Potential zoonotic pathogens may be transmitted from wildlife to humans through the illegal wild meat trade,which has become a pressing issue.However,research on the antimicrobial resistance genes(args)of Malayan pangolin(Manis javanica)intestinal bacteria is limited.Here,multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli M172-1(ST354)isolated from Malayan pangolin feces in 2019 was found to be resistant to 13 antibiotics.BGWAS analysis revealed 4 plas-mids,namely,pM172-1.1,pM172-1.2,pM172-1.3,and pM172-1.4,in the isolate.The pM172-1.2,pM172-1.3,and pM172-1.4 plasmids carried args,namely,IncHI2-HI2A,IncX1-X1,and IncX1,respectively.pM172-1.3 and pM172-1.4 contained intact IntI1 integrons(Is26/IntI1/arr2/cmlA5/blaOXA-10/ant(3′′)-IIA/dfrA14/Is26).No-tably,pM172-1.3 resulted from the fusion of 2 pM172-1.4 copies and carried many more args.In addition to pM172-1.3 from the same host,other drug-resistant bacteria(E.coli M159-1(ST48),E.coli S171-1(ST206),and Klebsiella pneumoniae S174-1(ST2354))in the same Malayan pangolin fecal samples also carried 3 plasmids with 100%gene coverage of pM172-1.4 and 99.98%identity.Therefore,args in IncX1 might spread in the intestinalﬂora of Malayan pangolin and between species via the illegal food chain,posing a potential threat to public health and safety.

Distribution characteristics and controlling factors of typical antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes in river networks in western area of Wangyu River,China

Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes(args)pose health risks in aquatic environments because of their persistence and mobility.River networks can provide a perfect opportunity for exploring the occurrence and enrichment of args and antibiotics in freshwater environments.On this basis,the abundances of four types of antibiotics(sulfonamides,quinolones,tetracyclines,and macrolides)and 13 args(sulⅠ,sulⅡ,tetA,tetB,tetO,tetW,qnrA,qnrS,qnrD,ermB,ermF,ermC,and ere A)were measured in the river networks of the west bank of the Wangyu River in China.The spatial distribution and temporal variation of these antibiotics and args were characterized,and their controlling factors were analyzed.All four types of antibiotics were detected with high frequencies between 41%and 100%.Quinolone antibiotics exhibited the highest average concentration(286.53 ng/L).The concentrations of quinolones,tetracyclines,and macrolides were significantly higher in the winter than in the summer,whereas the concentration of sulfonamides was higher in wet periods than in dry periods.Of the 13 args,sulⅠwas the most abundant(1.28 x 10^(5)copies per milliliter),followed by sulⅡand tetO(5.41×10^(4)and 4.45×10^(4)copies per milliliter,respectively).The canonical correspondence analysis showed that environmental factors,including dissolved oxygen,water temperature,total nitrogen,pH,and total phosphorus,had significant effects on the abundance of args.sulⅠ,sulⅡ,tetA,and tetB were significantly correlated with 16S ribosomal RNA sequences,indicating that the bacterioplankton community might affect the distribution of args.The correlation heat map analysis showed that the spread of args was influenced by specific bacterial groups,such as Acidobacteria and Cyanobacteria,indicating that these bacterioplankton may be the hosts of environmental args.

TP53 arg72Pro polymorphism is associated with esophageal cancer risk:A meta-analysis

AIM:To investigate the association between TP53 arg72Pro polymorphism and esophageal cancer(EC)risk using meta-analysis. METHODS:All eligible studies published before March 1,2010 were selected by searching PubMed using keywords"p53"or"TP53","polymorphism"or"variation", "esophageal"and"cancer"or"carcinoma".Crude odds ratios(ORs)with 95%confidence intervals(CIs)were assessed for EC risk associated with TP53 arg72Pro polymorphism using fixed-and random-effects models. RESULTS:Nine case-control studies involving 5545 subjects were included in this meta-analysis.Significantly reduced risk of EC was associated with TP53genotypes for arg/arg+arg/Pro vs Pro/Pro(OR= 0.73,95%CI:0.57-0.94,P=0.014).Subgroup analyses according to the source of controls and the specimens used for determining TP53 arg72Pro genotypes or sample size showed that significantly reduced risk was observed only in studies which have populationbased controls(arg/arg vs Pro/Pro:OR=0.56,95% CI:0.47-0.66,Parg/arg vs Pro/Pro:OR=0.56,95%CI:0.47-0.65,P arg/arg vs Pro/Pro:OR=0.56,95%CI:0.47-0.65,Parg/arg vs Pro/Pro:OR=0.54,95%CI:0.46-0.64,Parg72 carriers are significantly associated with decreased EC risk.Nevertheless,more welldesigned studies are needed to confirm our findings.

Insight into the effect of surface carboxyl and amino groups on the adsorption of titanium dioxide for acid red G

In this study,TiO_(2)functionalized with organic groups were prepared to study the effect of carboxyl and amino groups on the adsorption behavior of TiO_(2)for the removal of acid red G(arg)as an anionic dye from aqueous solution.TiO_(2)was successfully modified with carboxyl and amino groups by using the hydrolysis method with oxalic acid(OAD,with two carboxyl groups),ethylenediamine(EDA,with two amino groups)and DL-alanine(DLA,with one carboxyl group and one amino group)at low temperature(65℃)and labeled as OAD-TiO_(2),EDA-TiO_(2)and DLA-TiO_(2),respectively.The arg uptake by the functionalized TiO_(2)samples was largely dependent on the functional groups.The interaction between arg and the functional organic groups on the TiO_(2)samples plays an important role in the adsorption process,which leads to the excellent adsorption performance(higher capacity and faster adsorption rate)of the functionalized TiO_(2)samples than that of P25(commercial TiO_(2)without modification).Furthermore,there is no obvious loss of the adsorption capacity for the functionalized TiO_(2)even after 5 adsorption-desorption cycles,which indicated the good reusability of the modified TiO_(2)samples for anionic dye removal from aqueous solution.

A ratiometric fluorescent hybrid nanoprobe CDs-1 for arginine(arg),exhibiting high sensitivity(the limit of detection,LOD,being 6.5×10^-8 mol/L) and excellent selectivity and anti-interference ability,was fabricated through fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET) and the electrostatic attraction between positively-charged hemicyanine molecules and negatively-charged carbon dots(CDs).arg can be quantitatively detected in the concentration range from 6.0×10^-5 mol/L to 2.7×10^-4 mol/L.Further,due to its ability to target mitochondrion and low cytotoxicity,intracellular arg was succes s fully tracked through ratiometric fluorescence imaging.

基于CT影像的肺结节的良恶性识别是肺癌诊断的重要环节,针对这一问题,提出一种基于属性关系图(attributed relational graph,arg)的肺结节良恶性度判定方法.该方法以肺结节CT图像块作为输入,利用arg构建其特征结构,并从大量args中挖掘与或图(and-or graph,Ao G)作为肺结节类别识别模板,即肺结节良恶性度判定的依据.此外,为提高模板挖掘效率,该方法利用马尔可夫毯(Markov blanket,MB)发现算法去除图像中的冗余特征,降低arg节点数量.实验结果表明,该方法对恶性肺结节的识别率达到90.12%,能够帮助正确、快速辨识与分析肺结节良恶性,具有一定的实用价值.

目的研究p53基因第72位密码子多态性与瘢痕疙瘩发病风险的关系。方法采用聚合酶链反应反向点杂交、DNA直接测序方法检测了45例瘢痕疙瘩患者与60名正常对照的p53基因第72位密码子多态性位点的基因型。结果瘢痕疙瘩患者的Pro等位基因频率明显高于正常对照组(χ2=4.485,P=0.034)。瘢痕疙瘩患者的Pro arg、arg arg基因型频率与正常对照组相比差异无统计学意义(χ2值分别为0.949和1.346;P值分别为0.330和0.246),而瘢痕疙瘩患者的Pro Pro基因型频率明显高于对照组(χ2=4.375,P=0.036)。提示Pro Pro基因型者患瘢痕疙瘩的风险性明显高于Pro arg、arg arg基因型者(OR=2.400,95%CI1.048～5.498)。结论p53基因第72位密码子多态性位点的基因型检测可能对判断瘢痕疙瘩高危个体具有指导意义。
