Synthesis of di-substituted aryl olefins via a Pd（0）-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of biphenyl ketones/alde- hydes, tosylhydrazide, and aryl bromides （or benzyl halides） was developed. This methodology was achieved by one-pot two-step reactions involving the preparation of N-tosylhydrazones by reacting tosylhydrazide with biphenyl ketones/aldehydes, followed by coupling with aryl bromides （or benzyl halides） in the presence of Pd（PPh3）4 and lithium t-butoxide to produce various di-substituted aryl olefins in moderate to good yields.

The one-pot sequential reaction of arylamines, methyl propiolate and 2-aryl-3-nitrochromenes without any catalyst in refluxing ethanol afforded the polysubstituted 3-（3-nitro-2-phenylchroman-4-yl）-3-arylaminoacrylates in good yields and with high diastereoselectivity. reaction mechanism was believed involving the initial formation of β-enamino ester and sequential Michael addition.

An efficient and highly stereoselective synthetic method to access polycyclic chromanes has been achieved through organocatalyzed one-pot step-wise reactions involving 2-hydroxycinnamaldehydes,2-aminochalcones,and malononitrile as *** reactions underwent a quintuple process by aza-Michael/Michael/Knoevenagel/oxa-Michael/aldol-type reaction in sequence to give products bearing 3 new generated rings and 5 chiral centers in moderate to quantitative yields with excellent stereoselectivities.

The one-pot four-component reaction of benzohydrazide,acetylenedicarboxylate,aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile in ethanol with triethylamine as base catalyst afforded functionalized 1-benzamido-1,4-dihydropyridines in satisfactory *** similar conditions,picolinohydrazide or nicotinohydrazide can also be successfully utilized in the reactions to give corresponding functionalized 1,4-dihydropyridines.1H NMR data indicated that an equilibrium of cis/trans-conformations exist in 1-benzamido-1,4-dihydropyridines.

The novel spirooxindoline fused [1,3]oxazines were efficiently synthesized from Diels-Alder reaction of N-arylmaleimides with 1,2-dihydro-2-oxospiro[3H-indole-3,2＇-[2H,9aH-pyrido[2,1-b][l,3]oxazines], which were generated in situ from three-component reactions of substituted pyridines and isatins with methyl propiolate, or di- methyl acetylenedicarboxylate. The stereochemistry of the products was clearly clarified by the analysis of 1H NMR data and single crystal structures of the obtained polycyclic compounds.

A simple and efficient protocol was established to synthesize γ-nitrocarbonyl compounds via three-component one-pot tandem condensation reaction of aldehydes, Meldrum＇s acid and nitroalkanes under solventfree conditions. The present method shows fascinating features such as using readily available starting materials, promoting the yields by inexpensive and mild organic base triethylamine, omiting the synthesis of Michael acceptor and avoiding the use of organic solvent. This strategy provides an easy alternative synthetic approach to the useful intermediate, γ-nitrocarbonyl compounds, with moderate to good yields.

In the presence of zinc chloride,the in situ generatedβ-enamino ester from the reaction of morpholine,piperidine and pyrrolidine with methyl propiolate reacted,with aromatic aldehydes and thiourea in ethanol resulting in the functionalized tetrahydropyrimidin-2-thiones in satisfactory yields and with good *** aromatic aldehydes bearing electron-withdrawing group were used in the reaction,the 4-hydroxytetrahydropyrimidin-2-thione derivatives were obtained as the main product.

Aldehydes are perhaps the most versatile compounds that enable many C-C bond forming reactions,which are not amenable for other subclasses of carbonyl *** report the first use of amides as surrogates of aldehydes for C-C bond formation,namely,the direct Knoevenagel-type condensation based on *** one-pot method consists of controlled reduction of an amide with LDBIPA[LiAlH(iBu)2(OiPr)],Lewis acid-mediated release of a reactive iminium ion intermediate,nucleophilic addition,and in situ elimination of *** reaction shows good functional group *** also demonstrated that the Schwartz reagent could be used as an alternative of *** employment of nitromethane and a silyl enol ether as the nucleophiles opens an avenue for the unprecedented amide-based nitro-aldol condensation reaction and aldol condensation reaction,respectively.

Suzuki coupling reactions between symmetrical monomers were conducted in various mesoporous silica nanoreactors grafted with palladium catalysts,enabling the selective formation of[12]cycloparaphenylene precursor with separate yield up to 25%in one-pot reactions,much higher than that in homogeneous *** spatial nanoconfinement of the nanoreactors promotes the macrocyclization while limits the concomitant linear oligomer formation,offering more possibilities for the synthesis of macrocycles from symmetrical monomers in one-pot reaction.
