A constraint Adaptive Multi-Tasking Differential Evolution Algorithm:Designed for Dispatch of Integrated Energy System in Coal Mine

The dispatch of integrated energy systems in coal mines(IES-CM)with mine-associated supplies is vital for efficient energy utilization and carbon emissions reduction.However,IES-CM dispatch is highly challenging due to its feature as multi-objective and strong multi-constraint.Existing constrained multi-objective evolutionary algorithms often fall into locally feasible domains with poorly distributed Pareto front,which greatly deteriorates dispatch performance.To tackle this problem,we transform the traditional dispatch model of IES-CM into two tasks:the main task with all constraints and the helper task with constraint adaptive.Then we propose a constraint adaptive multi-tasking differential evolution algorithm(CA-MTDE)to optimize these two tasks effectively.The helper task with constraint adaptive is developed to obtain infeasible solutions near the feasible domain.The purpose of this infeasible solution is to transfer guiding knowledge to help the main task move away from local search.Additionally,a dynamic dual-learning strategy using DE/current-to-rand/1 and DE/current-to-best/1 is developed to maintain task diversity and convergence.Finally,we comprehensively evaluate the performance of CA-MTDE by applying it to a coal mine in Shanxi Province,considering two IES-CM scenarios.Results demonstrate the feasibility of CA-MTDE and its ability to generate a Pareto front with exceptional convergence,diversity,and distribution.

Advancing computer-generated holographic display thanks to diffraction model-driven deep nets

Advancements are reported in computer-generated holography proofing RGB 4K display through a new strategy based on diffraction model-driven deep networks. In the new 4K-DMDNet, the network is not a “black box” anymore. Rather, the input-output relation must obey to the physics of wavefront propagation, which is embedded here as a constraint. Thus, a labelled dataset is not required, and the model shows superior generalization capabilities with respect to data-driven approaches. The method is promising for the new generation of RGB 4K holographic display, as well as augmented and virtual reality systems.

A GMM approach in coupling internal data and external summary information with heterogeneous data populations

Because of advances in data collection and storage,statistical analysis in modern scientific research and practice now has opportunities to utilize external information such as summary statistics from similar studies.A likelihood approach based on a parametric model assumption has been developed in the literature to utilize external summary information when the populations for external and main internal data are assumed to be the same.In this article,we instead consider the generalized estimation equation(GEE)approach for statistical inference,which is semiparametric or nonparametric,and show how to utilize external summary information even when internal and external data populations are not the same.Our approach is coupling the internal data and external summary information to form additional estimation equations and then applying the generalized method of moments(GMM).We show that the proposed GMM estimator is asymptotically normal and,under some conditions,is more efficient than the GEE estimator without using external summary information.Estimators of the asymptotic covariance matrix of the GMM estimators are also proposed.Simulation results are obtained to confirm our theory and quantify the improvements by utilizing external data.An example is also included for illustration.

Experimental demonstration of robust nanophotonic devices optimized by topological inverse design with energy constraint

In this paper,we present the experimental results for integrated photonic devices optimized with an energyconstrained inverse design method.When this constraint is applied,optimizations are directed to solutions that contain the optical field inside the waveguide core medium,leading to more robust designs with relatively larger minimum feature size.We optimize three components:a mode converter(MC),a 1310 nm/1550 nm wavelength duplexer,and a three-channel C-band wavelength demultiplexer for coarse wavelength division multiplexing(CWDM)application with 50 nm channel spacing.The energy constraint leads to nearly binarized structures without applying independent binarization stage.It also reduces the appearance of small features.In the MC,well-binarized design,improved insertion loss,and cross talk are obtained as a result.Furthermore,the proposed constraint improves the robustness to fabrication imperfections as shown in the duplexer design.With energy constraint optimization,the corresponding spectrum shifts for the duplexer under±10 nm dimensional variations are reduced from 105 nm to 55 nm and from 72 nm to 60 nm for the 1310 nm and 1550 nm channel,respectively.In the CWDM demultiplexer,robustness toward±10 nm fabrication error is improved by a factor of 2.The introduction of the energy constraint into topological optimization demonstrates computational gain with better-performing designs.

1Introduction Data are at the heart of intelligent rail systems in the high-speed transportation sector(Zhou et al.,2020;Ho et al.,2021;Hu et al.,2021;Chen et al.,2022).The core of modern intelligent railroad systems typically includes rail transportation and equipment monitoring models learned from large datasets,which are often optimized for specific data and workloads(Zhu et al.,2019;Tan et al.,2020).While these intelligent railroad systems have been widely adopted and successful,their reliability and proper function will change as the data used changes.If the data used(on which the system operates)deviates from the fundamental constraints of the initial data(on which the system is trained)then,in that case,the system performance degrades,and the results inferred by the system model become unreliable,so the system model must be retrained and redeployed to re-store reliable inference results(Sharma and Chandel,2013).The mechanism for assessing the trustworthiness of intelligent rail system inferences is of paramount importance,especially for rail systems performing safety-critical or high-impact operations.

constraint-Based Virtual Solid Modeling

constraint-based solid modeling is the kernel part of current CADsystems. It has been widely used in supporting detailed design and variational design. However, it cannot support early stage design and is not easy-to--use becauseit demands fully detailed input description of a design. To solve these problems,researchers attempt to incorporate virtual reality techniques into geometric modeling systems. This paper presents a novel approach for interactive constraint-basedsolid modeling in a virtual reality environment. The approach allows the designerto construct and edit a constraint-based solid model by direct 3D manipulations,and ensures the created solid model to be precise by recognizing and solving geometric constraints. To effectively support 3D manipulations and change propagation,a new constraint-based solid model is adopted. In the model, besides the normalconstituents of the typical constraint-based solid model, some new attributes likeshape control points, location pattern and explicit shape constraints of a primitiveare defined. Guided by the location pattern, our algorithms for recognizing andsolving location constraints are real-time.

Finite-time composite guidance law with input constraint and dynamics compensation

Guidance laws are proposed for a near space interceptor with on-off type thrust as output.The target-interceptor engagement kinematics is integrated with the first-order dynamics of thruster to design guidance laws.The bang-bang type guidance law with linear sliding mode is proposed to deal with thruster dynamics,and the sufficient condition for finite time convergence is rigorously proved based on the finite-time convergence theory.According to the sufficient condition,a sliding mode guidance law with hysteresis-band switching is introduced to reduce the switching frequency of thruster.Then two guidance laws are combined into a composite guidance law to improve the guidance performance.Simulation results show that the line-of-sight angular rate can converge to a neighborhood of the equilibrium point before the final time of the guidance process,and the composite guidance law has better performance than typical guidance laws.

Single color image super-resolution using sparse representation and color constraint

Color image super-resolution reconstruction based on the sparse representation model usually adopts the regularization norm(e.g.,L1 or L2).These methods have limited ability to keep image texture detail to some extent and are easy to cause the problem of blurring details and color artifacts in color reconstructed images.This paper presents a color super-resolution reconstruction method combining the L2/3 sparse regularization model with color channel constraints.The method converts the low-resolution color image from RGB to YCbCr.The L2/3 sparse regularization model is designed to reconstruct the brightness channel of the input low-resolution color image.Then the color channel-constraint method is adopted to remove artifacts of the reconstructed highresolution image.The method not only ensures the reconstruction quality of the color image details,but also improves the removal ability of color artifacts.The experimental results on natural images validate that our method has improved both subjective and objective evaluation.
