Some veterinary drug residues in food products and environment have been widely regarded as severe threats to human *** and simultaneous detection methods are crucial to monitor and control veterinary drug ***,we propose a fluorescence biosensor utilizing immunomagnetic beads(IMBs)and quantum dots(QDs)for the rapid and simultaneous detection of 1-adamantylamine(ADA),enrofloxacin(ENR)and tilmicosin(TIL)in raw chicken meat.A pretreatment method using sodium phosphotungstate–magnesium as extraction reagent was developed to simultaneously extract ADA,ENR and TIL from chicken meat with minor interference in background or *** adding the IMBs modified with three types of antibodies and the QD-antigens modified with three types of BSA-antigens to sample,IMBs competitively conjugated to target antigens in a sample or *** magnetic separation,the residual QD-antigens were adopted to collect signals using fluorescence *** QDs with well separated emission peaks,the detection of one type of targets was minorly interfered by the *** the optimum conditions,the biosensor exhibited the limit of detection of 0.96,3.32,and 3.17 ng/mL for ADA,ENR and TIL in chicken samples,respectively,as well as good *** to the way of direct collection of signals in extracts,the tedious and complicated multiple magnetic separation and signal amplification procedures in conventional methods were avoided,thus the procedures were significantly simplified,and the reduction of the operation time of 30 min for sample pretreatment and 40 min for detection part was *** biosensor might be promising in the rapid,in-field and sensitive screening of multiple veterinary drugs to ensure agriculture and food safety.

Dear Editor,Fowl adenovirus(FAdV)and avian hepatitis E virus(aHEV)are the most important causative agents of hepatic injury,representing one of the greatest health concerns in layer chicken flocks(LCFs)in China and causes substantial economic *** are non-enveloped,double-stranded DNA viruses containing a genome of 43–45 kb in size and belong to the genus Aviadenovirus in the family of Adenoviridae(Hess,2000).Based on restriction enzyme digestion patterns and serum cross-neutralization tests,FAdV is currently clustered into five species(FAdV-A–FAdV-E)with 12 serotypes(FAdV-1 to-7,FAdV-8a,FAdV-8b,and FAdV-9 to-11).Different serotypes of FAdVs cause different clinical symptoms in poultry ***-1 can induce gizzard erosion in chickens,whereas inclusion body hepatitis(IBH)in chickens is often associated with FAdV-2,-8a,-8b,***-4 causes hydropericardium hepatitis syndrome and IBH in chickens,and its infections have caused severe economic losses in the global poultry industry(Ye et al.,2016).Avian hepatitis E virus(aHEV)is a major causative agent of big liver and spleen disease(BLS),hepatitis splenomegaly syndrome,and hepatic rupture hemorrhage syndrome(HRHS)in chickens(Sun et al.,2019).

Background:The relationship between diet and intestinal microbiota and mucin composition appears to be fundamental for poultry gut *** effects of insect meal(whose role as alternative feed ingredient is now well recognized)on gut microbiota and mucin composition have recently been reported in Tenebrio molitor-fed free-range and broiler chickens,but no data are currently available for Hermetia illucens(HI)-fed *** present study evaluated the effects of dietary HI meal inclusion on cecal microbiota and intestinal mucin composition of broiler ***:A total of 256 male broiler chickens were allotted to 4 dietary treatments(control diet[C]and 5%,10%and 15%HI meal inclusion,with 8 replicate pens/treatment and 8 birds/pen)and slaughtered at 35 d of age(2 animals/pen,16 birds/diet).The cecal microbiota assessment by 16S rRNA amplicon based sequencing showed lower alpha diversity in HI15 chickens(Shannon,P<0.05)and higher beta diversity(Adonis and ANOSIM,P<0.001)in birds fed HI diets than ***,HI15 birds displayed significant increase of the relative abundance of Proteobacteria phylum(False Discovery Rate[FDR]<0.05)when compared to HI10.L-Ruminococcus(Ruminococcus from Lachnospiraceae family),Faecalibacterium,Blautia and Clostridium genera were found to be characteristic of HI5 cecal microbiota(FDR<0.05),while broiler chickens fed HI10 and HI15 diets were characterized(FDR<0.05)by Lactobacillus and Ruminococcus(HI10)and Bacteroides,Roseburia and Helicobacter genera(HI15).Periodic-acid Schiff,Alcian Blue pH 2.5 and high iron diamine staining on small and large intestine also demonstrated lower mucin staining intensity in the intestinal villi of HI10 and HI15 birds than C(P<0.05).Conclusions:Dietary HI meal utilization at low inclusion levels(i.e.,5%)positively influenced either the cecal microbiota or the gut mucin dynamics in terms of selection of potentially beneficial bacteria and increase in villi ***,high inclusion levels(in

Background:The intestinal microbiota play remarkable roles in maintaining the health of their *** studies focused on gut bacterial diversity in birds and poultry,with little information about the ecological functions of their gut fungal ***:The high-throughput sequencing was applied to compare intestinal fungal community structure between Hooded Crane(Grus monacha)and Domestic Goose(Anser anser domesticus),and infer the potential pathogens of each species at Shengjin Lake of ***:Intestinal fungal alpha diversity was higher in Hooded Crane than Greylag Goose(Anser anser).Gut fungal community composition showed dramatic shifts between the two *** Cranes mainly eat Vallisneria natans and Potamogeton malaianus,while artificial hurl food(i.e.,paddy)was the main food resource for Domestic Geese,suggesting that the variations in fungal community might be induced by different diets between the two *** enriched genera(i.e.,Acremonium and Rhodotorula)which could increase host's digestion were detected in guts of Hooded *** addition,there were 42 pathogenic amplicon sequence variants(ASVs),17%of which shared in Hooded Crane and Greylag *** Hooded Crane had higher gut fungal pathogenic diversity and abundance relative to Greylag ***:The study demonstrated that divergence in intestinal fungal community structure might be induced by different diets between wintering Hooded Crane and Domestic *** Crane might rely more on their gut fungal taxa to acquire nutrients from indigestible food *** study also implied that more research should focus on intestinal pathogens in wild birds and domestic poultry,as they might increase risk of disease in other animals,even human *** degree of cross infection in pathogens among wild birds and sympatric poultry should be clearly verified in future study.

Background:Gut microbiota play crucial roles in host *** birds and domestic poultry often occupy sympatric habitats,which facilitate the mutual transmission of intestinal ***,the distinct intestinal microbial communities between sympatric wild birds and poultry remain *** present,the risk of interspecies transmission of pathogenic bacteria between wild and domestic host birds is also a research ***:This study compared the intestinal bacterial communities of the overwintering Hooded Crane(Grus monacha)and the Domestic Goose(Anser anser domesticus)at Shengjin Lake,China,using Illumina high-throughput sequencing technology(Mi-Seq platform).Results:Our results revealed that Firmicutes,Actinobacteria,Proteobacteria,Bacteroidetes and Chloroflexi were the dominant bacterial phyla in both *** gut bacterial community composition differed significantly between sympatric Hooded Cranes and Domestic ***,the hosts exhibited little variation in gut bacterial *** relative abundance of Firmicutes was significantly higher in the guts of the Hooded Cranes,while the relative abundances of Actinobacteria,Proteobacteria,Bacteroidete and Chloroflexi were significantly higher in guts of Domestic ***,a total of 132 potential pathogenic operational taxonomic units(OTUs)were detected in guts of Hooded Cranes and Domestic Geese,and 13 pathogenic OTUs(9.8%)were found in both host *** bacterial community composition and diversity differed significantly between ***:The results showed that the gut bacterial community composition differs significantly between sympatric Hooded Cranes and Domestic *** addition,potential pathogens were detected in the guts of both Hooded Cranes and Domestic Geese,with 13 pathogenic OTUs overlapping between the two hosts,suggesting that more attention should be paid to wild birds and poultry that might increase the risk of disease transmission in conspecific
