This research explores the impact of family-school collaboration on elementary school physical education homework completion. The study investigates the role of cooperation between families and schools in enhancing the completion rates of physical education homework among elementary school students. Data analysis reveals that a higher degree of collaboration is associated with increased homework completion rates. Furthermore, active family involvement and support significantly contribute to higher completion rates. The study also highlights the creation of a positive learning environment through collaboration, reducing student anxiety, and boosting self-esteem. Theoretical implications emphasize the enrichment of family education and cooperation theories, while practical implications suggest policy guidance and improvements in educational practices. The study underscores the importance of family-school collaboration in supporting students’ physical education and holistic development.

Purpose:This article develops a critique of contemporary understandings and practices related to well-being in *** proposes a fuller development of wholeness and purpose that supplements and goes beyond the new well-being ***/Approach/Methods:This article draws upon a document analysis of conceptual and policy frameworks related to *** builds its critique of well-being with reference to a qualitative study consisting of 222 interviews with educators in the Canadian province of Ontario with regard to their understandings of *** includes references to the research and development work in the U.S.,Germany,and ***:The inclusion of well-being in policy agendas is an important step forward in the field of educational change,but this indication of progress is in danger of being reified through simplistic understandings of life satisfaction and other frameworks that evade the complexity of human *** and purpose are concepts that include but also go beyond well-being that should be addressed by ***/Value:Most of the criticisms of the new well-being agenda in educational policies and research simply assume its status as a summum bonum for human *** essay acknowledges the importance of well-being but expands beyond it to define wholeness and purpose as an alternative set of constructs with their own independent integrity that should not simply be subsumed into current well-being agendas.

Purpose:educational approaches that advocate“well-being,”the“whole child,”“social and emotional learning,”“character,”and the like emphasize human development beyond the acquisition of knowledge and *** approaches vary widely in their views of human nature,their visions of a good life,and their prescriptions for educational *** article maps out heterogeneous contemporary approaches to“well-being”and related constructs,thereby allowing researchers,educators,and policymakers to understand the divergent assumptions made by the proliferating approaches to education that go beyond ***/Approach/Methods:This article presents results from a 2-year project,which included interviews with advocates of different approaches and review of key literature about eleven educational approaches to“well-being,”the“whole child,”“social and emotional learning,”“character,”and similar noncognitive ***:The article argues that any educational approach to“well-being”and related constructs must respond to four questions:whether humans are bundles of discrete competencies or integrated wholes,what the appropriate relation is between individuals and society,the relative importance of instrumental and intrinsic goals,and the importance of an overarching purpose for one’s *** analysis reviews how eleven contemporary approaches address these four ***/Value:Despite the global proliferation of divergent approaches to“well-being,”the“whole child,”“social and emotional learning,”“character,”and related constructs in education,there are no comprehensive frameworks for understanding the alternatives and their key *** article organizes the globally proliferating educational movements that promote“well-being,”making sense of a confusing set of *** also argue that any comprehensive approach to education that goes beyond academics must consider the four questions that we identify.

Purpose:As a borrowed concept,science,technology,engineering,and mathematics(STEM)education holds limited relevance in many country *** study investigates how school administrators in Turkey view STEM education from three dimensions:(a)their understanding of STEM education,(b)their experiences of STEM implementations,and(c)their perception of their roles in STEM ***/Approach/Methods:This phenomenological study analyzes the perceptions of school principals working in prominent high schools in ***:The findings indicate that there are gaps in STEM implementation at both the conceptual level and the school level,including epistemological issues,infrastructural gaps,mismatch with overall organizational culture,and knowledge and skill *** efforts to integrate STEM education into educational practices,significant deficiencies are making it an unrealistic practice in ***/Value:While the literature on STEM education is expanding,a few empirical studies focus on school management in relation to STEM ***,despite promising to transform science and mathematics teaching,STEM education appears to have limited relevance to science and mathematics teaching in Turkeyrendering it yet another example of concept and policy borrowing in education.

Purpose:Written from the prospective of a school of education dean,the article describes how deans worked with researchers and university system staff to develop multiple measures of teacher preparation program(TPP)***/Approach/Methods:As a key participant in the development of a multi-methods approach to evaluating(TPP)quality,the author frequently interacted with the university system oversight staff,the researchers tasked with measuring TPP quality,and the school of education *** article draws on his experience in collaborating with individuals in these three groups over an 8-year *** article also reviews the controversial history of hierarchical linear models as tools for evaluating ***:The author argues that over time and as a result of frequent conversations and discussions,the three groups collaborated in creating a data dashboard that provides TPP faculty with evidence that enables them to make data-informed improvements to their programs and satisfies policymakers’interest in informing the public of TPP ***/Value:Few,if any,articles have been published that describe a collaborative process for creating a data repository that can inform the continuous improvement of TPPs and address policymakers’concerns about teacher ***,researchers,and policymakers elsewhere may learn about how to develop a partnership focused on generating and using data in program improvement as well as the value of multiple measures in evaluating TPPs and informing policymakers.
