Stark effect of the hyperfine structure of ICl in its rovibronic ground state:Towards further molecular cooling

hyperfine structures of IC1 in its vibronic ground state due to the nuclear spin and electric quadruple interactions are determined by diagonalizing the effective Hamiltonian matrix. Furthermore, the Stark sub-levels are precisely determined as well. The results are helpful for electro-static manipulation （trapping or further cooling） of cold IC1 molecules. For example, an electric field of 1000 V/cm can trap IC1 molecules less than 637μK in the lowest hyperfine level.

hyperfine structure spectra of singly ionized lanthanum and praseodymium have been measured by collinearfast-ion-beam laser spectroscopy. All the spectral lines were resolved and the magnetic dipole and electric quadruplecoupling constants of the metastable levels and excited levels were determined. Our results are in agreement withthe published data within the experimental uncertainty. For praseodymium ions, the accuracy of the magnetic dipolecoupling constants are improved by one order of magnitude compared with other published data, and the electricquadruple coupling constants are reported for the first time.

Istope shifts and hyperfine spectrum of singly ionized neodymium ion was measured by collinear fast-ion-beam laser spectroscopy. The hyperfine A constants and B constants are obtained for the (23230)o9/2 level and 4f45d6K9/2 level, respectively. The optical isotope shifts between seven isotopes in the 580.56 nm of 142-145;146;148;150hNd+ line are determined. The configuration admixtures for (23230)o9/2 level were quantitatively analysed to be 4f46p,4f35d2,and 4f35d6p with mixing coefficients of 67%, 5%,and 28%,respectively.

Variational calculations are carried out with a multiconfiguration-interaction wavefunction on the 1s22p2p 1De and 1s22p3p 3pe states to obtain the energies including the mass polarization and relativistic corrections for the beryllium isoelectronic sequence (Z=4-10). The oscillator strengths, transition rates and wavelengths are also calculated. Our results are compared with other theoretical and experimental data in the literatures. The fine structure and hyperfine structure of 1s22p3p 3pe state are also explored.

The fine and hyperfine structures of pionic helium metastable states is calculated within the formalism of the Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian by using the variationally generated wave functions in Hylleraas *** results not only verify the existing values of Hori et al.[***.A 89,042515(2014)]for the fine structure of π^(4)He^(+),but also determine the hyperfine structure of π^(3)He^(+).

A control and data acquisition system was implemented for the recently developed collinear laser spectroscopy *** system is dedicated to data recording,storage,processing,monitoring of the beam intensity and energy,and visualization of various *** comparison to the conventional resonance nuclear reaction system,the key technique is the precise synchronization of the detected counts with the actual scanning voltage(or probing laser frequency).The functions of the system were tested by measuring the hyperfine structure spectra of stable calcium(e.g.,^(40)Ca^(+))and radioactive potassium(e.g.,^(38)K)in the bunched and continuous modes,*** system will be routinely applied and further improved in subsequent laser spectroscopy experiments on unstable isotopes at the Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility(BRIF).

Characterization of Fe_3Si-based coatings on low silicon steel by pulsed Nd:YAG laser cladding

The Fe3Si based coating was produced on the Fe-1 Si steel surface by a pulsed Nd：YAG （yttrium aluminum garnet） laser. Its phase constitution and microstructure were characterized by using X-ray diffraction （XRD）, optical microscope （OM）, and field emission scanning electron microscope （FESEM） with associated energy dispersive spectroscopy （EDS） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The hyperfine structure of the coating was studied by Mrssbauer spectra （MS） and the magnetic property was also measured at room temperature by a vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM）. The obtained coating is pore and crack-free with dense microstructure and high Si content. The metallurgical bonding between the coating and the substrate was realized. The microstructure of the coating is typical fine dendrites. The major phase was confirmed by XRD and TEM to be the ordering D03 structured Fe3Si phase. In addition, there were smaller amounts of the Fe5Si3 phase and the γ-Fe phase in the coating. Compared with the substrate, the laser cladding coating has a lower saturation magnetization and a higher coercive force. The poor magnetic property might be because of rapid solidification microstructure and phase constitution in the coating.

We experimentally demonstrate the cesium electric quadrupole transition from the 6S1/2ground state to the 7D3/2,5/2excited state through a virtual level by using a single laser at 767 *** excited state energy level population is characterized by varying the laser power,the temperature of the vapor,and the polarization combinations of the laser *** optimized experimental parameters are obtained for a high resolution transition interval *** magnetic dipole coupling constant A and electric quadrupole coupling constant B for the 7D3/2,5/2states are precisely determined by using the hyperfine levels *** results,A=7.39 （0.06） MHz,B=-0.19 （0.18） MHz for the 7D3/2state,and A=-1.79 （0.05） MHz,B=1.05 （0.29） MHz for the 7D5/2state,are in good agreement with the previous reported *** work is beneficial for the determination of atomic structure information and parity non-conservation,which paves the way for the field of precision measurements and atomic physics.
