Facile syntheses of 3-trifluoromethylthio substituted thioflavones and benzothiophenes via the radical cyclization

3-CF3 S substituted thioflavones and benzothiophenes were achieved via the reactions of AgSCF3 with methylthiolated alkynones and alkynylthioanisoles,respectively,promoted by *** protocol possesses good functional group tolerance and high *** studies suggested that a classic two-step radical process was involved,which includes addition of CF3 S radical to triple bond and cyclization with SMe moiety.

In the past five years,the fluoroalkyl radical addition over aπacceptor has become one of the most straightforward methods to construct C–CF *** advances have been achieved in this ***,compared to the prevailing C(sp)–CF formation,the incorporation of a difluoromethyl group into diverse skeletons to construct a new C(sp)–CF bond is *** the best of our knowledge,there are only very few examples on this *** instance,photoredox catalysts(Ir and Ru)were reported to promote fluoroalkylation of alkenes to render C(sp)–CF bond ***,we report Cu-catalyzed difluoroalkylation of alkenes for the construction of C(sp)–CF bond combining a cyclization for preparation of3,3-Difluoro-4-methyl-1-arylpyrrolidin-2-ones(Scheme 1).

Fluorinated compounds have attracted considerable interest in medicinal chemistry, materials, and agrochemical research on account of their potential biological ***, the development of new and efficient methods for the introduction of fluorine or fluorinated moieties into organic molecules is a relevant challenge. Among various fluorinated moieties, the trifluoromethyl group(CF)has been of great fascination to chemists owing to its capacity to act as a lipophilic electron-withdrawing group. In the past decade, many distinct methods for the incorporation of CF groups into target molecules have been developed. Yet, compared to trifluoromethylation chemistry,the analogous difluoromethylation(selective introduction of a CFH group into organic molecules) is much less studied. As part of our ongoing research program on the construction of biologically potential heterocycles via visible-light-induced photoredox catalysis, herein we report an efficient and practical visiblelight-induced oxydifluoromethylation of olefinic amides for the synthesis of CFH-containing heterocycles(Scheme 1).

Croton steenkampianus Gerstner（Euphorbiaceae）,commonly known as"Marsh Fever-berry"and"Tonga Croton",is a shrub or tree endemic to restricted areas of central Africa and eastern parts of southern *** medicinal uses of the genus Croton are reported in countries all over the world,and many species are used to treat bleeding,bleeding gums,chest complaints,coughs,fever,indigestion,malaria,and *** 2008,Hussein and co-workers isolated two novel natural diterpenoids from the ethanol extract of leaves of ***,which they subsequently named steenkrotins A and B（Figure 1）.Structurally,（+）-steenkrotin A（1）possesses an intricate[3,5,5,6,7]pentacyclic carbon framework containing a sterically congested hydroxytetrahydrofuran subunit,while steenkrotin B（2）features an unusual[5,6,6,7]tetracyclic skeleton embedded with an endoperoxide *** of these molecules contain eight stereogenic centers,of which six are contiguous,including one all-carbon quaternary *** intriguing structures as well as the potentially important biological activities rendered 1 and 2 attractive targets for synthetic *** this presentation,we will report our recent progress towards the total synthesis of（+）-steenkrotin A.
