According to the few researches on Nearly zero energy residential buildings(NZERB)in hot-summer and cold-winter zone,although it could reduce the cooling load of buildings due to its high thermal insulation and air tightness,it still needed for certain cooling in *** paper studied indoor environment of NZERB un-der three kinds of air-conditioners(split-type air-conditioner,multi-line air-conditioner and ceiling radiant air-conditioner).Firstly,a simulation model of NZERB was established based on Nanjing,a typical city in hot-summer and cold-winter ***,variation of indoor air temperature and building load characteristics with outdoor air temperature were ***,indoor environment and energy consumption under three selected con-ventional air-conditioners in summer were ***,the discussion was given,and an air-conditioner combining with convective and radiant cooling were *** results indicated that the air-conditioner needed to be turned on in NZERB in hot-summer and cold-winter zone due to the room air temperature in off-air condition ranged from 32℃to 36℃,which was higher than designed indoor environment temperature in sum-mer,but the indoor environment of NZERB under three selected conventional air-conditioners could not meet the requirements of energy saving and comfort at the same time,and a proposed convective-radiant air-conditioner could be fast,stable,and energy *** findings can provide a reference for conducting active technology in NZERB.

Microcontroller is widely used in the intelligent life of modern society. Intelligent development based on Microcontroller to solve the actual needs of people’s life, work, study and other fields is the core of Microcontroller application. Therefore, it is a task for researchers to understand the structure and performance of microcontroller, develop software, and be familiar with the method and process of intelligent development based on microcontroller. And with that in mind, this paper designs and produces a physical hardware system for indoor environment detection based on STM32 microcontroller. The system can detect the light intensity, temperature and humidity, and CO gas concentration in the indoor environment;and the data is integrated and processed by the STM32 microcontroller to display the current parameter values of each quantity in the indoor environment on a 3.5-inch resistive screen;at the same time, the PC can also log in to the OneNET cloud platform through the web page, and display the light intensity, temperature and humidity, and CO gas concentration values in t

As the development of people’s living standard, more and more people pay attention to their living conditions, especially the quality of indoor environment, because the most people spend much time in indoor environment. However, with the improvement of life, indoor air pollution is impacting human health negatively. In this paper, through analysis of the sources, adverse health effects of several common indoor air pollutants, air pollutants are major contributing factors to chronic diseases and mortality. It should be treated urgently with the people’s standard of living improvement. Finally, it mentioned the countermeasures.

Rapid monitoring of indoor airborne influenza and coronavirus with high air flowrate electrostatic sampling and PCR analysis

The World Health Organization has raised concerns about the possibility of airborne transmission in enclosed and poorly ventilated ***,rapid monitoring of airborne viruses is necessary in multi-use facilities with dense ***,an electrostatic air sampler(250 L/min)was developed in this work to obtain indoor viral aerosol samples for analysis via the Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR).Aerosol tests with H1N1 and HCoV-229E were performed to evaluate the sample collection *** analysis,along with another aerosol test,was conducted to evaluate the recovery of the virus particles collected by the *** laboratory tests,our electrostatic sampler obtained viral samples that were detectable by PCR under the simulated viral pandemic scenario(3000 RNA copies per cubic meter of air)within 40 *** resulting cycle threshold(C)values were 35.07 and 37.1 for H1N1 and HCoV-229E,*** the performance evaluation in the laboratory,field tests were conducted in a university classroom from October 28 to December 2,*** A and HCoV-229E were detected in two air samples,and the corresponding C,values were 35.3 and *** PCR results are similar to those obtained from laboratory tests,considering the simulatedviralpandemic scenario.

Comparison of the hygrothermal performance of two light-framed timber structure buildings under different operation modes

Light-framed timber structure(LTS)buildings have been highly valued in recent years due to their low-carbon ***,the applicability of the building envelope is closely related to indoor and outdoor *** hot summer and cold winter(HSCW)climate zone in China has high humidity and great temperature variation throughout the year,resulting in distinct outdoor environments in different *** indoor environment is greatly affected by energy-consumption patterns and window-opening habits,which largely depend upon the regulation operations of *** these interrelated factors lead to extremely complex boundary conditions on each side of the building *** the structures of LTS buildings are applicable in this climate zone,therefore,needs to be carefully *** this study,two LTS buildings with different envelopes were established in Haining,China,situated in the HSCW climate zone,and selected as the study *** operation modes were adopted to create a variety of indoor *** each condition,the processes of heat and moisture transfer within the building envelopes and the indoor environment were monitored and *** comparison indicated that the building envelope with high moisture storage and insulation ability maintained a relatively stable indoor environment,especially when the environment changed ***,if the outdoor environment was equable(e.g.,relative humidity within the range of 30%–60%)or intermittent energy consumption modes were adopted,the building envelope with a low thermal inertia index and weak moisture-buffering ability performed better because it enabled a faster response of the indoor environment to air ***,a high risk of moisture accumulation between the thermal insulation layer and other materials with a large water vapour transfer resistance factor was also identified,suggesting a higher requirement for the vapour insulation of the env

Specific Enthalpy Based Heat Stress Index for indoor environments without Radiation Effect

Over 100 human thermal indices have been developed to predict the combined thermal impact on the *** principle,these indices based on energy thermal budget equations should not only be the most complex but also be the most ***,the simple indices based on algebraic or statistical models[e.g.,the wet-bulb globe temperature(WBGT)]continue to be the most popular.A new heat stress index,the enthalpy dry-bulb temperature(EnD)for indoor environments is developed and validated in this *** EnD index is unique in that it uses the air specific enthalpy,not the wet-bulb temperature,to measure the latent heat transfer from the skin to the surrounding ***,the EnD index can be treated as the equivalent temperature based on the convective heat transfer coefficient h_(c).Comparison is made between the EnD index and the widely used WBGT index based on the experimental data taken from three independent studies available in the scientific *** results show that the EnD index can reduce the overestimation of the dry-bulb air temperature and thus reduce heat stress in most cases,especially for hot and humid *** can be concluded that the EnD index has the potential to replace the WBGT index as the standard heat stress index in the future.

Ensemble machine learning framework for daylight modelling of various building layouts

The application of machine learning(ML)modelling in daylight prediction has been a promising approach for reliable and effective visual comfort *** many advancements have been made,no standardized ML modelling framework exists in daylight *** this study,625 different building layouts were generated to model useful daylight illuminance(UDI).Two state-of-the-art ML algorithms,eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)and random forest(RF),were employed to analyze UDI in four categories:UDI-f(fell short),UDI-s(supplementary),UDI-a(autonomous),and UDI-e(exceeded).A feature(internal finish)was introduced to the framework to better reflect real-world *** results show that XGBoost models predict UDI with a maximum accuracy of R^(2)=*** to RF,the XGBoost ML models can significantly reduce prediction *** research directions have been specified to advance the proposed framework by introducing new features and exploring new ML architectures to standardize ML applications in daylight prediction.

The production and application of organophosphate esters(OPEs)have dramatically increased in recent years due to their use as a replacement for brominated flame *** this study,13 OPEs(∑_(13)OPEs)were analyzed in indoor air samples from kitchens and living rooms in 14 residential homes in Beijing,*** concentrations of ∑_(13)OPEs in kitchen air samples(mean:13 ng/m^(3))were significantly(pindoor air sample(56%).The estimated daily intakes(EDI)of OPEs via indoor air inhalation were 2.8 and 1.4 ng/kg/day for infants and adults,respectively,both of which are below the reference dose values(RfDs).Overall,these findings indicate that OPEs in the indoor air environment of residential homes in Beijing are not likely to pose a health risk to the general population.

Prior area searching for energy-based sound source localization

Traditional energy-based sound source localization methods have the problems of the large solution space and time-consuming calculation. Accordingly, this paper proposes to use the data collected by each acoustic sensor and their corresponding weights to adaptively initialize the prior area of a target. In this way, the potential existence range of the target is reduced and the location estimate can be determined in a small area. Specifically, we first determine the initial search point based on the current sound data and the set rules. Then, the prior location of the target is iteratively searched according to different sound energy circles’ weights. Next, the prior area of the target is determined around the prior location. Finally, the precise location of the target is further traversed to minimize the objective function, which is constructed by the weighted nonlinear least squares location(WNLS) algorithm. A series of indoor experiments are *** results show that our method can effectively improve the positioning accuracy by approximately 13%and greatly reduce the calculation time.
