Numerical and experimental study of wave shaper effects on detonation wave Front

In the current study, streak camera was used to find concentricity of the assembly during detonation,investigate and compare shock Front within the high explosive and behavior of the shock Front on the surface of the liner, one containing wave shaper and the other without wave shaper. Streaks revealed that the whole assembly was concentric till the formation of the jet. Observed streaks vindicate the uniform propagation of shock Front in both the cases. Results obtained for shock Front velocities are in agreement with those obtained from simulations. In the presence of wave shaper higher shock Front velocity was observed both in simulation and experiment. Simulation without wave-shaper showed that shock Front struck the copper cone at grazing angle while in the presence of wave-shaper it struck at an angle of 125.

经典Front Tracking方法采用示踪点的连线表示界面,以示踪点运动表现界面运动,具有精度高等特点,但在处理复杂界面拓扑结构变化时容易产生拓扑混乱导致计算无法继续进行。为此,对经典Front Tracking方法进行了改进,提出了一种新的数据结构处理方法,以由示踪点连线所组成线段的运动表现界面的运动过程,能够较好地避免拓扑混乱情况,并且继承了经典方法的优点。对改进的Front Tracking方法进行了程序编写,采用两个算例对新方法的可靠性加以验证,得到了较好的结果。

The approaches to discrete approximation of Pareto Front using multi-objective evolutionary algorithms have the problems of heavy computation burden, long running time and missing Pareto optimal points. In order to overcome these problems, an approach to continuous approximation of Pareto Front using geometric support vector regression is presented. The regression model of the small size approximate discrete Pareto Front is constructed by geometric support vector regression modeling and is described as the approximate continuous Pareto Front. In the process of geometric support vector regression modeling, considering the distribution characteristic of Pareto optimal points, the separable augmented training sample sets are constructed by shifting original training sample points along multiple coordinated axes. Besides, an interactive decision-making(DM)procedure, in which the continuous approximation of Pareto Front and decision-making is performed interactively, is designed for improving the accuracy of the preferred Pareto optimal point. The correctness of the continuous approximation of Pareto Front is demonstrated with a typical multi-objective optimization problem. In addition,combined with the interactive decision-making procedure, the continuous approximation of Pareto Front is applied in the multi-objective optimization for an industrial fed-batch yeast fermentation process. The experimental results show that the generated approximate continuous Pareto Front has good accuracy and completeness. Compared with the multi-objective evolutionary algorithm with large size population, a more accurate preferred Pareto optimal point can be obtained from the approximate continuous Pareto Front with less computation and shorter running time. The operation strategy corresponding to the final preferred Pareto optimal point generated by the interactive DM procedure can improve the production indexes of the fermentation process effectively.

This paper presents a unified theory to deal with when, why and how a sharp acidization dissolution Front(ADF), which is represented by the porosity distribution curve, can take place in an acidization dissolution system composed of fluid-saturated porous rocks. The theory contains the following main points:(1) A reaction rate of infinity alone can lead to a sharp ADF of the Stefan-type in the acidization dissolution system. This sharp Front is unstable when permeability in the downstream region is smaller than that in the upstream region.(2) For a finite reaction rate, when the acid dissolution capacity number approaches zero,the ADF can have a sharp profile of the Stefan-type either on a much smaller time scale or on a much larger time scale than the dissolution time scale. In the former case, the ADF may become unstable on a much larger time scale than the transport time scale, while in the latter case, it may become unstable if the growth rate of a small perturbation is greater than zero.(3) On the dissolution time scale, even if both the reaction rate is finite and the acid dissolution capacity number approaches zero, the profile of an ADF may not be sharp because it is in a transient state. In this case, not only can an ADF change its profile with time, but also its morphology can grow if the growth rate of a small perturbation is greater than zero. Due to the involvement of both the change rate and the growth rate of the ADF profile, it is necessary to conduct a transient linear stability analysis for determining whether or not a time-dependent ADF is stable in the acidization dissolution system.

This study focuses on establishing nonconforming crack Front elements of quadrilateral and triangular types for 3D crack problems when the dual boundary element method is applied. The asymptotic behavior of the physical variables in the area near the crack Front is fully considered in the construction of the shape function. In the developed quadrilateral and triangular crack Front elements, the asymptotic term, which captures the asymptotic behavior of the physical variable, is multiplied directly by the conventional Lagrange shape function to form a new crack Front shape function. Several benchmark numerical examples that consider pennyshaped cracks and straight-edge crack problems are presented to illustrate the validity and efficiency of the developed crack Front elements.

Three seabed-mounted TD/CTD chains and two upward-looking acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) in the southwest of Zhangzi Island are used and a simultaneous cruise observation in the northern North Yellow Sea (NYS) is conducted to study temperature variation in the bottom thermal Front zone of the NYS Cold Water Mass (NYSCWM) during the summer of 2009. In the flood-ebb tidal cycles, the bottom temperature decreases (increases) during flood (ebb) tides, which are dominated by the tidal-current induced horizontal advection. The ebb tide-induced temperature increase is larger than the flood tide-induced tempera- ture decrease due to seasonal warming. In the spring-neap tidal cycles, the temperature and the vertical temperature structure show notable fortnightly variation from 16 July to 25 August. The bottom temperature increases from neap to spring tides and decreases from spring to neap. The Richardson number demonstrates strengthened vertical mixing during spring tides but enhanced stratifica- tion during neap tides. The spring-neap variation in vertical shear caused by tidal current is the dominant factor that induces the fort- nightly variation in vertical mixing and thus bottom temperature.
