Multivariate statistical process control methods have been widely used in biochemical industries. Batch process is usually monitored by the method of multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA). In this article, a new batch process monitoring and fault diagnosis method based on feature extract in fisher subspace is proposed. The feature vector and the feature direction are extracted by projecting the high-dimension process data onto the low-dimension fisher space. The similarity of feature vector between the current and the reference batch is calcu- lated for on-line process monitoring and the contribution plot of weights in feature direction is calculated for fault diagnosis. The approach overcomes the need for estimating or filling in the unknown portion of the process vari- ables trajectories from the current time to the end of the batch. Simulation results on the benchmark model of peni- cillin fermentation process can demonstrate that in comparison to the MPCA method, the proposed method is more accurate and efficient for process monitoring and fault diagnosis.

Since there are not enough fault data in historical data sets, it is very difficult to diagnose faults for batch processes. In addition, a complete batch trajectory can be obtained till the end of its operation. In order to overcome the need for estimated or filled up future unmeasured values in the online fault diagnosis, sufficiently utilize the finite information of faults, and enhance the diagnostic performance, an improved multi-model fisher discriminant analysis is represented. The trait of the proposed method is that the training data sets are made of the current measured information and the past major discriminant information, and not only the current information or the whole batch data. An industrial typical multi-stage streptomycin fermentation process is used to test the performance of fault diagnosis of the proposed method.

In scenarios of quantum metrology, the unitary parametrization process often depends on space directions. How to characterize the sensitivity of parameter estimation to space directions is a natural question. We propose the concept of the quantum fisher information(QFI) width, which is the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the QFI, to quantitatively study the sensitivity. We find that Fock states, the bosonic coherent states, and the displaced Fock states all have zero widths, indicating that QFI is completely inert over all directions, while the width for the spin state with all spins down or up is equal to the number of particles, so this concept will enable us to choose appropriate directions to make unitary transformation to obtain larger *** QFI width of the displaced quantum states is found to be independent of the magnitude of the displacement for both spin and bosonic systems. We also find some relations between the QFI width and squeezing parameters.

Nonclassicality is an essential but still open question in quantum mechanics. Here, utilizing the maximum value of quantum fisher information, we suggest a new version of the nonclassical criterion for SU(2) generator realized by two bosonic modes. As an application of the criterion, the system of two coupled nonlinear nanomechanical resonators is considered. And the nonclassicality of the phonon state in the dynamical evolution is explored. The system has a dynamical phase transition from the tunnelling phase to the self-trapping phase by tuning the coupling strength. It is found that for the tunnelling phase, the phonon state is nonclassical in the full time evolution. And for the self-trapping phase, the evolved phonon state is still nonclassical in the full time with a relatively large coupling strength, while it is nonclassical i n the most of time (but not all) with a small coupling strength. Quantum coherence has distinct different behaviors in the two phases.

We first recall some basic facts from the theory of discrete-time Markov chains arising from two types neutral and non-neutral evolution models of population genetics with constant size. We then define and analyze a version of such models whose fluctuating total population size is conserved on average only. In our model, the population of interest is seen as being embedded in a frame process which is a critical Galton–Watson process. In this context, we address problems such as extinction, fixation, size of the population at fixation and survival probability to a bottleneck effect of the environment.

Quantum fisher information(QFI) gap characterizes the stability of QFI to space directions. We study the QFI distributions and QFI gap for quantum states generated from nonlinear Hamiltonians for both spin and bosonic systems. We find that the same spin-squeezing parameter(or principle squeezing parameter) corresponds to two different values QFI gap, and the locations of all extreme points of the QFI are explicitly given.

Objective:To evaluate the potential toxic effects of mine tailings exposure among the fisher folks residing near and far from the Calancan Bay,Marinduque,using the micronucleus assay as an ***:The fisher folks residing near and far from the Calancan Bay were interviewed and the presence and frequency of cells with micronucleus in exfoliated buccal epithelial cells were ***:Results showed that the prevalence of cells with micronucleus was higher among the fisher folks who were directly exposed to the mine tailings as compared with those fisher folks who reside in a community without exposure of mine tailings and history of mining(P<0.05).Conclusions:The presence and the significant difference in the cells with micronuclei observed near the Calancan Bay could possibly indicate a prolonged chemical stress caused by the toxic heavy metals in the mine tailings and the environment.
