BACKGROUND In recent years,neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)has been increasingly used in patients with resectable colorectal liver ***,the efficacy and safety of NAC in the treatment of resectable colorectal liver metastases(CRLM)are still *** To assess the efficacy and application value of NAC in patients with resectable *** We searched PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and the Cochrane Library from inception to December 2020 to collect clinical studies comparing NAC with *** processing and statistical analyses were performed using Stata V.15.0 and Review Manager 5.0 *** In total,32 studies involving 11236 patients were included in this *** divided the patients into two groups,the NAC group(that received neoadjuvant chemotherapy)and the non-NAC group(that received no neoadjuvant chemotherapy).The meta-analysis outcome showed a statistically significant difference in the 5-year overall survival and 5-year disease-free survival between the two *** hazard ratio(HR)and 95%confidence interval(CI)were HR=0.49,95%CI:0.39-0.61,P=0.000 and HR=0.4895%CI:0.36-0.63,P=*** duration of surgery in the NAC group was longer than that of the non-NAC group[standardized mean difference(SMD)=0.41,95%CI:0.01-0.82,P=0.044)].The meta-analysis showed that the number of liver metastases in the NAC group was significantly higher than that in the non-NAC group(SMD=0.73,95%CI:0.02-1.43,P=0.043).The lymph node metastasis in the NAC group was significantly higher than that in the non-NAC group(SMD=1.24,95%CI:1.07-1.43,P=0.004).CONCLUSION We found that NAC could improve the long-term prognosis of patients with resectable *** the same time,the NAC group did not increase the risk of any adverse event compared to the non-NAC group.

Objective: Evaluation the role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in invasive thymoma. Methods: 14 patients with invasive thymoma(Masaoka stage Ⅲ in 12 and Ⅳa in 2) were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy by CAVP for 3-4 cycles (cyclophosphamide 600mg/m2 D1, adramycin 30mg/m2 or epi-adramycin 40mg/m2 D1, vincristine 0.6mg/m2 D1 or vindestine 3mg/m2 D1、D8, cisplatin 30mg/m2 D1、2、3)。After chemotherapy, all patients underwent operation in 1-3 months. We performed 10 sternotomies and 4 anterolateral thoracotomies. Radiotherapy was administrated with total dose 50-60Gy in all patients except for those who were pathologically complete remission. The group was followed up by 6 months to 3 years. Results :After chemotherapy, 5 patients(35.7%) had a complete remission(CR) and 9 patients(64.3%) had a partial remission(PR)。At operation, 9 patients had radical resection and 5 had partial resection. Postoperative pathological examination found only fibrosis in 5 patients with CR by chemotherapy. All patients were still alive except 2 patients died from visceral metastasis after 18 months and 2 years respectively. Conclusion: neoadjuvant chemotherapy can increase the resectability of stage Ⅲ and Ⅳa invasive thymoma. A longer follow-up and a larger number of patients are needed to determine the impact of this treatment on long-term survival.

Patients with hormone receptor(HR)-positive tumors breast cancer usually experience a relatively low pathological complete response(p CR)to neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC).Here,we derived a 10-micro RNA risk score(10-mi RNA RS)-based model with better performance in the prediction of p CR and validated its relation with the disease-free survival(DFS)in 755 HRpositive breast cancer patients(273,265,and 217 in the training,internal,and external validation sets,respectively).This model,presented as a nomogram,included four parameters:the 10-mi RNA RS found in our previous study,progesterone receptor(PR),human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)status,and volume transfer constant(K).Favorable calibration and discrimination of 10-mi RNA RS-based model with areas under the curve(AUC)of 0.865,0.811,and 0.804 were shown in the training,internal,and external validation sets,*** who have higher nomogram score(>92.2)with NAC treatment would have longer DFS(hazard ratio=0.57;95%CI:0.39–0.83;P=0.004).In summary,our data showed the 10-mi RNA RS-based model could precisely identify more patients who can attain p CR to NAC,which may help clinicians formulate the personalized initial treatment strategy and consequently achieves better clinical prognosis for patients with HRpositive breast cancer.

Treatment-induced apoptosis of cancer cells is one goal of cancer ***,more heat is generated by mitochondria during apoptosis,especially the uncoupled apoptotic state,^(1,2) compared to the resting *** this case study,we explore these thermal effects by longitudinally measuring temperature variations in a breast lesion of a pathological complete responder during neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC).Diffuse Optical Spectroscopic Imaging(DOSI)was employed to derive absolute deep tissue temperature using subtle spectral features of the water peak at 975 nm.^(3)A significant temperature increase was observed in time windows during the anthracycline and cyclophosphamide(AC)regimen but not in the paclitaxel and bevacizumab *** concentration changes generally did not follow temperature,suggesting the measured temperature increases were likely due to mitochondrial uncoupling rather than a direct vascular effect.A simultaneous increase of tissue oxygen saturation with temperature was observed,suggesting that oxidative stress also contributes to *** preliminary,this study indicates longitudinal DOSI tissue temperature monitoring provides information that can improve our understanding of the mechanisms of tissue response during NAC.
