Effects of saccharicterpenin on antioxidant status and urinary metabolic Profile of rats

Saccharicterpenin is a new green additive agent that is derived from the extract of Theaceae plants and has the ability to improve immunity and meat quality, increase the digestive enzyme activity, and enhance the intestinal development and growth of animals. However, the antioxidant status and systematic changes in metabolic biochemistry associated with saccharicterpenin supplementation in animals are still unknown. This study examined the effects of saccharicterpenin on the antioxidant status and urinary metabolic Profile of rats. Sixteen rats were randomly distributed to 2 groups. One group was treated with 400 mg/kg body weight of saccharicterpenin, and the other group was treated with equal amount of saline. Results revealed that saccharicterpenin significantly increased the capacities of antihydroxyl radical(13.18%) and anti-superoxide anion(14.36%), the total antioxidant capacity(48.27%),and the activities of total superoxide dismutase(3.68%), catalase(21.52%), glutathione peroxidase(5.83%)and glutathione S-transferase(29.59%)(P 0.05). Saccharicterpenin supplementation significantly increased the urinary levels of bile acids, ethanol. α-ketoglutarate, and a-hydroxy butyrate but decreased the level of N-acetylglutamate(P < 0.05). In summary, saccharicterpenin can enhance the antioxidant capacity and modulate the metabolism in rats.

Line Profile analysis of X-ray and neutron diffraction patterns is a powerful tool for determining the microstructure of crystalline materials. The Convolutional-Multiple-Whole-Profile (CMWP) procedure is based on physical Profile functions for dislocations, domain size, stacking faults and twin boundaries. Order dependence, strain anisotropy, hkl dependent broadening of planar defects and peak shape are used to separate the effect of different lattice defect types. The Marquardt-Levenberg (ML) numerical optimiza-tion procedure has been used successfully to determine crystal defect types and densities. However, in more complex cases like hexagonal materials or multiple phases the ML procedure alone reveals uncer-tainties. In a new approach the ML and a Monte-Carlo statistical method are combined in an alternative manner. The new CMWP procedure eliminates uncertainties and provides globally optimized parameters.

Dear editor,The fictitious play(FP) was initially proposed by Brown [1]in 1951 as a handy learning rule. The main idea of FP can be described as follows: In a game process, the player who adopts FP assumes that the others choose their strategies randomly and independently, according to a fixed distribution. Based on this assumption, the player tends to choose his or her own strategy empirically to counter the opponents and ultimately earn more benefits. Many distinguished studies have been springing up after the introduction of FP.

To explore the potential of crabapples as functional food, polyphenols in crabapples and ‘Fuji’ apples were extracted, and the phenolic Profile,total polyphenols, antioxidant activity and anti-proliferative activity against several human cancer cells were determined. The results indicated that crabapple extracts have more abundant phenols and higher total polyphenols(from 4.46 to 46.63 mg GAE·g-1 DW) compared to ‘Fuji’ apples.Crabapple extracts possessed higher antioxidant activity than apple by DPPH and ABTS analysis. All fruit extracts exhibited inhibitory effects on proliferation in different cancer cells;however, crabapple extracts performed significantly better, with half inhibitory concentration(IC50)values varied from 48.34 μg·m L-1 to 974.81 μg·m L-1 for colon cancer cells SW480, 64.67–1 466.35 μg·m L-1 for stomach cancer cells BGC-803,78.88–910.64 μg·m L-1 for esophageal cancer cells CaEs-17. Besides, the red crabapples had higher antioxidant activity and anti-proliferative activity than yellow fruits. These results showed that crabapples, especially red crabapples, have great potential as a healthy food, as they are rich in phenolic compounds with high antioxidant and anti-proliferative activities to cancer cells.

In this paper,we present an open python procedure with Jupyter notebook,for data extraction and vectorization of geophysical explo ration Profile.Constrained by observation routes and traffic conditions,geophysical exploration Profiles tend to bend curved roads for easy observation,however,it must be projected onto a straight line when data processing and analyzing.After projection,we don’t know the true position of the obtained crustal structure.Nonetheless,when the results used as an initial constraint condition for other geophysical inversion,such as gravity inversion,we need to know the true position of the data rather than the distance to the starting point.We solved this problem by Profile vectorization and reprojection.The method can be used for extraction data of various geophysical exploration Profiles,such as seismic reflection Profiles,gravity Profiles.

Aiming at the signal bandwidth design problem for multi-target imaging task,a kind of multiple input multiple output(MIMO)radar waveform design method is proposed.At first,the closed-loop feedback between the range Profile and the signal bandwidth,which can design the minimum bandwidth of a transmitting signal that can distinguish each scatterer of the target in range direction,is established.Then,considering the request of beam pattern and the bandwidth limitation,a waveform optimization model is established and solved.Therefore,the multi-target observation and the dynamic adjustment of the signal bandwidth are accomplished.In the end,the simulation results prove the performance of the algorithm in a low SNR circumstance.

Self-calibration and Compensation of Setting Errors for Surface Profile Measurement of a Microstructured Roll Workpiece

Microstructured roll workpieces have been widely used as functional components in the precision industries. Current researches on quality control have focused on surface Profile measurement of microstructured roll workpieces, and types of measurement systems and measurement methods have been developed. However, low measurement efficiency and low measurement accuracy caused by setting errors are the common disadvantages for surface Profile measurement of microstructured roll workpieces. In order to shorten the measurement time and enhance the measurement accuracy, a method for self-calibration and compensation of setting errors is proposed for surface Profile measurement of microstructured roll workpieces. A measurement system is constructed for the measurement, in which a precision spindle is employed to rotate the roll workpiece and an air-bearing displacement sensor with a micro-stylus probe is employed to scan the microstructured surface of the roll workpiece. The resolution of the displacement sensor is 0.14 nm and that of the rotary encoder of the spindle was 0.15r~. Geometrical and mathematical models are established for analyzing the influences of the setting errors of the roll workpiece and the displacement sensor with respect to the axis of the spindle, including the eccentric error of the roll workpiece, the offset error of the sensor axis and the zero point error of the sensor output. Measurement experiments are carded out on a roll workpiece on which periodic microstructures are a period of 133 i^m along the circumferential direction. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the self-compensation method. The proposed method can be used to detect and compensate the setting errors without using any additional accurate artifact.
