Hydrated nickel(Ⅱ) halides mediated ring opening reaction with N-tosylaziridines

An efficient and water tolerant method for the synthesis ofβ-haloamines is described utilizing hydrated nickel（Ⅱ） halides （NiX_2ⅩnH_2O X = Cl,Br,I） and aziridines as starting materials.N-Tosylaziridines reacted with NiCl_2·6H_2O or NiI_2·6H_2O givingβ-chloro -orβ-iodoamines in high yields（73-99%） within a short time,but 10 mol%of n-Bu_4NBr should be added in the reactions of N-tosylaziridines with NiBr_2·3H_2O in order to obtain the high yields of correspondingβ-*** played an important role in the *** proper solvent for the reaction of NiCl_2·6H_2O was DMF,while NiBr_2·3H_2O or NiI_2·6H_2O proceeded well in 1,4-dioxane.

reaction of o-Carboryne with Furans： Facile Synthesis of Carborane- Fused Oxanorbornenes and Their Derivatives

o-Carboryne （1,2-dehydro-o-carborane） is a very useful synthon for the synthesis of a variety of carborane-functionalized molecules. Diels-Alder reaction of o-carboryne with furans gave a series of carborane-fused oxanorbornenes in moderate to high yields using 1-OTf-1,2-C_2B_10H_11 as carboryne precursor. The resultant cycloadducts can undergo hydrogenation, cyclic oxidation, bromination, [4＋2]/[2＋2] cycloaddition and nucleophilic ring opening reaction to afford a variety of highly functionalized carboranes that may find applications as useful basic units in medicine and materials science.

Synthesis of vegetable oil based polyol with cottonseed oil and sorbitol derived from natural source

In order to prepare the polyol with all bio-based components as raw materials,cottonseed oil was first epoxidized by peroxyformic acid generated in situ from hydrogen peroxide and formic acid,and the cottonseed oil based polyols with variable hydroxyl value were then prepared by the ring-opening of epoxidized cottonseed oil with sorbitol,which is a multi-functional hydroxyl compound derived from a natural *** chemical structure of the products was characterized with FTIR analysis, and the residual epoxy oxygen content and hydroxyl value of the polyol versus the ring-opening time were investigated.

Synthesis of Bio-base Plasticizer Using Waste Cooking Oil and Its Performance Testing in Soft Poly(vinyl chloride)Films

Waste cooking oil was modified to prepare bio-base plasticizers(a,b and c)with terephthalic acid,adipic acid and benzoic acid by transesterification,epoxidation and ring opening reactions,*** polyvinyl chloride(PVC)films(a/PVC,b/PVC and c/PVC)were prepared using a,b and c as bio-base *** epoxidation and ring opening reactions were mainly investigated through GC-MS *** structures of bio-base plasticizers(a,b and c)were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),^(1)H NMR and ^(13)C *** mechanical properties of a/PVC were as good as those of PVC films with the dioctyl phthalate(DOP)***,the elongation at break of c/PVC reached 422%.The glass transition temperature(Tg)from dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA)was reduced to 30.6℃,45.3℃,23.6℃and 40.6℃,respectively when 40 phr of a,b,c and DOP plasticizer were *** of thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)illustrated that the thermal degradation stabilitiy of a/PVC films was better than those of c/PVC and DOP/*** volatility losses of a,b and c were lower than that of the ***-base plasticizers a and c exhibited excellent migration resistance in different solutions(distilled water,50%ethanol(w/w)).The FT-IR of PVC films showed that the downfield shifts of the—CH—Cl groups of the PVC plasticized with a and c were greater than that of b/*** bio-base plasticizers b had a better plasticizing effect at low temperature.

A series of novel carbazole-derived azolyl ethanols as potentially antimicrobial agents were designed and synthesized from commercially available carbazole,epichlorohydrin and *** antimicrobial assay revealed that3,6-dichlorocarbazole triazolyl ethanol 3f exhibited comparable or superior inhibitory activities against some tested strains to reference drug and the active molecule 3f also showed lower activity in triggering the development of resistance in bacteria than *** with DNA suggested that it could form 3f–DNA complex by intercalating into DNA,which might be a possible mechanism for its antimicrobial action.
