Knowledge, attitude, and practice of house officers towards COVID- 19: A multicentered crosssectional study in Egypt

Objectives:To assess the knowledge,attitude,and practice(KAP)towards COVID-19 and its associated factors among house ***:A multicentered crosssectional study on house officers was carried out using an online self-administered *** data and data related to KAP towards COVID-19 were ***,KAP level of the house offices was recorded and factors associated with good KAP were ***:This study included 555 house officers from 10 different hospitals with 128 males and 427 *** half of the house officers had good knowledge and a favorable attitude(46.1%and 51%,respectively)on ***,82.5%of them were committed to good practice of preventive ***,percentages of good knowledge and practice among those with chronic diseases or those who knew someone infected with SARS-CoV-2 were higher,but the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).In addition,the percentages of females with good practice were higher than those of males,with no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:house officers showed a good KAP towards *** aware of gaps in KAP can help to effectively contain the current pandemic.

A Missing Step: The Value of Psychological Mindedness Training during Psychiatry Residency

Psychiatry residents, who lack psychological mindedness, struggle to understand the multiple determinants of behavior, or the numerous meanings of a single symptom. This is unfortunate because most psychiatry resident interns feel that they are finally among the group where they belong… like-minded physicians who share a fascination with human nature and a desire to grasp all the nuances and complexities of human behavior. This paper provides a framework for psychiatry departments to train residents along a continuum of psychological mindedness. The authors explain the concept of psychological mindedness, explore the pros and cons of acquiring psychological mindedness, and a scientific basis for its use in general psychiatry. A new model is included to capture any resident’s ability to become psychologically minded, with direction for Program Director’s to possibly develop growth in a resident’s psychological mindedness over four years of training.
