Phosphorus concentration on the surface of seawater varies greatly with different environments,especially in *** molecular mechanism by which cyanobacteria adapt to fluctuating phosphorus bioavailability is still *** this study,transcriptomes and gene knockouts were used to investigate the adaptive molecular mechanism of a model coastal cyanobacterium Synechococcus *** 7002 during periods of phosphorus starvation and phosphorus recovery(adding sufficient phosphorus after phosphorus starvation).The findings indicated that phosphorus deficiency affected the photosynthesis,ribosome synthesis,and bacterial motility pathways,which recommenced after phosphorus was *** more,most of the metabolic pathways of cyanobacteria were enhanced after phosphorus recovery compared to the control which was kept in continuous phosphorus replete *** on transcriptome,54 genes potentially related to phosphorusdeficiency adaptation were selected and knocked out individually or in *** was found that five mutants showed weak growth phenotype under phosphorus deficiency,indicating the importance of the genes(A0076,A0549-50,A1094,A1320,A1895)in the adaptation of phosphorus *** mutants were found to grow better than the wild type under phosphorus deficiency,suggesting that the products of these genes(A0079,A0340,A2284–86)might influence the adaptation to phosphorus *** analysis revealed that cyanobacteria exposed to highly fluctuating phosphorus concentrations have more sophisticated phosphorus acquisition *** results elucidated that Synechococcus *** 7002 have variable phosphorus response mechanisms to adapt to fluctuating phosphorus concentration,providing a novel perspective of how cyanobacteria may respond to the complex and dynamic environments.

To overcome the limitations of traditional experimental“trial and error”methods in lubricant additive design,a new molecular design method based on molecular structure parameters is established *** molecular mechanism of the antioxidant reaction of hindered phenol,diphenylamine,and alkyl sulfide are studied via molecular *** results show that the strong electron-donating ability and high hydrogen-donating activity of the antioxidant molecule and the low hydrogen-abstracting activity of free radicals formed after dehydrogenation are the internal molecular causes of the shielding of phenol and diphenylamine from scavenging peroxy free radicals,and the strong electron-donating ability is the internal molecular cause of the high activity of thioether in decomposing alkyl hydrogen *** on this antioxidant molecular mechanism,a molecular design rule of antioxidant is proposed,namely“high EHOMO,large Q(S),low bond dissociation energy BDE(O—H)and BDE(N—H)”.Two new antioxidants,PAS-I and PAS-II,are designed and prepared by chemical bonding of hindered phenol,diphenylamine,and sulfur *** results show that these antioxidants both have excellent antioxidant effects in lubricating oil,and that PAS-II is the superior antioxidant,consistent with theoretical predictions.

Comparative proteomics analysis of tea leaves exposed to subzero temperature:molecular mechanism of freeze injury

Tea freeze injury is one of the most severe agro-meteorological disasters,which leads to sizable losses of tea production in *** freezing resistant ability of overwintering tea trees becomes weaker and weaker from early-spring to *** it decreases to critical temperature of-2℃or lower in the stage with one or two leaves,tea trees suffer from freeze injury and the yield or quality of spring tea production could decrease *** measurements have been taken to prevent such damage,the physiological and biochemical mechanism of how tea(Camellia Sinensis)plant response to freeze injury is still to be elucidated.A comparative proteomics analysis was made on tea leaves at the two-leaf *** differential image analysis showed 46 spots with density changes(29 spots increased and 17 spots decreased;pmolecular mechanism for freeze injury and provide a better decision making for freeze protection and control.

Absorption characteristics,model,and molecular mechanism of hydrogen sulfide in morpholine acetate aqueous solution

The solubility of H_(2)S was measured in solutions of N-butyl-N-methylmorpholine acetate([Bmmorp][Ac])containing 20%-40%(mass)water at experimental temperatures ranged from 298.15 to 328.15 K and pressures up to 320 k *** total solubility of H_(2)S increased with higher temperatures,lower pressures,and reduced water *** reaction equilibrium thermodynamic model was used to correlate the solubility *** results indicate that the chemical reaction equilibrium constant decrease with increasing water content and temperature,whereas Henry constant increase with increasing water content and *** with other ionic liquids,H_(2)S exhibits a higher physical absorption enthalpy and a lower chemical absorption enthalpy in[Bmmorp][Ac]aqueous *** suggests that[Bmmorp][Ac]has a strong physical affinity for H_(2)S and low energy requirement for *** chemical methods were used to investigate the molecular mechanism of H_(2)S absorption in ionic *** interaction energy analysis revealed that the binding of H_(2)S with the ionic liquid in a1:2 ratio is more *** analyses by the methods of the interaction region indicator and the atoms in molecules were conducted to the interactions between H_(2)S and the ionic liquid.

Diosgenin, a steroidal sapogenin, obtained from Trigonella foenum-graecum, Dioscorea, and Rhizoma polgonati, has shown high potential and interest in the treatment of various cancers, such as oral squamous cell carcinoma, laryngeal cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, glioma, and leukemia. This article aims to provide an overview of the in vivo, in vitro,and clinical studies reporting the diosgenin’s anticancer effects. Preclinical studies have shown promising effects of diosgenin on inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and growth, promoting apoptosis, inducing differentiation and autophagy, inhibiting tumor cell metastasis and invasion, blocking cell cycle, regulating immunity and improving gut microbiome. Clinical investigations have revealed clinical dosage and safety property of diosgenin. Furthermore, in order to improve the biological activity and bioavailability of diosgenin, this review focuses on the development of diosgenin nano drug carriers, combined drugs and the diosgenin derivatives. However, further designed trials are needed to unravel the diosgenin’s deficiencies in clinical application.

The potential molecular mechanism of overexpression of uPA, IL-8, MMP-7 and MMP-9 induced by TRAIL in pancreatic cancer cell

BACKGROUND: TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a death ligand of the TNF-superfamily that has been implicated in inducing apoptosis in some tumor cells. The purpose of this study was to find out if TRAIL could induce the expression of uPA, IL-8, MMP-7 and MMP-9. and to explore the corresponding potential signaling transduction pathway in pancreatic cancer cells. METHODS: Colo357wt, Panc89 and PancTu I cell lines were stimulated by TRAIL (100 ng/ml). Crystal violet cell vitality assay was used to check the sensitivity to TRAIL-induced apoptosis. Real-time RT-PCR tested the expression of uPA, IL-8, MMP-7 and MMP-9. RESULTS: TRAIL can stimulate the expression of uPA, IL-8, MMP-7 and MMP-9 in pancreatic cancer cell lines, especially in Colo357wt. The members of caspases, MEK1/2, PKC, and NF-kappa B are involved in TRAIL-induced expression of uPA, IL-8, MMP-7 and MMP-9. Furthermore, caspases play a different role in Colo357wt, Panc89 and PancTu I. CONCLUSIONS: TRAIL-treatment may result in the enhancement of invasion involving the signaling pathways of caspases, MEK1/2, PKC and NF-kappa B, in pancreatic cancer cells. It points to the necessity to carefully evaluate in vivo side effects of TRAIL.

A Network Pharmacology Study to Uncover the Multiple molecular mechanism of the Chinese Patent Medicine Toujiequwen Granules in the Treatment of Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)

Since the outbreak of the novel corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)at the end of 2019,specific antiviral drugs have been lacking.A Chinese patent medicine Toujiequwen granules has been promoted in the treatment of *** present study was designed to reveal the molecular mechanism of Toujiequwen granules against COVID-19.A network pharmacological method was applied to screen the main active ingredients of Toujiequwen *** analysis of 149 active ingredients and 330 drug targets showed the most active ingredient interacting with many drug targets is *** targets most ffected by the active ingredients were PTGS2,PTGS1,and *** target disease enrichment analysis showed drug targets were significantly enriched in cardiovascular diseases and digestive tract ***"active ingredient-target-disease"network showed that 57 active ingredients from Toujiequwen granules interacted with 15 key targets of *** were 53 ingredients that could act on DPP4,suggesting that DPP4 may become a potential new key target for the treatment of *** analysis results showed that key targets were mainly enriched in the cellular response to lipopolysaccharide,cytokine activity and other *** analysis showed they were mainly concentrated in viral protein interaction with cytokine and cytokine receptors and endocrine resistance *** evidence suggests that Toujiequwen granules might play an effective role by improving the symptoms of underlying diseases in patients with COVID-19 and multi-target interventions against mutiple signaling pathways related to the pathogenesis of COVID-19.
