An Overview and Perspectives On Bidirectional Intelligence: Lmser Duality, Double IA Harmony,and Causal Computation

Advances on bidirectional intelligence are overviewed along three threads,with extensions and new perspectives.The first thread is about bidirectional learning architecture,exploring five dualities that enable Lmser six cognitive functions and provide new perspectives on which a lot of extensions and particularlly flexible Lmser are proposed.Interestingly,either or two of these dualities actually takes an important role in recent models such as U-net,ResNet,and Dense Net.The second thread is about bidirectional learning principles unified by best yIng-yAng(IA)harmony in BYY system.After getting insights on deep bidirectional learning from a bird-viewing on existing typical learning principles from one or both of the inward and outward directions,maximum likelihood,variational principle,and several other learning principles are summarised as exemplars of the BYY learning,with new perspectives on advanced topics.The third thread further proceeds to deep bidirectional intelligence,driven by long term dynamics(LTD)for parameter learning and short term dynamics(STD)for image thinking and rational thinking in harmony.Image thinking deals with information flow of continuously valued arrays and especially image sequence,as if thinking was displayed in the real world,exemplified by the flow from inward encoding/cognition to outward reconstruction/transformation performed in Lmser learning and BYY learning.In contrast,rational thinking handles symbolic strings or discretely valued vectors,performing uncertainty reasoning and problem solving.In particular,a general thesis is proposed for bidirectional intelligence,featured by BYY intelligence potential theory(BYY-IPT)and nine essential dualities in architecture,fundamentals,and implementation,respectively.Then,problems of combinatorial solving and uncertainty reasoning are investigated from this BYY IPT perspective.First,variants and extensions are suggested for AlphaGoZero like searching tasks,such as traveling salesman problem(TSP)and attributed graph matching(AGM)that ar

Examination of the Thermal Cloaking Effectiveness with Layered Engineering Materials

The concentrically layered thermal cloaks with isotropic materials could realize the equivalent thermal cloaking effect with Pendry＇s cloak, while the effectiveness is scarcely investigated quantitatively. Here we examine the cloaking effectiveness quantitatively by evaluating the standard deviation of the temperature difference between the simulated plane with the layered thermal cloak and Pendry＇s thermal cloak. The design rules for the isotropic materials in terms of thermal conductivity and layer thickness are presented. The present method could quan- titatively evaluate the cloaking effectiveness, and could open avenues for analyzing the cloaking effect, detecting the （anti-） cloaks, etc.

Optimal paths planning in dynamic transportation networks with random link travel times

A theoretical study was conducted on finding optimal paths in transportation networks where link travel times were stochastic and time-dependent(STD). The methodology of relative robust optimization was applied as measures for comparing time-varying, random path travel times for a priori optimization. In accordance with the situation in real world, a stochastic consistent condition was provided for the STD networks and under this condition, a mathematical proof was given that the STD robust optimal path problem can be simplified into a minimum problem in specific time-dependent networks. A label setting algorithm was designed and tested to find travelers' robust optimal path in a sampled STD network with computation complexity of O(n2+n·m). The validity of the robust approach and the designed algorithm were confirmed in the computational tests. Compared with conventional probability approach, the proposed approach is simple and efficient, and also has a good application prospect in navigation system.

Modeling of ultrasound contrast agents bubble dynamics with modified surface tension coefficient

The current work proposes a model describing the dynamics of coated microbubbles, which simplifies the traditional three-layer model to a two-layer one by introducing a visco-elastic interface with variable surface tension coefficients to connect the gas zone and the liquid zone. In the modified model, the traditional two interfaces boundary conditions are combined into one to simplify the description of the bubble. Moreover, the surface tension coefficient is defined as a function of bubble radius with lower and upper limits, which are related to the buckling and rupture mechanisms of the bubble. Further discussion is made regarding the effects resulting from the change of the surface tension coefficient on bubble dynamics. The dynamic responses of Optison and Sonozoid microbubbles, measured experimentally based on light scattering technology (adapted from previously published work), are simulated using both classic three-layer models (e.g. Church's model) and simplified model. The results show that our simplified model works as well as the Church's model.

为有效地判别和剔除红外焦平面阵列(IRFPA)的无效像元,本文在分析了IRFPA有效像元响应模型的基础上,指出在均匀输入时IRFPA有效像元输出值的均值差(DOM)和标准差 (STD)特征的分布具有正态性,通过采用自适应投影匹配分解法对特征直方图进行高斯分解,进而估计出有效像元DOM和STD特征的分布区间,从而得到了判别无效像元的分类准则.针对实际IRFPA图像数据的实验表明,本文提出的无效像元的判别方法是有效的.

THEORETICAL DESCRIPTION OF PERCENTAGE DEPTH DOSE CURVE FORγ—RAY OF ^(60)Co

A formula describing the percentage depth dose curve for 60Co γ beams is theoretically developed. The formula only needs a few data determined by measuring directly in water phantom and can be used to calculate the whole set of percentage depth dose （PDD） and tissuse air ratios （TAR） for the wide range of SSD （from 20cm to 100cm）, field size （from 4cm×4cm to 20cm×20cm） and depth （from dm to 30cm）. The data calculated by the formula fits very well to the data currently used in clinics with the maximum error less than 1% and probable error of about 0.1%-0.3%. Using this formula can overcome the time-exhausting work in measurement of PDD and TAR.

Syndromic Management of Sexually Transmitted Diseases inAntenatal and Family Planning Clinic Attendees

For the purpose of control of STDs and AIDS, WHO has recommended the syn-dromic approach to prompt and complete diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In ante-natal and family planning clinic attendees (a low STD prevalence population), theuse of signs and symptoms and the risk assessment can be evaluated as a screening toolto manage infections factors (RTIS ) in women. However, for the asymptomatic indi-viduals more sensitive and specific laboratory tests should be used to find out more STDpatlents.The syndromic management of genital ulceration and lower abdominal pain inwomen appears to be feasible. On the otherh and, the management of abnormal vagi-nal discharge can relleve symptoms of vaginal infections, but prevention of transmis-sion and complications of cervical infections, even adding risk factor assessment andcersical examination, it ofen results in significant amount of overtrealment. However,using the syndromic approach as a screening tool, the diagnosis of cervical infecti0ns inindividuals with a positive screening result can be further confrmed.
