Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy （^1 H-MRS） permits the assessment of cerebral neurometabolites, such as N-acetylaspartate, choline, and creatine, in vivo and has been used to study schizophrenia. The present study used ^1H-MRS to compare the spectroscopy change of N-acetylaspartate, creatine, and choline metabolite levels in the anterior cingulate and caudate nucleus of both schizophrenia patients and healthy controls, as well as between the left and right cerebral hemispheres in the schizophrenia patients. Results showed that N-acetylaspartate and creatine metabolite levels in the left anterior cingulate gyrus were significantly lower in the schizophrenia patients than in the healthy controls, indicating hypometabolism. In addition, choline concentration in the left caudate nucleus of schizophrenia patients was significantly lower than in the right caudate nucleus, indicating that it is necessary to study the cerebral lateralization of ^1H-MRS in schizophrenia patients.

＜正＞Objective To investigate the effect of caudate nucleus（Cd） on pain transmission and morphine dependence and the influence of cholecystokinin octapeptide（CCK-8） on pain,morphine dependence and withdrawal symptoms. Methods The electrophysiology,morphology and praxiology were used in the ***（1） In normal rats, CCK-8 resulted in increase in the net-increased value（NIV） of evoked discharge frequency,decrease in the average latency of the pain-excitatory neuron（PEN）,and prolonged inhibitory duration,reduced the NIV of the pain-inhibitory neuron（PIN）.L-365,260,antagonist of CCK-B receptor,antagonized the enhanced effects of PEN,the reduced effects of ***-8 played an excitatory role in the Cd pain transmission in normal rats.（2） Six days after administration of morphine continuously,spontaneous withdrawal symptoms increased obviously during withdrawal 24～72 h in morphinistic *** withdrawal 40h,spontaneous withdrawal symptoms increased much more obviously in morphinistic rats than in normal ones（P＜0.01）.（3） On withdrawal 24h of morphinistic rats,CCK-8 or L-365,260 was injected into the Cd after observed spontaneous withdrawal *** withdrawal 40h,Total score of withdrawal symptoms obviously increased in morphine+CCK-8 rats,and significantly decreased in morphine+L-365,260 rats respectively compared with morphinistic rats group（P＜0.01）.（4） In morphinistic rats,CCK-8 resulted in the increase in the NIV of evoked discharge frequency,the decrease in the average latency of PEN,and prolonged inhibitory duration,reduced the NTV of PIN（P＜0.05, P＜0.01）.L-365,260 antagonized the enhanced effects of PEN,the reduced effects of ***-8 played an excitatory role in the Cd pain transmission in morphinistic *** Exogenous CCK-8 could potentialize the responses of the pain-related neurons in Cd of normal and morphinism rats to the noxious stimulation,exhibiting the facilitated effect on *** effects of CCK-8 were mainly mediated by CCK-B recept

＜正＞Nitric oxide（NO） plays an important role in modulation of pain,cerebral ischemia,epilepsy,morphine tolerance and dependence in the central nervous *** novel peptide apelin is an endogenous ligand of putative receptor protein related to the angiotensin receptor AT1（APJ）.Sdudies showed that apelin could increase the production of NO in the central nervous system,in other word the physiological effect of apelin is associated with *** nucleus is one of the high-level centers engaged in pain *** have previously investigated the pain threshold of rats by means of radioimmunoassay and *** data suggest that NO in the caudate nucleus can transmit pain ***,the molecular mechanism of NO participating pain modulation and the relationship between NO and the expression of apelin receptor mRNA have not been *** investigate the mechanism of NO and its relationship to the expression of apelin receptor mRNA in the caudate nucleus of rat,L-arginine（L-Arg）,NG-nitro-Larginine methyl ester（L-NAME） and normal saline（NS） was separately microinjected into rat caudate ***-PCR technique was used to detect the expressions of neuronal NO synthase（nNOS） mRNA and apelin receptor mRNA at 4,8, 12,24 and 48 h after microinjection,and their correlation was *** expressions of the nNOS mRNA and the apelin receptor mRNA were both significantly increased after microinjection of L-Arg,but significantly decreased after microinjection of L-NAME compared with the NS control *** expressions of nNOS mRNA and apelin receptor mRNA had a positive correlation after microinjection of L-Arg and *** activity of NOS in the central nervous system,especially in the caudate nucleus,is one of the key factors for NO to exert many kinds of biological actions,such as modulation of central pain,as a *** neurobiological action of NO in rat caudate nucleus may be associated with apelin receptors.

＜正＞Objective To investigate the influences of caudate nucleus injection of different doses alpha-adrenoceptor agonist norepinephrine（NE） or antagonist phentolamine on the pain threshold of rat *** The tail-flick latency（TFL） of rat was recorded using the thermal pain *** measure the effects of the caudate nucleus injection of NE（2μg/2μl or 8μg/2μl）,phentolamine（1μg/2μl or 4μg/2μl） or normal saline（2μl） on *** The caudate nucleus injection of the higher dose of 8μg NE shortened the TFL,the higher dose of 4μg phentolamine lengthened the TFL（P＜0.01）.However,injection of the lower dose of 2μg NE into the caudate nucleus lengthened the TFL,the lower dose of 1μg phentolamine shortened the TFL（P＜0.01）.Conclusion Injection of alpha-adrenoceptors agonist 2μg NE into the caudate nucleus produced the antinociceptive effects on the responses to noxious thermal stimulation in tail-flick tests. However,injection of 8μg NE into the caudate nucleus caused hyperalgesic *** contrast,injection of alpha-adrenoceptors antagonist phentolamine 1μg into the caudate nucleus produced hyperalgesic actions on the responses to noxious thermal stimulation in tail-flick tests,4μg caused analgesic *** results indicate that the caudate nucleus of rat injection of different doses of NE or phentolamine have opposing effects,i.e.,exhibiting the analgesic effect or the hyperalgesic *** is revealed that the effects of different doses NE in the caudate nucleus of the rat on the pain threshold of tail-flick are involved in the different subtypes of alpha-adrenoceptors.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD) is a chronic and debilitating psychiatric disorder that affects ～2%–3% of the population globally. Studying spontaneous OCD-like behaviors in non-human primates may improve our understanding of the disorder. In large rhesus monkey colonies, we found 10 monkeys spontaneously exhibiting persistent sequential motor behaviors(SMBs) in individual-specific sequences that were repetitive, time-consuming and stable over prolonged periods. Genetic analysis revealed severely damaging mutations in genes associated with OCD risk in humans. Brain imaging showed that monkeys with SMBs had larger gray matter(GM) volumes in the left caudate nucleus and lower fractional anisotropy of the corpus callosum. The GM volume of the left caudate nucleus correlated positively with the daily duration of SMBs. Notably, exposure to a stressor(human presence) significantly increased SMBs. In addition, fluoxetine, a serotonergic medication commonly used for OCD, decreased SMBs in these monkeys. These findings provide a novel foundation for developing better understanding and treatment of OCD.

Objective To investigate the influence of dopamine （DA） and DA receptor＇s antagonist on the transmission of noxious information in the central nervous system of normal rats or morphinistic rats. Methods The influence of DA on the electric activity of the pain-excited neuron （PEN） in the caudate nucleus （Cd） of normal rats or morphinistic rats was recorded after the sciatic nerve was noxiously stimulated. Results DA shortened the average latency of the evoked discharge of PEN in the Cd of normal rats, indicating that DA could increase the activity of PEN and pain sensitivity in normal rats. This effect could be inhibited by Droperidol. DA increased the average latency of the evoked discharge of PEN in the Cd of morphinistic rats, indicating that DA could inhibit the activity of PEN and pain sensitivity in morphinistic rats. Conclusion The responses to painful stimulation were completely opposite between normal rats and morphinistic rats after the intracerebroventricular injection of DA.

　　The intracerebral transplantation and gene therapy may provide putative therapeutic approach to Parkinson′s disease. In the present study, implant of fetal mesencephalic dopamine neuron into I-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced hemiparkinsonian monkey model and in vivo and ex vivo tyrosine hydroxylase(TH) gene therapy for 6-hydroxydopamine(6-OHDA)-induced hemiparkinsonian rat model were investigated. The monkey model of hemiparkinsonism induced by unilateral administration of MPTP into the common carotid artery of three rhesus monkeys. The cell suspensions of substantia nigra obtained from human fetus of 11-12 weeks of gestation were injected stereotaxically into the caudate nucleus or substantia nigra of the lesioned side. The recipients were immunosuppressed by taking cyclosporine A for one month following the implant procedure. Apomorphine(APO)-induced motor asymmetry was significantly improved during the period of 18 weeks after graft. TH immunostaining assay demonstrated the surviving and sprouting of TH-immunoreactive cell bodies in the caudate nucleus for almost one year.　　……
