Objective:To identity the variation of sand flies in the Gampaha and Kurunegala districts of Sri Lanka and to assess DNA barcoding as a complementing method for morphological ***:A total of 38441 sand flies were collected from selected localities in Gampaha and Kurunegala districts using standard entomological techniques from May 2017 to December *** were identified using morphological features and compared with mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase subunitⅠgene-based DNA barcoding as an alternative ***:Morphological and molecular identification confirmed the presence of four species under two genera(Phlebotomus and Sergentomyia).Phlebotomus argentipes was the predominant species,followed by Sergentomyia(S.)punjabensis,*** insularis,and an unidentified Sergentomyia *** argentipes showed a clear genetic differentiation from other *** insularis and *** showed a higher genetic affinity to each other than the unidentified *** unidentified Sergentomyia species is morphologically similar to ***,but differs only in clavate ***:DNA barcoding is an effective technique for the identification of sand *** studies using molecular techniques will improve the knowledge of the cryptic diversity of Sri Lankan sand fly *** a reliable and standardized identification system for sand fly species in Sri Lanka is recommended.

ABC-stacked trilayer graphene has exhibited a variety of correlated phenomena owing to its relatively flat bands and gate-tunable ***,convenient methods are still lacking for identifying ABC graphene with nanometer-scale *** we demonstrate that the scanning near-field optical microscope working in ambient conditions can provide quick recognition of ABC trilayer graphene with no ambiguity and excellent resolution(∼20 nm).The recognition is based on the difference in their near-field infrared(IR)responses between the ABA and ABC *** show that in most frequencies,the response of the ABC trilayer is weaker than the ABA ***,near the graphene phonon frequency(∼1585 cm−1),ABC’s response increases dramatically when gated and exhibits a narrow and sharp Fano-shape resonant line,whereas the ABA trilayer is largely ***,the IR contrast between ABC and ABA becomes reversed and can even be striking(ABC/ABA∼3)near the graphene phonon *** observed near-field IR features can serve as a golden rule to quickly distinguish ABA and ABC trilayers with no ambiguity,which could largely advance the exploration of correlation physics in ABC-stacked trilayer graphene.

The on-orbit parameter identification of a space structure can be used for the modification of a system dynamics model and controller coefficients. This study focuses on the estimation of a system state-space model for a two-link space manipulator in the procedure of capturing an unknown object, and a recursive tracking approach based on the recursive predictor-based subspace identification(RPBSID) algorithm is proposed to identify the manipulator payload mass parameter. Structural rigid motion and elastic vibration are separated, and the dynamics model of the space manipulator is linearized at an arbitrary working point(i.e., a certain manipulator configuration).The state-space model is determined by using the RPBSID algorithm and matrix transformation. In addition, utilizing the identified system state-space model, the manipulator payload mass parameter is estimated by extracting the corresponding block matrix. In numerical simulations, the presented parameter identification method is implemented and compared with the classical algebraic algorithm and the recursive least squares method for different payload masses and manipulator configurations. Numerical results illustrate that the system state-space model and payload mass parameter of the two-link flexible space manipulator are effectively identified by the recursive subspace tracking method.

In this paper,we propose a novel study for gesture identification using surface electromyography(sEMG)signal,and the raw sEMG signal and the sEMG envelope signal are collected by the sensor at the same *** efficient method of gesture identification based on the combination of two signals using supervised learning and univariate feature selection is *** previous research techniques,researchers tend to use the raw sEMG signal and extract several constant features for classification,which inevitably causes a result of ignoring individual *** experiment shows that both the optimal feature set and redundant feature set are not same for different *** order to address this problem,we extract all the common features from two signals,up to 76 features,most of which has been established as the common EMG-based gesture *** addition,extracting too many features in an application can reduce operational efficiency,so we apply for feature selection to get the optimal feature set and decrease the number of extracting *** a result,the combination of two signals is better than using a single *** feature selection can be used to select optimal feature set from all features to achieve the best classification performance for each *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves the performance with the highest accuracy of 95%for identifying up to nine gestures only using two ***,we develop a real-time intelligent sEMG-driven bionic hand system by using the proposed method.

A novel approach to identify the crystal orientation of turbine blades with anisotropy materials is proposed. Based on enhanced mode basis, with the main advantages of its efficiency,accuracy and general applicability, the blade vibration mode of each order is linearly constructed by several specified mode shapes, which are obtained from the considered turbine blade with specified crystal orientations correspondingly. Then, a surrogate model based on Kriging method is introduced for constructing the condensed perturbed matrix of stiffness in order to improve the efficiency even further. The constructed surrogate model allows to perform the modal analysis of turbine blades with arbitrary crystal orientations in higher efficiency, due to the fact that the elements of condensed perturbed matrix of stiffness are considered in construction of the surrogate model rather than concerning the perturbation of all the elements of the initial stiffness matrix for the blade. Genetic algorithm is finally employed to optimize the defined fitness functions in order to identify the crystal orientation angles of turbine blades. Several corresponding examples demonstrated the accuracy, efficiency and general applicability of the proposed method.

identification of acetone and its two isomers, and the control of their ionization and dissociation processes are performed using a dual-mass-spectrometer scheme. The scheme employs two sets of time of flight mass spectrometers to simultaneously acquire the mass spectra of two different molecules under the irradiation of identically shaped femtosecond laser pulses. The optimal laser pulses are found using closed-loop learning method based on a genetic algorithm. Compared with the mass spectra of the two isomers that are obtained with the transform limited pulse, those obtained under the irradiation of the optimal laser pulse show large differences and the various reaction pathways of the two molecules are selectively controlled. The experimental results demonstrate that the scheme is quite effective and useful in studies of two molecules having common mass peaks, which makes a traditional single mass spectrometer unfeasible.
