The First Case of Free Radial Forearm Skin Flap:A 40-Year follow-up study

P300 change and cognitive behavioral therapy in subjects with Internet addiction disorder A 3-month follow-up study

Event-related potential studies of cognitive function in addiction behaviors have focused on the P300 event-related potential component. The current study investigated the association between P300 component and Internet addiction disorder. We found that individuals with Internet addiction disorder exhibited significantly longer P300 latencies than controls （N2： P = 0.035; P3a： P = 0.031 P3b： P = 0.043） and similar P300 amplitudes compared to control participants. After 3 months of cognitive behavioral therapy, P300 latencies decreased significantly in the P3a and P3b （P3a： P = 0.045; P3b： P = 0.062）. These results suggest that deficits in cognitive function may be involved in Internet addiction disorder, and that clinical psychological treatment may be effective.

A follow-up study on contestants in the International Science and Engineering Fair from the Chinese mainland

Science competitions are an important part of science education. Research on students participating in science competitions is helpful for strengthening the role of the competitions in selecting and cultivating science and technology talent. The International Science and Engineering Fair(ISEF) is the world's largest pre-college science competition. This paper is a follow-up study of 70 contestants in the ISEF from the Chinese mainland(2003 to 2013).My research team emailed each of them a questionnaire to collect information on their subsequent learning and careers. The results reveal that most contestants were male; they were good at engineering, computer science and environmental science; they performed well in subsequent academic learning(70% of them won awards during their academic study, and 85% selected a major study field related to science, technology, engineering or mathematics);and the high school years is the best period in which to encourage students to pursue sciencerelated study and careers. Based on my analysis, I offer some suggestions for cultivating young scientists.

Dopamine receptor D2 polymorphism is associated with alleviation of obesity after 8-year follow-up: a retrospective cohort study in obese Chinese children and adolescents

Objective： The aim of this study was to explore the association of dopamine receptor D2 （DRD2） polymorphism and alleviation of obesity in children and adolescents after 8-year follow-up. Methods： This retrospective cohort study included obese children and adolescents with a follow-up period of 8 years. Baseline clinical character- istics and DRD2 polymorphisms （including rs1076562, rs2075654, and rs4586205） were extracted from medical records. A follow-up visit was performed in May 2017 to collect related data including height, weight, diet compliance, and exercise compliance. Results： One hundred and nine obese children and adolescents were included in the current study. Among three DRD2 single nucleotide polymorphisms, only rs2075654 had a statistically significant association with alleviation of obesity, as the alleviation rate for minor allele carders （68.6% for TC＋TT） was higher compared to the major allele homozygote （43.3% for CC）. After adjusting for all related factors, the hazard ratio of rs2075654 minor allele carders for the alleviation of obesity was 3.34 （95% confidence interval （CI）： 1.30-8.58）. Conclusions： The rs2075654 ~olvmomhism of DRD2 is related to Ionq-term obesity alleviation in obese Chinese children and adolescents.

Long-term prognosis and prognostic determinants of patients with first attack of mild and moderate ischemia at Beijing community hospitals

A total of 710 patients with first-ever ischemic stroke were consecutively recruited between January 2003 and December 2004 from five community hospitals/stations in five districts of Beijing, China. As of December 31, 2008, a total of 2 477 person-years were followed-up. During the five-year follow-ups, 117 adverse events occurred, including all-cause death and acute cardiovascular events （recurrent stroke, acute myocardial infarction, and sudden death）. The five-year cumulative mortality rate was 2.18/100 person-years （54 cases）, with 3.88/100 person-years （96 cases） of acute cardiovascular events and 3.02/100 person-years （75 cases） of recurrent stroke. Multiple factor analyses using the Cox proportional hazards ratio models showed that age, diabetes, and dependence of activities of daily living were independent predictors for death, acute cardiovascular disease events, or recurrent stroke. The results demonstrated that recurrent stroke was a major vascular disease that affected the prognosis of mild or moderate stroke patients. Secondary prevention of stroke patients should include active management of vascular risk factors and rehabilitation.

BACKGROUND Myocarditis refers to a variety of myocardial inflammatory lesions. A variety of factors such as infection and physical and chemical factors can cause *** on the severity of myocardial damage, myocarditis patients can manifest heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and even sudden death. Here we present a case of viral myocarditis that mimicked acute coronary *** SUMMARY A middle-aged male patient presented with chest pain and elevated troponin I after a flu-like infection. This patient had a history of hypertension and a habit of alcohol and tobacco use. Electrocardiography showed typical changes in acute myocardial infarction, with the T-wave increasing. Coronary angiogram revealed no stenosis. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed edema of the middle and apical septal and apical anterior walls on T2-weighted images and the T1 mapping. Late gadolinium enhancement of the middle and apical septal and apical anterior walls could be found. Rubella virus immunoglobulin G and immunoglobulin M antibodies were abnormally elevated. The patient was given antiviral and antibiotic treatments, and serum biomarkers and electrocardiograph returned to normal after 5 d of treatment. After one-year follow-up, the patient showed no symptoms, and cardiac magnetic resonance showed that myocardial thickness was significantly thinner than before, and fibrosis was less than *** case illustrates the utility of cardiac magnetic resonance for diagnosis of infarction-like myocarditis when the angiogram is normal.

Physical activity,fitness and all-cause mortality:An 18-year follow-up among old people

Background：Little is known about change in physical activity（PA） and its relationship to all-cause mortality among old *** is even less information about the association between PA,fitness and all-cause mortality among people aged 80 years and *** objective is to investigate persistence and change in PA over 5 years as a predictor of all-cause mortality,and fitnes as a mediator of this association,among people aged 80 and 85 years at the beginning of an 18-year mortality follow-up ***：Using Evergreen Project data（started in 1989）,4 study groups were formed according to self-reported changes in PA level,over a 5-year period（starting in 1989–1990 and ending in 1994–1995）：remained active（RA,control group）,changed to inactive（CI）,remained inactive（RI）,and changed to active（CA）.Mortality was followed up over the 18-year period（1994–2012）.Cox models with different covariates such as age,sex,use of alcohol,smoking,chronic diseases,and a 10 m walking test were used to analyze the association between change in PA level and ***：Compared to RA,those who decreased their PA level（CI） between baseline and follow-up had higher all-cause mortality（hazard ratio（HR=2.09;95%CI：1.63–2.69） when adjusted for age,gender,and chronic *** showed the highest all-cause mortality（HR = 2.16;95%CI：1.59–2.93）.In CA,when compared against RA,the risk of all-cause mortality was not statistically significan（HR=1.51;95%CI：0.95–2.38）.In comparison with RA,when walking speed over 10 m was added as a covariate,all-cause mortality risk was almost statistically significan only in CI（HR=1.37;95%CI：1.00–1.87）.Conclusion：Persistence and change in PA level was associated with *** association was largely explained by fitnes *** controlled studies are needed to test whether maintaining or increasing PA level could lengthen the life of old people.
