oleic acid reduces steroidogenesis by changing the lipid type stored in lipid droplets of ovarian granulosa cells

Background:oleic acid is an abundant free fatty acid present in livestock that are in a negative energy-balance state,and it may have detrimental effects on female reproduction and *** acid induces lipid accumulation in bovine granulosa cells,which leads to a foam cell-like morphology and reduced ***,why oleic acid increases lipid accumulation but decreases steroidogenesis remains *** study focused on oleic acid’s effects on lipid type and ***:oleic acid increased the lipid accumulation in a concentration-dependent manner and mainly increased the triglyceride level and decreased the cholesterol ester *** acid also led to a decline in estradiol and progesterone production in porcine granulosa cells in *** addition,oleic acid up-regulated the expression of CD36 and diacylglycerol acyltransferase 2,but down-regulated the expression of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutarylcoenzyme A reductase,scavenger receptor class B member 1 and acetyl-Coenzyme A acetyltransferase 2,as well as steroidogenesis-related genes,including cytochrome P450 family 11 subfamily A member 1,cytochrome P450family 19 subfamily A member 1 and 3 as well as steroidogenic acute regulatory protein at the mRNA and protein *** oleic acid-rich diet also enhanced the triglyceride levels and reduced the cholesterol levels in ovarian tissues of female mice,which resulted in lower estradiol levels than in control-fed *** with the control,decreases in estrus days and the numbers of antral follicles and corpora lutea,as well as an increase in the numbers of the atretic follicles,were found in the oleic acid-fed female ***:oleic acid changed the lipid type stored in lipid droplets of ovarian granulosa cells,and led to a decrease in *** results improve our understanding of fertility decline in livestock that are in a negative energy-balance state.

Influence of surface modification of SrFe12O19 particles with oleic acid on magnetic microsphere preparation

oleic acid was used as surface modification agent to improve the hydrophobicity of magnetic strontium hexaferrite particles. The structure and properties of treated magnetic particles were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy （SEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectra （FTIR）, powder X-ray diffraction （XRD） and magnetic property measurement system （MPMS）. The results show that oleic acid is chemically enwrapped on the surface of SrFe12O19 particles. Magnetic particles modified by oleic acid are highly dispersible and strongly responsive to magnetism but with slight decrease in saturated magnetization. The affinity between magnetic particles and monomers is improved by surface modification, resulting in increased particle incorporation in magnetic polymeric microspheres. The surface modification mechanism of magnetic particles by oleic acid is addressed in this work.

Enzymatic reaction of ethanol and oleic acid by lipase and lignin peroxidase in rhamnolipid(RL) reversed micelles

An environment friendly bio-surfactant of rhamnolipid(RL) was used as a solvent. The enzymatic reaction of oleic acid catalyzed by lipase and lignin peroxidase(lip) was evaluated. The optimum conditions of enzymatic reaction catalyzed by lipase(lip) were water to amphiphile molar ratio of 30(20), RL of 60(60) critical micelle concentration(CMC), pH of 7.0(3.0) and temperature of 40(30) °C, respectively. The change of enzyme conformation indicates that, for catalytic of lipase, water content is the most important factor of the enzymatic reaction of oleic acid, and p H for lip. With individual optimum conditions, the enzymatic efficiency of oleic acid catalyzed by lipase is higher than that by lip. In the presence of ethanol, the enzymatic reaction of oleic acid catalyzed by lipase suits Ping-Pong Bi-Bi mechanism. As an alternative to chemical reversed micelles, the RL reversed micelles are promising methods to enzymatic reaction of oleic acid.

Evaluation of solvent-mediated phase transformation of glycine using oleic acid: Morphology and characterization study

The polymorphic phase transformation of β-glycine to α-glycine was carried out both in the absence and presence of various concentrations of oleic acid used as additive at 25 ℃ in a water/ethanol medium. The effects of oleic acid and its concentration on phase transformation time were determined by continuously measuring the ultrasonic velocity. The crystals obtained by the completion of the phase transformation were characterized by XRD, SEM, and TG/DTG. The XRD and SEM results indicated that oleic acid significantly impacted phase transformation time and the morphological characteristics of the crystals. In addition to SEM analysis, detailed crystal shape analysis was performed and the circularity, elongation, and convexity parameters were determined quantitatively. TG/DTG analyses were performed to investigate thermal decomposition behavior and to calculate the activation energies based on different kinetic models such as FWO, KAS, Starink, and Tang kinetic models. With the addition of oleic acid to the medium, the calculated activation energy values increased from 89.63–90.63 to153.8–155.4 kJ·mol^（-1）. The activation energy values showed that oleic acid was adsorbed on the crystal surface;this result was supported by FTIR, elemental, and Kjeldahl analyses.

Synergistic mechanism between SDBS and oleic acid in anionic flotation of rhodochrosite

Pure mineral flotation experiments, zeta potential testing, and infrared spectroscopy were employed to investigate the interracial reactions of oleic acid （collector）, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate （SDBS, synergist）, and rhodochrosite in an anionic system. The pure mineral test shows that oleic acid has a strong ability to collect products on rhodochrosite. Under neutral to moderately alkaline conditions, low temperature （e.g., 10℃） adversely affects the flotation performance of oleic acid; the addition of SDBS significantly improves the dis- persion and solubility of oleic acid, enhancing its collecting ability and flotation recovery. The zeta potential test shows that rhodochrosite interacts with oleic acid and SDBS, resulting in a more negative zeta potential and the co-adsorption of the collector and synergist at the mineral surface. Infrared spectroscopy demonstrated that when oleic acid and SDBS are used as a mixed collector, oleates along with -COO- and --COOH functional groups are formed on the mineral surface, indicating chemical adsorption on rhodochrosite. The results demonstrate that oleic acid and SDBS co-adsorb chemically on the surface ofrhodochrosite, thereby improving the flotation performance of the collector.

Developmental changes in lipid and fatty acid metabolism and the inhibition by in ovo feeding oleic acid in Muscovy duck embryogenesis

Hepatic lipid and fatty acid(FA)metabolism are critical for regulating energetic homeostasis during *** present,it remains unclear how an exogenous FA intervention affects embryonic development in an avian embryo *** Exp.1,30 fertilized eggs were sampled on embryonic days(E)16,19,22,25,28,31 and the day of hatch(DOH)to determine the critical period of lipid *** Exp.2,a total of 120 fertilized eggs were divided into two groups(60 eggs/group)for in ovo feeding(IOF)procedures on *** were injected into the yolk sac with PBS as the control group and with oleic acid(OA)as the IOF-OA treatment *** were collected on E28 and *** Exp.1,hepatic triacylglycerol(TG)and cholesterol(CHO)contents increased while serum TG content decreased from E16 to DOH(P0.05).Maximal metabolic changes in lipid and FA metabolism occurred on E22-E28 in Muscovy duck embryogenesis,along with the altered target gene and protein expression related to lipogenesis and ***-OA intervention on E25 could inhibit the target gene expression related to FA uptake,synthesis,and oxidation,which may influence the normal FA metabolism on E28 during embryogenesis.

The AlMCM-41 molecular sieves with two different pore sizes are hydrothermally synthesized in the presence of surfactants with two different chain lengths. H-AlMCM-41 and Ru-Sn-B/H-AlMCM-41 which are prepared by the conventional ion-exchange and incipient wetness techniques of the AlMCM-41 show fair catalytic activity for esterification of glycerol by oleic acid and selective hydrogenation of oleic acid methylester, respectively.
