A mild, efficient and high yielding protocol for the synthesis of 2,2＇-arylmethelene dicyclohexane- 1,3-dione derivatives at room temperature and 9-aryl-1,8-dihydrooctahydroxanthene at conventional heating using cesium fluoride as a catalyst is reported. The major advantages of this reaction are excellent yield, very short reaction time and use of inexpensive catalyst.

The Darzens condensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes with phenacyl chloride proceeded very efficiently in a water suspension medium in the presence of triethylbenzylammonium chloride and only trans 2,3 epoxy 1,3 diaryl 1 propanones were formed which can be isolated simply by filtration. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectra. Their configurations are in agreement with that of the same compounds reported in the literature. Compared to the classical Darzens condensation, this new method has the advantages of good yields, high stereoselectivity, low running cost inexpensive and environmentally benign procedure.

A protocol for the Knoevenagel condensation of aromatic aldehydes with methylene compounds catalyzed by task specifed ionic liquid 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-undec-7-en-8-ium lactate under solvent-free conditions has been developed. The reactions proceed at ambient temperature and the work-up procedures are very simple. Good to excellent yields could be obtained. The ionic liuid could be simply prepared and recycled efficiently.

The crystal structure of the title compound （C19H13BrOs） has been detemlined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of monoclinic, space group P21/c, with a = 10.508（4）, b = 11.354（4）, c = 14.522（5）A, β = 106.255（4）°, V = 1663.4（10）A3, Mr = 401.20, Z = 4, Do = 1.602 g/cm^3, λ = 0.71073A, F（000） = 808,μ= 2.498 mm^-1, R = 0.0337 and wR = 0.0837 for 2200 observed reflections （1 〉 2σ（Ⅰ））. X-ray analysis reveals that the dihedral angles between planes 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 1 and 4, 2 and 3, 2 and 4, and 3 and 4 are 78.6, 82.5, 87.4, 5.6, 9.5 and 4.9°, respectively. There exists a conjugated system in the molecular structure.

A practical method to stereospecifically synthesize trans-stilbenes was developed via the one-pot benzylation-dehydration reaction of aromatic aldehydes with benzyltrimethylsilane （BTMS）, which was driven by tetrabu- tylammonium fluoride （TBAF） in THF. At the same time a plausible description of the whole process was proposed and the effects of substituted groups on the reaction were investigated. Also this method was employed to synthesize three precursors of natural products with excellent yields, which demonstrated that this method is much efficient and practical in the synthesis of some natural products.

In this work we synthesized new derivatives from Phenyl Hydrazine and series of different aldehydes (derivatives of benzylidenes). The synthesized compounds contain different aromatic aldehydes which attached by Benzene ring via Hydrazine moiety in glacial acetic acid. These derivatives were characterized by TLC, melting points, Infrared Red, Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Carbon Thirteen Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Mass Spectroscopy. Finally, these synthesized derivatives were tested for antiproliferative activity against multiple normal and cancerous cell lines, HepG2 (Liver cancer) and MCF-7 (Breast cancer) cell lines were used for cytotoxic assay.

A simple one-pot synthetic method for the preparation of 2,4,5-triaryl-lH-imidazoles from benzoin or benzil, ammonium acetate, aromatic aldehydes, and ZrOCl2-8H2O catalyst is described. The ZrOCl2-8H2O catalyst was found to be equally effective for aromatic and heteroaromatic aldehydes and also for the preparation of substituted 1,4-di（4,5-diphenylimidazol-yl） benzene.

The reaction of dimedone with various aromatic aldehydes produces 2,2＇-arylmethylene bis （3-hydroxy-5,5-dimethyl-2- cyclohexene-l-one） in excellent yields. The reactions occur in water as solvent at room temperature and avoiding the addition of any catalyst. The workup procedure is very simple and the products do not required further purification.

A simple and efficient procedure for the preparation of silica-bonded propyl-diethylene-triamine-N-sulfamic acid （SPDTSA） by reaction of 3-diethylenetriamine-propylsilica （DTPS） and chlorosulfonic acid in chloroform is described. Silica-bonded propyl-diethylene-triamine-N-sulfamic acid is employed as a recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of 1,1-diacetates from aromatic aldehydes and acetic anhydride under mild and solvent-free conditions at room temperature. Catalyst could be recycled for several times without any additional treatment.
