Based on the asymptotic spectral distribution of Wigner matrices, a new normality test method is proposed via reforming the white noise sequence. In this work, the asymptotic cumulative distribution function （CDF） of eigenvalues of the Wigner matrix is deduced. A numerical Kullback-Leibler divergence of the empiric-d spectral CDF based on test samples from the deduced asymptotic CDF is established, which is treated as the test statistic. For validating the superiority of our proposed normality test, we apply the method to weak SIPSK signal detection in the single-input single-output （siso） system and the single-input multiple-output （SIMO） system. By comparing with other common normality tests and the existing signal detection methods, simulation results show that the proposed method is superior and robust.

Polar coded sparse code multiple access(SCMA) system is conceived in this paper. A simple but new iterative multiuser detection framework is proposed, which consists of a message passing algorithm(MPA) based multiuser detector and a soft-input soft-output(siso) successive cancellation(SC) polar decoder. In particular, the siso polar decoding process is realized by a specifically designed soft re-encoder, which is concatenated to the original SC decoder. This soft re-encoder is capable of reconstructing the soft information of the entire polar codeword based on previously detected log-likelihood ratios(LLRs) of information bits. Benefiting from the soft re-encoding algorithm, the resultant iterative detection strategy is able to obtain a salient coding gain. Our simulation results demonstrate that significant improvement in error performance is achieved by the proposed polar-coded SCMA in additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channels, where the performance of the conventional siso belief propagation(BP) polar decoder aided SCMA, the turbo coded SCMA and the low-density parity-check(LDPC) coded SCMA are employed as benchmarks.

The uplink of mobile satellite communication(MSC) system with hundreds of spot beams is essentially a multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) channel. Dual-turbo iterative detection and decoding as a kind of MIMO receiver, which exchanges soft extrinsic information between a soft-in soft-out(siso) detector and an siso decoder in an iterative fashion, is an efficient method to reduce the uplink inter-beam-interference(IBI),and so the receiving bit error rate(BER).We propose to replace the linear siso detector of traditional dual-turbo iterative detection and decoding with the AMP detector for the low-density parity-check(LDPC) coded multibeam MSC uplink. This improvement can reduce the computational complexity and achieve much lower BER.

Relay transmission technique can be utilized to increase coverage or enhance throughput for conventional cellular communication systems. There are two typical relaying schemes: amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF). This paper presents a new scheme named soft symbol Estimation and Forward (SEF), which holds the advantages of both AF and DF, i.e. keeping soft information and obtaining decoding gain. This scheme has similar operations as DF except that the operations are performed in a soft-input-soft-output (siso) fashion. The relay performs siso decoding, siso re-encoding and key point soft symbol estimation, which is derived based on the maximum likelihood (ML) criteria. Simulation results prove that the proposed SEF scheme much outperforms both AF and DF. Copyright © by HIGH TECHNOLOGY LETTERS PRESS.

Closed-loop identification is important and necessary to various model-based advanced process control strategies, whose performance depends greatly on the informative property of the data set. Switching control is an important method in process control. Therefore, this paper studies the informative property of a data set in a single-input single-output (siso) closed-loop system with a switching controller. It is proved that this data set is informative if the controller switches among at least two modes (i.e., feedback laws). Our result does not require any assumption on the way of switch and removes the constraints on the switching manner required in some classical literature. Finally, simulation case studies based on a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) process are given to validate the results.

In this paper,we present a single-input,single-output（siso） and multiple-input multiple-output（MIMO） orthogonal frequency division multiplexing（OFDM）（siso/MIMO-OFDM） based power line communication（PLC） scheme using maximum ratio combining（MRC）,which is applicable to various future high-speed data services via power line like Smart Grid.We employ the Zimmerman frequency model as multipath power line fading channel and the Middleton’s Class A model as impulse noise channel.In order to improve the 3-phase（MIMO） or single-phase（siso） PLC performance,we introduce a new MRC effectively summing up both multiple antenna diversity gain and multipath fading diversity gain.Via computer simulation,we proved the performance advantage of the proposed siso/MIMO over the existing siso/MIMO.

Research work for some time now has shown that fading wireless channels present enormous advantages if properly exploited through a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) communication model. In this paper, we demonstrate the advantages of implementing the MIMO communication model by investigating three communication techniques, namely, Single-Input Single-Output (siso), Multiple-Input Single-Output (MISO) and MIMO for WiMAX communication systems. The performances of these communication techniques are analyzed and compared for three scenarios - rural environment, TGV (high-speed train) environment and urban environment by using the models to investigate several communication parameters.
