Objective To investigate whether Omicron BA.1 breakthrough infection after receiving the sars-cov-2 vaccine could create a strong immunity *** Blood samples were collected at two different time points from 124 Omicron BA.1 breakthrough infected patients and 124 controls matched for age,gender,and vaccination *** virus-neutralizing antibodies against five sars-cov-2 variants,including WT,Gamma,Beta,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,and T-lymphocyte lymphocyte counts in both groups were measured and statistically *** The neutralizing antibody titers against five different variants of sars-cov-2 were significantly increased in the vaccinated population infected with the Omicron BA.1 variant at 3 months after infection,but mainly increased the antibody level against the WT strain,and the antibody against the Omicron strain was the *** neutralizing antibody level decreased rapidly 6 months after *** T-lymphocyte cell counts of patients with mild and moderate disease recovered at 3 months and completely returned to the normal state at 6 *** Omicron BA.1 breakthrough infection mainly evoked humoral immune memory in the original strain after vaccination and hardly produced neutralizing antibodies specific to Omicron *** antibodies against the different strains declined rapidly and showed features similar to those of ***,T-lymphocytes may play an important role in recovery.

Coronaviruses(Co Vs)have brought serious threats to humans,particularly severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(sars-Co V-2),which continually evolves into multiple *** variants,especially Omicron,reportedly escape therapeutic antibodies and vaccines,indicating an urgent need for new antivirals with pan-sars-Co V-2 inhibitory *** previously reported that a peptide fusion inhibitor,P3,targeting heptad repeated-1(HR1)of sars-Co V-2 spike(S)protein,could inhibit viral ***,we further designed multiple derivatives of the P3 based on structural analysis and found that one derivative,the P315V3,showed the most efficient antiviral activity against sars-Co V-2 variants and several other sarbecoviruses,as well as other human-Co Vs(HCo Vs).P315V3 also exhibited effective prophylactic efficacy against the sars-Co V-2 Delta and Omicron variants in mice via intranasal *** results suggest that P315V3,which is in PhaseⅡclinical trial,is promising for further development as a nasal pan-sars-Co V-2 or pan-Co Vs inhibitor to prevent or treat cov diseases.

The novel coronavirus pandemic,first reported in December 2019,was caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(sars-cov-2).sars-cov-2 infection leads to a strong immune response and activation of antigen-presenting cells,which can elicit acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)characterized by the rapid onset of widespread inflammation,the so-called cytokine *** response to viral infections,monocytes are recruited into the lung and subsequently differentiate into dendritic cells(DCs).DCs are critical players in the development of acute lung inflammation that causes ***,we focus on the interaction of a specific sars-cov-2 open reading frame protein,ORF8,with *** show that ORF8 binds to DCs,causes pre-maturation of differentiating DCs,and induces the secretion of multiple proinflammatory cytokines by these *** addition,we identified DC-SIGN as a possible interaction partner of ORF8 on *** of ORF8 leads to reduced production of IL-1β,IL-6,IL-12p70,TNF-α,MCP-1(also named CCL2),and IL-10 by ***,a neutralizing antibody blocking the ORF8-mediated cytokine and chemokine response could be an improved therapeutic strategy against sars-cov-2.

Effects of specific doses of E-beam irradiation which inactivated sars-cov-2 on the nutrition and quality of Atlantic salmon

The contamination of Atlantic salmon with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(sars-cov-2)has impeded the development of the cold-chain food industry and posed possible risks to the *** beam(E-beam)irradiation under 2,4,7,and 10 kGy can effectively inactivate sars-cov-2 in cold-chain ***,there are few statistics about the quality changes of salmon exposed to these irradiation *** work demonstrated that E-beam irradiation at dosages capable of killing sars-cov-2 induced lipid oxidation,decreased vitamin A content,and increased some amino acids and ash *** addition,irradiation altered the textural features of salmon,such as its hardness,resilience,cohesiveness,and *** irradiation considerably affected the L*,a*,and b*values of salmon,with the L*value increasing and a*,b*values *** was no significant difference in the sensory evaluation of control and irradiated *** was shown that irradiation with 2−7 kGy E-beam did not significantly degrade *** inactivation of sars-cov-2 in salmon is advised at a dose of 2 kGy.

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (sars-cov-2) Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant is highly transmissible with potential immune escape. Hence, control measures are continuously being optimized to guard against large-scale coronavirus disease 2019 (covID-19) outbreaks. This study aimed to explore the relationship between the intensity of control measures in response to different sars-cov-2 variants and the degree of outbreak control at city ***: A retrospective study was conducted in 49 cities with covID-19 outbreaks between January 2020 and June 2022. Epidemiological data on covID-19 were extracted from the National Health Commission, People’s Republic of China, and the population flow data were sourced from the Baidu migration data provided by the Baidu platform. Outbreak control was quantified by calculating the degree of infection growth and the time-varying reproduction number (Rt). The intensity of the outbreak response was quantified by calculating the reduction in population mobility during the outbreak period. Correlation and regression analyses of the intensity of the control measures and the degree of outbreak control for the Omicron variant and non-Omicron mutants were conducted, ***: Overall, 65 outbreaks occurred in 49 cities in China from January 2020 to June 2022. Of them, 66.2% were Omicron outbreaks and 33.8% were non-Omicron outbreaks. The intensity of the control measures was positively correlated with the degree of outbreak control (r = 0.351,P = 0.03). The degree of reduction in population mobility was negatively correlated with the R_(t) value (r = - 0.612,P 2.6 times higher than that of non-Omicron variants.
