Segmentation of cursive text has been one of the major problems in Arabic writing. The problem is the shape of the letter which is context sensitive, depending on it’s location within a word. Many text recognition systems recognize text imagery at the character level and assemble words from the recognized characters. Unfortunately this approach does not work with Arabic text. In this paper we describe a new approach to segment Arabic text imagery at a word level, without analyzing individual characters. This approach avoids the problem of individual characters segmentation, and can overcome local errors in character recognition.

In 2010,Lee et al proposed two simple and efficient three-party password-authenticated key exchange protocols that had been proven secure in the random oracle *** argued that the two protocols could resist offline dictionary ***,the provable approach did not provide protection against off-line dictionary *** paper shows that the two protocols are vulnerable to off-line dictionary attacks in the presence of an inside attacker because of an authentication *** study conducts a detailed analysis on the flaw in the protocols and also shows how to eliminate the security flaw.

In order to further understand the land surface processes over the northern Tibetan Plateau, this study produced an off-line simulated examination at the Bujiao site on the northern Tibetan Plateau from June 2002 to April 2004, using the Noah Land Surface Model （Noah LSM） and observed data from the CAMP/Tibet experiment. The observed data were neces- sarily corrected and the number of soil layers in the Noah LSM was changed from 4 to 10 to enable this off-line simulation and analysis. The main conclusions are as follows： the Noah LSM performed well on the northern Tibetan Plateau. The simulated net radiation, upward longwave radiation, and upward shortwave radiation demonstrated the same remarkable annual and seasonal variation as the observed data, especially the upward longwave radiation. The simulated soil temperatures were acceptably close to the observed temperatures, especially in the shallow soil layers. The simulated freezing and melting processes were shown to start from the surface soil layer and spread down to the deep soil layers, but they took longer than the observed processes. However, Noah LSM did not adequately simulate the soil moisture. Therefore, additional high-quality, long-term observations of land surface-atmosphere processes over the Tibetan Plateau will be a key factor in proper adiustments of the model parameters in the future.

Fuzzy-GA PID controller with incomplete derivation and its application to intelligent bionic artificial leg

An optimal PID controller with incomplete derivation is proposed based on fuzzy inference and the geneticalgorithm, which is called the fuzzy-GA PID controller with incomplete derivation. It consists of the off-line part andthe on-line part. In the off-line part, by taking the overshoot, rise time, and settling time of system unit step re-sponse as the performance indexes and by using the genetic algorithm, a group of optimal PID parameters K*p , Ti* ,and Tj are obtained, which are used as the initial values for the on-line tuning of PID parameters. In the on-linepart, based on K; , Ti* , and T*d and according to the current system error e and its time derivative, a dedicatedprogram is written, which is used to optimize and adjust the PID parameters on line through a fuzzy inference mech-anism to ensure that the system response has optimal dynamic and steady-state performance. The controller has beenused to control the D. C. motor of the intelligent bionic artificial leg designed by the authors. The result of computersimulation shows that this kind of optimal PID controller has excellent control performance and robust performance.

Prediction of diameter errors compensation in bars turning

On the basis of analyzing the machine-workpiece-tool system, the main factors affecting diameter errors in bars turning are considered, and the mathematic models of the actual workpiece diameter at the cutting point are established according to the three usual methods of mounting workpieces on a turning machine. Further a prediction system for diameter errors is developed; a new method, called discrete nodes output, is presented and applied to expressing workpiece diameter errors at given points along the part axis, then off-line compensation is implemented according to the prediction values to diminish machining errors. The results indicate that the method can diminish diameter errors more than 70%, greatly improve the machining accuracy of bars.

Biosensors, which are the products of the biotechnology industry, are among the key projects of the 7th, 8th, and 9th Fiveyear Plans of China Science ＆ Technology Developing Programs, respectively, and they play an important role in developing and reforming traditional biotechnology. SBA series biosensor analyzer, as the only one commercial biosensor in China, has attracted lots of attention in the process of information gathering and measurement for biological industry with the development of technology and society. In this paper, we presented an overview of the most important contributions dealing with the monitoring of the biochemical analytes in fermentation processes using SBA series biosensor analyzers in China. Future trends of the biosensor analyzer in China were also mentioned in the last section.

In this paper a real-time peak detection method based on modified Automatic Multiscale Field Detection (AMPD) algorithm and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) technologies of a time series data is studied, and optimum scaling is highlighted after testing several scales. To validate the results obtained from modified algorithm, they are compared with the results of original AMPD method. As data of this study, three-phase voltage values of a power station are used. A detail detective sensitivity analysis of phase-to-phase voltage values is tried at different scales. Moreover, the original algorithm is tested regarding the off-line mode to obtain optimum scaling for real-time peak point detection. It is concluded that the peak detection of minimum and maximum points of data series achieved by modified algorithm is very close to the results of original AMPD algorithm.
