A hybrid hydrogel based on clay nanoplatelets and host–guest inclusion complexes

In this work,a monomer with double bond was introduced to the surface of clay nanosheets via inclusion complexation between cyclodextrin（CD）host and azobenzene（Azo）guest,as well as electrostatic interaction between clay nanoplatelets and cations of azobenzene *** obtained suprastructure acts as a supramolecular cross-linker in its copolymerization with macromonomer PEG resulting in a hybrid supramolecular *** viscous liquid was obtained in the absence of clay nanoplatelets,revealing the supramolecular cross-linker played an important role in the hydrogel *** hybrid supramolecular hydrogel exhibited good stability and shear thinning property.

Over the last decade,numerous research efforts have been devoted to pillar[n]arenes since their *** popularity of pillararenes is a reflection of current research trend in supramolecular and macrocyclic chemistry in *** the vast applications(such as chemosensors,drug delivery,transmembrance channels,and separation)of pillararenes,their utilization in catalysis is a relatively less explored ***,soaring attention has been paid by researchers in recent years and this field has seen gradual increasing ***,in this review we will discuss progress in the emerging applications of pillararene architectures in catalysis based on various reaction genre including reduction,oxidation,coupling,decomposition and ***,this review not only focuses on the pillararenes based current progress in catalysis,but also provides the signs for future development in this research field.

Enantioselective Recognition of Neutral Molecules in Water by a Pair of Chiral Biomimetic Macrocyclic Receptors

Enantioselective recognition in water remains an ongoing challenge in supramolecular chemistry but is routine in ***,we report the first enantiopure pair of biomimetic macrocyclic receptors with hydrogen bonding donors in their deep hydrophobic *** chiral naphthotubes can be efficiently synthesized through a chirality-directed macrocyclization strategy and are able to discriminate the enantiomers of neutral chiral molecules in *** functional theory calculations reveal that the“three-point contact”model effectively explains their *** differential noncovalent interactions inside the hydrophobic cavity are responsible for the enantioselective ***,these chiral naphthotubes are both fluorescent and circular dichroism(CD)-*** CD spectroscopy,they have been demonstrated to have the ability to detect nonchromophoric,achiral molecules in ***,the use of fluorescence spectroscopy has aided in the determination of the enantiomeric excess(ee)values of chiral *** results and conclusions obtained with these chiral biomimetic receptors can be used to better understand enantioselective recognition in biological systems.
