embodiment describes the sense of one’s own body,encompassing dimensions of being,having,and using a *** breast reconstruction,embodiment can be understood as how effectively the reconstructed breast replaces the patient’s missing *** there has been increasing attention in recent decades on understanding and measuring embodiment in the prosthetic limb,there is limited literature applying embodiment to the context of breast *** posit that the literature on prosthetic embodiment can be applied to evolving discussions on breast reconstruction outcomes and patient *** breast reconstruction techniques continue to evolve,such as advances in nerve coaptation and reinnervation of the breasts,the concept of embodiment may help broaden the scope of how patient outcomes can be more holistically *** systematic review examines existing literature on embodiment after breast reconstruction,summarizes embodiment and its subcomponents,and discusses how embodiment can be a helpful framework for the future of breast reconstruction outcome measures.

Women's bodies,more so than men's,are often sites for exploitation,political propaganda,and the materialization of normative gender *** feminists have been concerned with problematizing ‘the body' as a gender-neutral,malleable object,of which Western philosophy has long taken the body for *** doing so,they have attempted to form ontologies and metaphysics that are a.)Not based in the Cartesian mind/body dualism and b.)Account for gender and sex as a cultural construction and not something inherent to the *** phenomenologist thinkers have posited embodiment as an *** scholars have positively questioned whether traditional Chinese thought could provide Western feminists with the ontologies and metaphysics they ***,does such a question romanticize the complexities of the role gender has played in Chinese history,culture,and politics? Given the long historical transcendence and impact of patriarchal systems of thought such as Confucianism,paired with the invisible and visible gaze of the male consumer in the market system of contemporary China,could Chinese thinking on gender benefit from Western feminists use of the concept of embodiment? "embodiment"是认知语言学非常重要的基本概念,它派生出"embodied mind"、"embodied cognition"、"embodied realism"、"embodied philosophy"等概念,该术语译名不当会直接影响对认知语言学理论的正确理解。该术语译名很多,有体现化、体认、体验、化身、寓身、涉身、具身、缘身性、体身化、成体化和肉身化等等,都是深思熟虑的结果,都有一定道理,但整体看都略感言已尽而意犹未止。这个术语译名的多样化源于它本身在众多不同学科中的应用,其中仅罗瑞就总结了其12种定义。本文集中讨论莱柯夫/约翰逊定义,从西方哲学史关于"精神/身体"的讨论说起,通过探讨亚里士多德、柏拉图、笛卡尔、尼采、罗兰.巴特、梅洛庞蒂和杜威等人的观点,将这个贯穿西方哲学史的讨论概括为有心无体—心体对立—身体复兴—体心合一的过程,通过详细介绍莱柯夫/约翰逊对"第一代认知科学"和"第二代认知科学"的区分,最后得出"embodiment"译名的具体建议。

Although food and affective pictures share similar emotional and motivational characteristics, the relationship between the neuronal responses to these stimuli is unclear. Particularly, it is not known whether perceiving and imagining food and affective stimuli elicit similar event-related potential （ERP） patterns. In this study, two ERP correlates, the early posterior negativity （EPN） and the late positive potential （LPP） for perceived and imagined emotional and food photographs were investigated. Thirteen healthy volunteers were exposed to a set of food photos, as well as unpleasant, pleasant, and neutral photos from the International Affective Picture System. In each trial, participants were first asked to view a photo （perception condition）, and then to create a visual mental image of it and to rate its vividness （imagery condition）. The results showed that during perception, brain regions corresponding to sensorimotor and parietal motivational （defensive and appetitive） systems were activated to different extents, producing a graded pattern of EPN and LPP responses specific to the photo content - more prominent for unpleasant than pleasant and food content. Also, an EPN signature occurred in both conditions for unpleasant content, suggesting that, compared to food or pleasant content, unpleasant content may be attended to more intensely during perception and may be represented more distinctly during imagery. Finally, compared to LLP activation during perception, as well as imagery and perception of all other content, LPP activation was significantly reduced during imagery of unpleasant photos, suggesting inhibition of unwanted memories. Results are framed within a neurocognitive working model of embodied emotions.

Built environments can induce contemplative states, but direct evidence for their impact on the brain is lacking. This exploratory work investigated brain correlates of internal states elicited by architecture designed for contemplative experience. Functional MRI and self-reports of 12 architects were assessed to study their responses to photographs of ordinary and contemplative architectures. Images of contemplative buildings：（1） induced attentive, receptive, and absorbing experiences and diminished internal dialogue; （2） involved decreased engagement of prefrontal cortex; and （3） activated the occipital lobe, precentra[ gyrus, and inferior parietal lobule. They suggest that viewing buildings designed for contemplation may evoke experiential and brain signatures that consistently differ from those induced by buildings that serve everyday functions. The depth of such externally induced states was inversely correlated with the engagement of the Default Mode Network. Our study points toward a novel avenue for investigating how contemplation can be cultivated in the human brain/mind.

In the context of Semiosic Translation,two elements are essential for a translation to emerge:the body–brain–context interface(extended mind)and the sign systems making up a translation *** this paper,I explain how a renewed view of the body as a Bayesian-heuristic Semiotic Prior helps to understand in a more holistic manner the motivations and agentive character of translation,defined herein as a phenomenological grasp of the *** to the present proposal is the idea that bodily self-stabilization(homeostasis)and brain-driven correction(allostasis)provide translator-agents with maps of action upon the world that are semiotic in *** this occurs thanks to information weighing(Bayesian)and cue-driven(heuristic)types of inference whereby exteroceptive(exogenous)and interoceptive(inner-body)signals converge to create a sense of bodily awareness responsible for the construction of the symbolic persona(the translator-agent).
