Enhanced removal of phosphonates from aqueous solution using PMS/UV/hydrated zirconium oxide process

Traditional treatment processes cannot completely remove phosphonates in circulating cooling water by one-step method. Herein, we designed peroxymonosulfate/UV irradiation/hydrated zirconium oxide(PMS/UV/HZO) coupling process to enhance the phosphonates removal. In particular, nitrilotrismethylenephosphonic acid(NTMP) removal efficiency by PMS/UV/HZO process was much higher than that of PMS/UV process, UV/HZO process and other processes in comparison experiments. Specifically,almost 97.2% NTMP in water was degraded, and the total phosphorous(TP) reduced from 9.3 mg/L to 0.26 mg/L at pH 7 within 180 min. TP removal efficiency still reached above 90% after 5 cycles adsorptiondesorption of HZO. Moreover, Cl^(-), NO_(3)-and SO_(4)^(2-)ions all had negligible effect on NTMP removal. During the process, NTMP was first destroyed to form phosphates and other intermediates by the reactive oxygen species(ROS), then phosphates were in situ immobilized via HZO adsorption. Sulfate radical(SO_(4)^(·-))has been confirmed to be the major ROS in the reaction system by quenching experiment and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) characterization. And the excellent selective adsorption capacity of HZO for phosphate produced was attributed to the strong inner-sphere coordination between H_(2)PO_(4)-/HPO_(4)^(2-)and Zr-OH on the surface of HZO. These results suggest that PMS/UV/HZO process is a promising technique for enhanced phosphonates decontamination.

Synthesis of N-(alkoxycarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl-methyl-alkoxyphosphonyl)-α-amino-O,O-diphenyl phosphonates and their bioactivities

With phosphoric formic acid (PFA) and its analog,phosphonoacetic acid (PAA),as the lead compounds,α-amino phosphonates were introduced into PFA and *** derivatives oi N-( alkoxycarbonyl-aikoxyphosphonyl)-α-arnino phosphonates (Ⅰ) and N-(alkoxycarbonyl-methyt-alkoxyphosphonyl)-α-amino phosphonates (Ⅱ) with the N-terminal of amino phosphonates bonding to phosphorus atom of PFA and PAA were synthesized via the reaction of the corresponding phosphonyl chloride with a-amino phosphonates in the presence of a *** 31P NMK spectra of Ⅰ and Ⅱwere *** is found that the coupling constants 3Jpp with R3 being alkyl group were lower than those with R3 being (substituted) phenyl,and this result was *** preliminary bioassay showed that some of the compounds Ⅰ and Ⅱhave better activities against tobacco mosaic virus (TMV).The inhibitory was higher than that of DHT (2,4-dioxyhexahydro-1,3,5-triazine).In addition,some of the compounds showed the activity against cancer cells.

Buoyed by the extensive research on the wide-range biological activities of aminophosphonates, a novel class of aminated (cyclopropylmethyl)phosphor-nates compounds was synthesized from diethyl ((1-(3-chloropropyl)cyclopropyl)methyl)phosphonate and various amines in the presence of Hunig’s base. Upon biological activity screening these compounds demonstrated encouraging anti-pancreatic cancer properties at low micromolar concentrations.

Aminated Cyclopropylmethylphosphonates as Potent Prostate Cancer Inhibitors

Inspired by the anti-pancreatic promising results of our novel aminated cyclopropylmethylphosphonate compounds, an in vitro anti-prostate cancer activity exploration of these compounds was carried out on human prostate cancer cell line PC-3, and showed potent inhibiting activity at low micromolar concentrations (with an IC50 of approximately 45 μM).

A novel microporous two-dimensional(2D)Ni-based phosphonate metal-organic framework(MOF;denoted as IEF-13)has been successfully synthesized by a simple and green hydrothermal method and fully characterized using a combination of experimental and computational *** resolution by single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that IEF-13 crystallizes in the triclinic space group Pi having bi-octahedra nickel nodes and a photo/electroactive tritopic phosphonate ***,this material exhibits coordinatively unsaturated nickel(II)sites,free-P0_(3)H_(2)and-P0_(3)H acidic groups,a C0_(2)accessible microporosity,and an exceptional thermal and chemical ***,its in-deep optoelectronic characterization evidences a photoresponse suitable for *** this sense,the photocatalytic activity for challenging H_(2)generation and overall water splitting in absence of any co-catalyst using UV-Vis irradiation and simulated sunlight has been evaluated,constituting the first report for a phosphonate-MOF ***-13 is able to produce up to 2,200 fimol of H_(2)per gram using methanol as sacrificial agent,exhibiting stability,maintaining its crystal structure and allowing its *** more,170μmol of H_(2)per gram were produced using IEF-13 as photocatalyst in the absence of any co-catalyst for the overall water splitting,being this reaction limited by the 0_(2)*** present work opens new avenues for further optimization of the photocatalytic activity in this type of multifunctional materials.

Photolysis of hexamethylenediaminetetra(methylenephosphonic acid)(HDTMP)using manganese and hydrogen peroxide

Aminophosphonates such as hexamethylenediaminetreta(methylene phosphonic acid)(HDTMP)are categorised as persistent *** are commonly used as scale inhibitors in cooling water systems and desalination *** utilisation,they are often discharged into aquatic environment without *** oxidation processes(AOP)are promising pre-treatments for industrial wastewater *** investigated the photodegradation of HDTMP with or without addition of manganese(Mn2t)and/or *** to results of our former photodegradation studies,we found that HDTMP also undergoes conversion with or without additives during the ultra violet(UV)*** reaction rate was most affected by the addition of H2O2,*** HDTMP degradation was accelerated by a factor 3.85 compared with UV treatment without *** addition of Mn2t accelerated the degradation of HDTMP only by a factor 1.53 compared with the UV treatment without *** combined addition of Mn2t and H2O2 accelerated the HDTMP degradation by a factor ***,the initial cleavage is not initiated as expected at the CeN bond but at the CeP bond of the methyl carbon and the phosphorus of the methylenephosphonic acid group of *** initial cleavage was independent whether the UV treatment was performed with or without ***,we conclude that the degradation mechanism is similar independent of the four tested treatment *** identified amino(methylenephosphonic acid)AMPA,dimethylamino(methylenephosphonic acid)DAMP and iminodi(methylenephosphonic acid)IDMP as the major breakdown products by performing LC/MS *** major mineralisation products were ortho-phosphate,ammonium and carbon *** mass balances of unknown breakdown products allowed us to speculate about the molecular size of the unknown organic breakdown products.

The development of phosphorus-contained drug depends on supporting and accumulation of phosphorus organic synthetic *** to synthesis potential medicinal compounds efficiently which contained both fluorine and phosphorus is always an important ***,a three-component,one-pot reaction was studied in this part by using trifluoromethyl alkynylphosphonate 2,malononitrile 1 and cyclic 1,3-diketones 3 as starting *** was added into a mixture of trifluoromethyl alkynylphosphonate 2 and malononitrile *** a short time,cyclic 1,3-diketones 3 was added into the reaction system.A series of both fluorine and phosphorus containing 4H-pyrans 4 was obtained via this one-pot three-component reaction（Table 1）.
