Objective c-reactive protein(cRP)/albumin ratio(cAR)is a new inflammation-based index for predicting the prognosis of various *** cAR determined on admission may help to predict the prognostic value of multiple trauma *** A total of 264 adult patients with severe multiple trauma were included for the present retrospective study,together with the collection of relevant clinical and laboratory ***,cRP,albumin,shock index and ISS were incorporated into the prognostic model,and the receiver operating characteristic(ROc)curve was ***,the shock index for patients with different levels of cAR was ***,univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify the independent risk factors for the 28-day mortality of multiple trauma *** A total of 36 patients had poor survival outcomes,and the mortality rate reached 13.6%.Furthermore,after analyzing the shock index for patients with different levels of cAR,it was revealed that the shock index was significantly higher when cAR was≥4,when compared to cARcARc analysis helped to identify the independent association between the variables cAR(P=0.029)and shock index(P=0.019),and the 28-day mortality of multiple trauma *** cAR is higher in patients with severe multiple ***,cAR serves as a risk factor for independently predicting the 28-day mortality of multiple trauma *** shock index was significantly higher when cAR was≥4 in multiple trauma patients.

Background:The screening of periprosthetic joint infection(PJI)in patients with inflammatory diseases before revision arthroplasty remains *** c-reactive protein(cRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),plasma fbrinogen(FIB),monocyte/lymphocyte ratio,and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR)can help screening PJI,but their values in patients with infammatory diseases have not been ***:Patients with inflammatory diseases who underwent revision hip or knee arthroplasty at West china Hospital,Sichuan University,from January 2008 to September 2020 were divided into infected and non-infected groups based on the 2013 International consensus Meeting *** and specificity of the tested biomarkers for diagnosing infection were determined based on receiver operating characteristic(ROc)curves,and optimal cutoffs were determined based on the Y ouden *** diagnostic ability of these biomarkers was re-assessed after combining them with each ***:A total of 62 patients with inflammatory diseases were studied;of them 30 were *** area under the ROc curve was 0.813 for cRP,0.638 for ESR,0.795 for FIB,and 0.656 for *** optimal predictive cutoff of cRP was 14.04 mg/L with a sensitivity of 86.2%and a specificity of 68.7%,while FIB had a sensitivity of 72.4%and a specificity of 81.2%with the optimal predictive cutoff of 4.04 g/*** combinations of cRP with FIB produced a sensitivity of 86.2%and specificity of 78.1%.conclusion:cRP with a slightly higher predictive cutoff and FIB are useful for screening PJI in patients with inflammatory diseases,and the combination of cRP and FIB may further improve the diagnostic values.

Background Ischemia/reperfusion injury （IRI） is an inflammatory response that occurs when tissue is reperfused following a prolonged period of ischemia. Several studies have indicated that c-reactive protein （cRP） might play an important role in inducing IRI. However, the effects of cRP on myocardial IRI and the underlying mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the association between cRP and myocardial IRI and the underlying mechanisms. Methods We simulated ischemia/reperfusion using oxygen-glucose deprivation/ reoxygenation （OGD/R） in neonatal Sprague-Dawley rat cardiomyocytes; reperfusion injury was induced by three hours of hypoxia with glucose and serum deprivation followed by one hour of reperfusion. cell viability was tested with MTS assays, and cardiomyocyte damage was evaluated by lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） leakage. Mitochondrial membrane potential was measured using tetramethylrhodamine ethyl ester （TMRE） and mitochondrial permeability transition pore （mPTP） opening was measured using calcein/AM; both TMRE and caocein/AM were visualized with laser scanning confocal microscopy. In addition, we studied the signaling pathways underlying cRP-mediated ischemia/reperfusion injury via Western blot analysis. Results compared with the simple OGD/R group, after intervention with 10 pg/mL cRP, cell viability decreased markedly （82.36 % ± 6.18% vs. 64.84% ± 4.06%, P = 0.0007）, and the LDH leakage significantly increased （145.3 U/L ± 16.06 U/L vs. 208.2 U/L ± 19.23 U/L, P = 0.0122）. cRP also activated mPTP opening and reduced mitochondrial membrane potential during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion. Pretreatment with 1 pM atorvastatin （Ator） before cRP intervention protected cardiomyocytes from IRI. Mitochondrial KATP channel opener diazoxide and mPTP inhibitor cyclosporin A also offset the effects of cRP in this process.
