to collect complex information about their surroundings via e-skins, robots could perform more dynamic and variable tasks such as rescue missions or caring for the elderly. In this paper, we present a new concept of utilizing a very simple, highly flexible and stretchable capacitor sensor array, that can be attached on the surface of a retractable robot hand to realize three functions: determining the location, shape, and pressure of an object. This adaptive sensing system is accomplished using capacitors connected by aligned carbon nanotube(CNT) films constructed on an elastomer dielectric material, which can reduce the requirement on the accuracy of the machine vision system. This study has a very broad application in the manufacture of intelligent software robots.

Combined Use of FSR sensor array and SVM Classifier for Finger Motion Recognition Based on Pressure Distribution Map

For controlling dexterous prosthetic hand with a high number of active Degrees of Freedom （DOF）, it is necessary to reliably extract control volitions of finger motions from the human body. In this study, a large variety of finger motions are discriminated based on the diversities of the pressure distribution produced by the mechanical actions of muscles on the forearm. The pressure distribution patterns corresponding to the motions were measured by sensor array which is composed of 32 Force Sensitive Resistor （FSR） sensors. In order to map the pressure patterns with different finger motions, a multiclass classifier was designed based on the Support Vector Machine （SVM） algorithm. The multi-subject experiments show that it is possible to identify as many as seventeen different finger motions, including individual finger motions and multi-finger grasping motions, with the accuracy above 99% in the in-session validation. Further, the cross-session validation demonstrates that the performance of the proposed method is robust for use if the FSR array is not reset. The results suggest that the proposed method has great application prospects for the control of multi-DOF dexterous hand prosthesis.

In order to meet the requirements for miniaturization detection of oil shale pyrolysis process and solve the problem of low sensitivity of oil and gas detection devices,a small bionic electronic nose system was *** by the working mode of the olfactory receptors in the mouse nasal cavity,the bionic spatial arrangement strategy of the sensor array in the electronic nose chamber was proposed and realized for the first time,the sensor array was used to simulate the distribution of mouse olfactory *** 3D printing technology,a solid model of the electronic nose chamber was manufactured and a comparative test of oil shale pyrolysis gas detection was carried *** results showed that the proposed spatial arrangement strategy of sensor array inside electronic nose chamber can realize the miniaturization of the electronic nose system,strengthen the detection sensitivity and weaken the mutual interference ***,it can enhance the recognition rate of the bionic spatial strategy layout,which is higher than the planar layout and spatial comparison *** bionic spatial strategy layout combining naive bayes algorithm achieves the highest recognition rate,which is 94.4%.Results obtained from the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)analysis also indicate that the bionic spatial strategy layout can improve the responses of sensors.

Bladder cancer is one of the commonest malignant tumors of urinary system with high recurrence. However, currently developed bladder cancer urine diagnosis methods are hindered by the low detection sensitivity and accuracy. Herein, a molybdenum disulfide(MoS2) nanosheets-based field effect transistor(FET) sensor array was constructed for simultaneous detection of multiple bladder cancer biomarkers in human urine. With the excellent electronic property of MoS2 and the high specific identification capability of recognition molecules, the proposed biosensor array could simultaneously detect nuclear matrix protein 22(NMP22) and cytokeratin 8(CK8) with a wide linear range of 10-6–10-1 pg mL-1 and an ultra-low detection limit of 0.027 and 0.019 aM, respectively. Furthermore, this highly sensitive and specific MoS2 FET sensor array could be used to identify bladder cancer biomarkers from human urine samples. This designed high-performance biosensor array shows great potential in the future diagnosis of bladder cancer.

Bis-cyclometalated Ir(Ⅲ)Complex-Based Electrogenerated Chemiluminescence sensor array for Discriminating Three Biothiols

A simple and sensitive electrogenerated chemiluminescence(ECL)sensor array was developed for the discrimination of three biothiols,including homocysteine(Hcy),cysteine(Cys)and glutathione(GSH)using two bis-cyclometalated Ir(Ⅲ)complexes as ECL *** aldehyde groups bearing bis-cyclometalated Ir(Ⅲ)complexes were selected as ECL probes,including[(bt)2Ir(phen-CHO)]PF_(6)(bt=2-phenylbenzothiazole,phen-CHO=1,10-phenanthroline-5-carboxaldehyde,probe 1)and[(ppy)_(2)Ir(phen-CHO)]PF_(6)(ppy=2-phenylpyridine,probe 2).A“signal on”ECL method was proposed for biothiols assay based on the increase in ECL intensity of two ECL probes by *** biothiols can be detected with detection limits of 0.8,0.7 and 0.8μM by probe 1 and 0.3,0.4 and 0.5μM by probe 2 for Cys,Hcy and GSH,***-element sensor array was assembled for the detection of three biothiols due to the different enhancement effects of biothiols on the ECL intensity of two ECL *** ECL sensor array combining with the principal component analysis was applied to discriminate three *** study demonstrates that the ECL sensor array using dual ECL reagents provides a promis-ing way for the discrimination of multiple biothiols with good sensitivity and simpleness.

A Four-Element sensor array Consisting of Asymmetric Distributed-Feedback Fiber Lasers

A sensor array system formed by arranging four asymmetric distributed-feedback fiber lasers （DFB-FL） in ascending order according to their slope efficiencies was proposed. The output flatness could be effectively improved with the application of asymmetric DFB-FLs. The last element had almost the same output with the others although it obtained the smallest pump power. The relative intensity noise （RIN） and relaxation oscillation frequency of the sensor array were also analyzed. It is found that the relaxation oscillation frequency of a certain DFB-FL was relevant to its relative position in the array. And the RIN of a certain DFB-FL was always affected by the other elements in the array, which was not dependent on the order of their arrangement.

A novel and simple fluorescence sensor array has been developed for the identification and detection of proteins based on tuning surface charge. Different proteins in various pH buffer solutions have different surface charge including positive, negative or net charge because each individual protein has its own pI value at which the protein is uncharged. Such differences may allow a pattern-recognition-based sensor array for proteins discrimination. Using charged CdSe/ZnS quantum dots as an indicator, the interactions[1] between protein and quantum dots result in fluorescence changes, generating a differential response pattern for the protein[2]. The results showed that protein with pI ＞7, pI =7 or pI ＜7 can be differentiated successfully. And the protein mixture can also be identified. Moreover, the sensor array can also be used in detecting HSA in human urea. It is demonstrated that the proposed sensor array has potential application to clinical diagnosis as well as proteomics.
