Organic additives in all-inorganic perovskite solar cells and modules:from moisture endurance to enhanced efficiency and operational stability

Power conversion efficiency(PCE) of perovskite solar cells(PSC) has been skyrocketed to certified 25.5% owing to their improved and tunable optoelectronic properties. Although, various strategies have been adopted to date regarding PCE and stability enhancement within PSC technology, certain instability factors(moisture, heat, light) are hindering their commercial placement. Recently, all-inorganic PSCs got hype in the photovoltaic research community after they attained PCE > 20% and due to their significant endurance against heat and light mishmashes, but there only left moisture sensitivity as the only roadblock for their industrial integration. Here, we review the recent progress of additive inclusion into allinorganic(CsPbX_(3)) PSCs to stabilize their intrinsic structure and to withstand the performance limiting factors. We start with the detailed description of chemical instability of different perovskite compositions, phase segregation, and how organic molecules and dyes help to repair the structural defects to improve the overall PCE and stability of PSCs. Moisture endurance as a result of chemical passivation through organic additives, low-dimensional inorganic PSCs to enhance device stability and scalable fabrication of CsPbX_(3) PSCs are also reviewed. The challenges of module degradation and design implications with proposed strategies and outlook are interpreted in the ending phrases of this review.

Over the past 14 years,the efficiency of perovskite solar cells has surged from 3.8%to 26.7%[1],establishing it as an unrivaled choice for next-generation ***,maintaining the long-term stability of perovskite solar modules(PSMs)remains a *** particular,the thermal-and light-induced changes in crystal structure,composition,and optoelectronic properties are the primary causes of device degradation,currently considered the Achilles’heel that hinders its commercialization[2–4].Now,writing in Science,Ding et al.[5]achieve a milestone by overcoming the thermal-and light-induced degradation,rendering the PSM with a record efficiency of 23.2%and a T80(time to 20%efficiency loss)over 4,000 h at 85℃ and 85%relative humidity(RH)under light *** key behind this milestone is to utilize the cation reactivity to in-situ form methyl tetrahydrotriazinium([MTTZ]+,a new cation)and dimethylammonium([DMA]+)in precursor solution(Figure 1a).These cations remarkably modulate perovskite crystallization and stabilize the perovskite.

Discovery of leaf region and time point related modules and genes in maize(Zea mays L.)leaves by Weighted Gene Co-expression Network analysis(WGCNA)of gene expression profiles of carbon metabolism

Maize(Zea mays L.) yield depends not only on the conversion and accumulation of carbohydrates in kernels, but also on the supply of carbohydrates by leaves. However, the carbon metabolism process in leaves can vary across different leaf regions and during the day and night. Hence, we used Weighted Gene Co-expression Network analysis(WGCNA) with the gene expression profiles of carbon metabolism to identify the modules and genes that may associate with particular regions in a leaf and time of day. There were a total of 45 samples of maize leaves that were taken from three different regions of a growing maize leaf at five time points. Robust Multi-array Average analysis was used to pre-process the raw data of GSE85963(accession number), and quality control of data was based on Pearson correlation coefficients. We obtained eight co-expression network modules. The modules with the highest significance of association with LeafRegion and TimePoint were selected. Functional enrichment and gene-gene interaction analyses were conducted to acquire the hub genes and pathways in these significant modules. These results can support the findings of similar studies by providing evidence of potential module genes and enriched pathways associated with leaf development in maize.

Studies of key technologies for CdTe solar modules

In this paper, CdS thin films, which act as the window layer and n-type partner to the p-type CdTe layer, were prepared by chemical bath deposition (CBD). CdTe thin films were deposited by the close-spaced sublimation (CSS) method. To obtain high-quality back contacts, a Te-rich layer was created with chemical etching and back contact materials were applied after CdTe annealing. The results indicate that the ZnTe/ZnTe:Cu complex layers show superior performance over other back contacts. Finally, by using laser scribing and mechanical scribing, the CdTe mini-modules were fabricated, in which a glass/SnO2:F/CdS/CdTe/ZnTe/ZnTe:Cu/Ni solar module with a PWQC-confirmed total-area efficiency of 7.03% (54 cm2) was achieved.

Dissecting conserved cis-regulatory modules of Glu-1 promoters which confer the highly active endosperm-specific expression via stable wheat transformation

Wheat high-molecular-weight glutenin subunits(HMW-GS) determine dough elasticity and play an essential role in processing quality. HMW-GS are encoded by Glu-1 genes and controlled primarily at transcriptional level, implemented through the interactions between cis-acting elements and trans-acting factors. However, transcriptional mechanism of Glu-1 genes remains elusive. Here we made a comprehensive analysis of cis-regulatory elements within 1-kb upstream of the Glu-1 start codon(-1000 to-1) and identified 30 conserved motifs. Based on motif distribution pattern, three conserved cis-regulatory modules(CCRMs), CCRM1(-300 to-101), CCRM2(-650 to-400), and CCRM3(-950 to-750), were defined, and their functions were characterized in wheat stable transgenic lines transformed with progressive 5′ deletion promoter::GUS fusion constructs. GUS staining, qP CR and enzyme activity assays indicated that CCRM2 and CCRM3 could enhance the expression level of Glu-1, whereas the 300-bp promoter(-300 to-1), spanning CCRM1 and core region(-100 to-1), was enough to ensure accurate Glu-1 initiation at 7 days after flowering(DAF) and shape its spatiotemporal expression pattern during seed development. Further transgenic assays demonstrated that CCRM1-2(-300 to-209) containing Complete HMW Enhancer(-246 to-209) was important for expression level but had no effect on expression specificity in the endosperm. In contrast, CCRM1-1(-208 to-101) was critical for both expression specificity and level of Glu-1. Our findings not only provide new insights to uncover Glu-1 transcription regulatory machinery but also lay foundations for modifying Glu-1 expression.

Selforthogonal modules with finite injective dimension

The category consisting of finitely generated modules which are left orthogonal with a cotilting bimodule is shown to be functorially finite. The notion of left orthogonal dimension is introduced , and then a necessary and sufficient condition of selforthogonal modules having finite injective dimension and a characterization of cotilting modules are given.

Separativity of modules with finite exchange property
