Introduction:To assess insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3(IGFBP-3)concentrations in children with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)and compare the results according to disease severity and ***-one children with OSAHS underwent polysomnography and were classified as having mild,moderate,or severe ***:All children underwent bilateral tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy or ***-1 and IGFBP-3 concentrations were assessed before surgery and 3 and 6 months after ***:Before surgery,IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 concentrations(μg/L and mg/L)were significantly higher(Pduration,apneahypopnea index(AHI),time spent in SpO2duration,but not severity,affects the concentrations of two important mediators of growth/development,IGF-1 and IGFBP-3,in children with OSAHS before and after surgery.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE A number of studies have demonstrated an association between sleep duration and all-cause *** are inconsistent however regarding sleep duration and cause specific *** study assessed the association between self-reported sleep duration and the risks of fatal coronary heart disease,sudden cardiac death,cancer-related death and all-cause *** A representative sample of men,42 to 61 years of age at baseline,all living in eastern Finland,were *** collected at baseline,occurring between 1984 and 1989,included self-reported sleep duration,tobacco abuse,resting blood pressure,alcohol consumption,body mass index,blood sugar history and blood levels of lipids,lipoproteins,creatinine,C-reactive protein and *** subjects were followed for all-cause coronary heart disease and cancer related deaths occurringby the year *** At baseline,the mean age of the participants was 51.7 years,with an average sleep duration of 9.1 *** a median of 25.9 years′ followup,of the 3,261 participants,802 deaths *** in the top quartile of sleep duration,with at least 10.2 hours of sleep per night(a median of 11.5 hours),had a significantly increased risk of allcause mortality(P<0.001),as compared to those who slept less than eight hours(HR 1.36).This increased risk was noted for coronary heart disease(HR 1.56),sudden cardiac death(HR 1.47)and cancer death(HR 1.39).In the fully adjusted analysis,which included known risk factors,the associations were attenuated,but *** This longitudinal study of middle-aged men found that sleeping more than 10 hours per night is associated with a significantly increased risk of all-cause mortality.

AIM:To investigate factors associated with breastfeeding duration(BD) in a sample of mothers living in ***:Four hundred and twenty-eight mothers(438 infants) were initially recruited in a tertiary University *** telephone interviews(1665in total) using a structured questionnaire(one for each infant) were conducted until the sixth postpartum *** regression analysis was used to assess factors influencing any ***:Any breastfeeding rates in the first,third,and sixth month of the infant's life reached 87.5%,57.0%and 38.75%,*** the multivariate analysis,maternal smoking in the lactation period[hazard-ratio(HR) = 4.20]and psychological status(HR = 1.72),and the introduction of a pacifier(HR =2.08),were inversely associated,while higher maternal education(HR_(university/college vs primary/high school) = 0.53,HR_(master's vs primary/high school) = 0.20),and being an immigrant(HR = 0.35) were positively associated with ***:Public health interventions should focus on campaigns against smoking during lactation,target women of lower educational status,and endorse the delayed introduction of pacifiers.

Global warming has become a topic of widespread attention. The climate change will affect the change of agricultural climate resource,thereby affecting the agricultural planting structure,the grain yield,etc. Based on the daily temperature of Zhangjiakou from 1960 to 2011,the temporal changes of ≥0 ℃ and ≥10 ℃ accumulated temperatures were analyzed by using the methods of linear trend estimation and M-K mutation test. The results indicated that(1) the annual average temperature showed an increasing trend with the linear warming rate of 0. 42 ℃ /10 a in the past 52 years. In 1982,the annual average temperature had abrupt change,especially after 1983,the warming trend increased significantly.(2) In the past 52 years,≥0 ℃ accumulated temperature showed an increasing trend with the warming rate of 89. 4 ℃ /10 a. Mutation point of ≥0 ℃ accumulated temperature appeared in 1983,and after 1985,≥0 ℃ accumulated temperature increased sharply. At the same time,the ≥10 ℃ accumulated temperature had abrupt change in 1983,especially from 1987 to 1995 and after 1986,the warming trend increased sharply.(3) The initial date of ≥0 ℃ presented significant advancing trend,and that of ≥10 ℃ had little change,while their terminal dates presented delaying trend,so the sustained days of ≥0 ℃ and ≥10 ℃ increased significantly.(4) In the past 52 years,the delay of the terminal dates of ≥0 ℃ and ≥10 ℃ was greater than the advancing of the initial dates,and ≥0 ℃ accumulated temperature had a greater increase than ≥10 ℃ accumulated temperature.

Changes in the Beginning Date and duration of the Four Seasons in Zhejiang Province

Based on data of daily average temperature from 62 national ground observation stations in Zhejiang Province during 1971-2015,the changing trends and spatial distribution of beginning date and duration of the four seasons in Zhejiang Province were analyzed by using the least square method,and significance test was conducted by using correlation coefficient. The results show that according to the changing characteristics of the four seasons in Zhejiang Province,autumn and winter began later,while spring and summer started earlier than before; the duration of summer lengthened,while the duration of winter shortened,and there were great changes in summer and winter but small changes in spring and autumn. Seen from the spatial distribution of beginning date and duration of the four seasons,the correlation in middle and northern Zhejiang was better than that in southern Zhejiang.

Analysis of Construction duration and Cost for Public Sector Civil Engineering Projects in Libya

Public construction project data were analyzed to develop models for the actual construction duration and actual cost. Based on 50 civil engineering projects in Libya from the database of the Great Man-Made River System 1992-2009, the models identified extension as a main factor that affecting both the actual duration and cost of a project, while considering the contract cost and contract duration as fixed for the project. The suitability of each model was confirmed by examining RMSE (root mean squared error), NSE (Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency), and MEF (modeling efficiency factor). The models were validated with data from 17 different projects. The validation of both models demonstrated that models are very practical and accurate. The models are very effective in capturing the uniqueness of Libyan construction industry practice.

Changing Features of Sunshine duration and Effects on Greenhouse Production in Shouguang City

Based on data of monthly sunshine duration in Shouguang City during 1961-2013,changing features of sunshine duration and effects on greenhouse production in Shouguang City were analyzed by using linear tendency method,M-K mutation test and Molet wavelet analysis. The results show that in Shouguang City,sunshine duration in a year and each season reduced obviously from 1961 to 2013,and sunshine duration in a year and autumn changed suddenly in the 1990s,while sunshine duration in winter and spring changed suddenly in the 1980s. There existed obvious periodic variations of sunshine duration in a year and various seasons from 1961 to 2013. The reduction of sunshine duration and the increase of cloudy days resulted in the decrease in the yield of crops in solar greenhouses,so some effective measures should be taken to enhance the light intensity and time in solar greenhouses to promote crop growth.

In this study the changes of tropical cyclone(TC)size from 2001 to 2021 are analyzed based on linear and quadratic curve fittings of the National Hurricane Center(NHC)/Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC)best track data,based on the radius of maximum wind(RMW)and the average radius of 34-kt wind(AR34),in three oceanic basins of the North Atlantic(NATL),the Western North Pacific(WPAC)and the Eastern North Pacific(EPAC).The computations are done separately for two categories of tropical cyclones:tropical storms(TS)and hurricanes(HT).Size changes of landfalling and non-landfalling TCs are also *** show that there is a great inter-basin variability among the changes in TC *** conclusions include:1)overall,the inner cores of TSs have become larger in all three basins,with the increasing tendencies being significant in the NATL and WAPC,while those of HTs mostly get smaller or remain similar;2)meanwhile,comparatively large inter-basin differences are observed for the TC outer core sizes,and the sizes of landfalling TCs;3)particularly,a significant decrease in landfalling HT outer core size is observed over the EPAC;4)in contrast,significant increases in landfalling TS inner core size are found over the NATL and *** presented analysis results could benefit future research about TC forecasts,storm surge studies,and the cyclone climate and its changes.
