Objective： To evaluate the effect and safety of Pingchuan Yiqi Granule （平喘益气颗粒, PYG） in treating bronchial asthma of qi-deficiency cold syndrome type （BS-QDC）. Methods： With the randomized, positive agent parallel controlled design adopted, the 80 subjects enrolled were assigned in the ratio of 3：1 to two groups, the 60 patients in the trial group were treated with PYG and the 20 in the control group treated with Ruyi Dingchuan Pill （如意定喘丸,RDP）, with the therapeutic course consisting of 7 days for both groups. The clinical effects, effects on TCM syndrome and the changes of lung function after treatment were observed. Results： The effect of the treatment on asthma in the trial group： clinically controlled rate was 6.67%, markedly effective rate 51.67%, improved rate 33.33% and ineffective rate 8.33%; and the corresponding rates in the control group were 5.00%, 50.00%, 30.00%, and 15.00% respectively. Comparison between the two groups showed insignificant difference （P〉0.05）. The effect on TCM syndrome in the treated group： clinically controlled rate was 11.67%, markedly effective rate 58.33%, effective rate 21.67% and ineffective rate 8.33%; and those in the control group were 10.00%, 50.00%, 30.00% and 10.00% respectively, also showing insignificant difference between the two groups （P〉0.05）. Lung function test showed that the change on forced expiratory volume in 1 second （FEV1） after treatment in the trial group was of statistical significance （P〈0.05）, but no significant difference was shown in the change of peak expiratory flow （PEE P〉0.05）; while the changes in the control group were just the opposite, showing insignificance in FEV1 （P〉0.05） but significance in PEF （P〈0.05）. Comparison of the therapeutic effect on lung function between the two groups showed no significant difference （P〉0.05）. No adverse reaction was found in either group in the course of treatment. Conclusion： PYG used to treat BS-QDC is effective and safe, it＇s effect is similar to that of RD

Progressive Muscle Relaxation Combined with Chinese Medicine Five-Element Music on Depression for Cancer Patients: A randomized controlled trial

Objectives： To evaluate the effects of progressive muscle relaxation training （PMRT） combined with five elements music therapy of Chinese medicine （CM） for improving anxiety and depression of cancer patients. Methods： From June 2015 to March 2016, 60 cancer patients were included into the study. The patients were randomly assigned to a control group and a treatment group by envelope randomization, receiving PMRT and PMRT plus CM five elements music therapy, respectively, for 8 weeks. Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale （HADS）, Benefit Finding Scales （BFS）, Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Spiritual （FACIT-Sp）, and Intervention Expectations Questionnaire （IEQU） were adopted to assess the depression of the two groups before and after the treatment. Results： Four cases dropped out during the study, and 29 cases in the treatment group and 27 in the control group were included in the final analysis. Prior to the treatments, the baselines of the 4 questionnaires in the two groups showed no difference. After the 8-week treatment, the treatment group presented better levels of HADS, BFS and FACIT-Sp scores compared with the control group （P〈0.05）. Among the single items of HADS, 4 items involving vexation, feeling fidgeted, pleasure and prospecting the future in the treatment group were improved compared with the control group （P〈0.05）. Conclusions： As a simple and reliable and effective intervention, PMRT combined with five elements music therapy mitigated anxiety and depression of cancer patients. Cancer patients have been found to respond well to psychological intervention in areas regarding stabilisation of emotions, disease awareness, and therapeutic compliance. This brings about a great difference in improving their quality of life and psychological state, offers an effective approach to better self-management in cancer treatment.

BACKGROUND Achalasia is a rare benign esophageal motor disorder characterized by incomplete relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter(LES). The treatment of achalasia is not curative, but rather is aimed at reducing LES pressure. In patients who have failed noninvasive therapy, surgery should be considered. Myotomy with partial fundoplication has been considered the first-line treatment for non-advanced achalasia. Recently, peroral endoscopic myotomy(POEM), a technique that employs the principles of submucosal endoscopy to perform the equivalent of a surgical myotomy,has emerged as a promising minimally invasive technique for the management of this *** To compare POEM and laparoscopic myotomy and partial fundoplication(LM-PF) regarding their efficacy and outcomes for the treatment of *** Forty treatment-naive adult patients who had been diagnosed with achalasia based on clinical and manometric criteria(dysphagia score ≥ II and Eckardt score > 3) were randomized to undergo either LM-PF or POEM. The outcome measures were anesthesia time, procedure time, symptom improvement, reflux esophagitis(as determined with the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire), barium column height at 1 and 5 min(on a barium esophagogram), pressure at the LES, the occurrence of adverse events(AEs), length of stay(LOS), and quality of life(QoL).RESULTS There were no statistically significant differences between the LM-PF and POEM groups regarding symptom improvement at 1, 6, and 12 mo of follow-up(P = 0.192, P = 0.242, and P = 0.242, respectively). However, the rates of reflux esophagitis at 1, 6, and 12 mo of follow-up were significantly higher in the POEM group(P = 0.014, P < 0.001, and P = 0.002, respectively). Effects of Chinese Medicine Five-Element Music on the Quality of Life for Advanced Cancer Patients:A randomized controlled trial

Objectives： To evaluate the effects of the Chinese medicine （CM） five-element music on quality of life for senior and non-senior advanced cancer patients. Methods： With a randomized controlled trial, 170 advanced cancer patients were randomly assigned to three groups： the CM five-element music group （68 patients）, the Western music therapy group （68 cases）, and the no music therapy group （34 cases）. All patients of 70 years old or older were considered seniors and the remaining patients younger than 70 years were considered non- seniors. Patients in the CM five-element music group listened to CM five-element music, the patients in the Western music group listened to Western music, and the patients in the no music group did not listen to music. A course of treatment was 3 weeks, with 30 rain each day, 5 days a week. The Hospice Quality of Life Index- Revised （HQOLI-R） and Karnofsky performance score （KPS） were measured in the three groups before and after treatment. The symptom diary score was measured in the three groups every 3 days, 7 times in total. Results： CM five-element music group showed a significant difference of HQOLI-R, KPS and symptom diary score with other groups （all P〈0.01）. There were significant differences of HQOLI-R, symptom diary score, and KPS after treatment in CM five-element music group and other groups in the non-senior subgroup （P〈0.05）. Additionally, there were significant differences in HQOLI-R and KPS after treatment among the three groups in the senior subgroup （P〈0.05）. Conclusions： CM five-element music therapy could improve the quality of life and KPS for senior and non senior advanced cancer patients, and it could improve subjective symptoms for non-senior advanced cancer patients.

Effect of puboprostatic ligament preservation during robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy on early continence:randomized controlled trial
